Sadly I must let this one go, it's way too far from where I live now. Was kinda hoping that someone might have been able to help me here with a little maintenance, in fact I asked a few cachers but to no avail. Especially sad to kill it when it has a few thumbs up as well but hopefully someone else more local will fill the gap.
Thanks to all.
Thanks to all.
Started a mission walk through the bush on a wee track but go so far then realized we were on the wrong side of the creek.... Take 2 and yeah think it's long gone.... Just debris from flood.
Found on 3/01/11 at 6:31 PM Find #326 by Crazy Paul even after I had already looked there. Well obviously not exactly there or I would've found it, but I was there. Must've had a boys look.

Away for the weekend with a square dancing group. What magic weather we are getting and such a lovely area to enjoy. Whilst doing another cache we decided this was a bonus one to pick up. Hard to hold onto those gps co ords in this area. We timed our pick up nicely just between two sets of muggles.
Nice and easy.

After a jumbo search I finally found the cache. Made the job much harder for myself than it needed to be. Who cares..............great spot and well worth a visit. TFTC. Really enjoyed it.
[Great hiding spot!] Love the "technology" with which the cache is attached!
[Took out a "ball"-like object and put in another "ball"-like object.
Sorry, didn't have an elephant. Loved the Elephant rock in the area!]

There wasn't too many muggles around today as it was a Monday and not a public holiday. We looked in the obvious location, but only the wrong end. It didn't take too long to find. We enjoyed reading the many logs which indicate the cache has been found by muggles many times and replaced by the muggles after making their log. We did no swaps. TFTC.
Lovely hide. Introduced my sister and family to caching with this noce walk and find
Tftc SL and made lots of swaps

Muggle city this morning. I retrieved the cache during a break then had to wait nearly 30 minutes to replace. There were people coming and going the whole time. Nice pools.
Hey Guys!
We couldn't get the coordinates right! the answer to A is not a whole number?
So we didn't know what to do? Maybe you could help us?
Thank you. AKA.

Nice quick find after getting the multi down the hill a bit.
The water was raging here, and there was barely enough room to make the retrieve without fear of being washed away.
I was concerned that once I released the vice-like grip, I would drop into the torrent and lose it forever.
Fortunately, I hung onto it like a Travis Cloke mark, signed the sheet, and replaced it safely.
My thanks to chewin' for another great site for a cache.

A nice walk to this one in the morning. It was our first find for the day. TNLN SL TFTC
Enjoyed the walk the track to the hide (Elephant's Hide) and the cache hide. Had to time the retrieval as there were a few mugglers around but managed this without too much problems. TFTC
Spotted the likely hide walking down from wonderland. Brought the family back up the trail to make the find. Thanks.
Nicely hidden. I thought it was supposed to be 50m north of it location, but its exactly where the coords say. Nice walk. TNLF. TFTC.
Started out from the campground and was not long under way when it started bucketting down .......... again, as it had been off and on all day. However, not to be deterred and knowing it was just a short walk back to the cabin and dry clothes, I pressed on. Signal was a bit iffy but, in the end persistence paid of and the neat little hide was discovered. Always like this walk and the rain didn't really spoil it. Many thanks Chewinprickles.
Nice early morning walk to this cache as the clouds lifted, easy find once GZ was reached...
Walked up here from the Caravan park as the low cloud was hanging around the tops of the hills, very spectacular. Found cache also!
awkward very awkward lol and a few spiders to add to the awkwardness absolutley lovely
We almost decided not to go hunting for this cache as it was raining (again) but we sucked it up and got out on the trail. So glad we did because we had such a lovely time walking the track and finding the cache.
Left and elephant and took an elephant.
Left and elephant and took an elephant.
This is a beautiful walk. Enjoyed it thoroughly. We, like others, thought we could access it from 'up top', but soon realised that a lower walk was necessary! The kids had a ball mucking around in the baths (although swimming is not allowed ). Thanks for bringing us (and about a million other tourists!) to this place.
GPS issues to begin with, but after that was dealt with it was an easy find with 64EH and a bunch of aspiring geo-teens who were on a Youth Camp in Halls Gap. Great hide! Check out photo. TFTC.
Late log. we found this one a gong time ago and only found out this trip that we have not logged it. Nice walk to the cache.
Found this one while staying in Halls Gap for two days.
Thank you very much for showing this place.

Our first cache on our camping holiday in Halls Gap, Took some muggles with us on this one so they could be our look outs for others, was a nice easy find but had alot of trouble putting it back in the same way we found it. TNLN. TFTC.
Found this one on a nice walk from Halls Gap. Easy find but be careful, cause had spiders on it when I got
it out and as far as I know some Aussie spiders do have nasty bites. But apart from that this is just a nice
place to wander around. Dropped Crikey Mate in there, cause couldn't get him to a zoo as requested.
Cache near the zoo I've visited was disabled and couldn't be found. So that's the nearest place I could get
him to meet his friends. TNLN TFTC

On our way to another cache we made a detour to first find this one. Thanks for the Cache.
I forgot to upload the Caches into the GPS yesterday evening... so when we were already on the way to the waling spots I realised... well then some caches nearby and in the afternoon... this was one of them, nice place and well hidden. Thanks and Greetings from the Netherlands.

Went for an early walk to Splitter's Falls before we left for Melbourne after our holiday week encompassing Broken Hill and then Halls Gap, at opposite ends of the environmental ladder. It was a beautiful morning, with very few people around.
Found the cache easily, easier to find than get off the hide base.
It was in pristine condition, with plenty of jumbos inside.
TNLN, thanks for the cache Chewinprickles, it's very secure, have no fear.

The geo kids returned an elephant that had spent 12 months in adl @ 1130 am .They thank you for the cache and the adventure.
One of the advantages of travelling with my bushwalking parents, who have been to the Grampians 4 or 5 times previously, is that they know the way to everything! I really loved this walk! Wild landscape but easy for my low level of fitness. Much quicker find than I had been expecting! Busy place! Cache contents are a little damp despite being nice and high. Took nothing (I know I wrote that I took an elephant in the logbook, but I put him back , left pathtag. Cache #461. We walked on to the Venus Pools, which were overrun with children - I felt sorry for the two people I saw, who took their pushers along this route!
A quick find before bedding done for the cold night, thanks chewnprickles for the find.

We came back the the van park after an icecream in the rain brrr, and we were going to settle in for the night.......nah, one last cache with Highrod for the day!
A nice easy walk. Because of the time 18:10 and the cold, noone else was around. Kept going onto Venus Baths and came back over the bridge. (which is a slightly harder walk.)

A nice flat walk to start the new day. Didn't even have to bend over to look for the cache, as the owners were doing maintenance, so I grabbed the new log before it went in.
We saw GZ from the top of a later cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

Since I was staying up here with the cache owners this cache was a 'must'
By the time the trip was over we had driven past and viewed this cache from all angles.
A nicely put together cache from a cache owner who shows more care for this cache than for one's 2km from home.
Thanks Chewin and Geojen

An easy find after a most excellent walk. [^] We hadn't walked this way since our first visit to Halls Gap many years ago & had forgotten how lovely this area is. We had brought an elephant swap, but seeing as he was furry & the cache was a little wet (as well as some resident ants) we decided that he wouldn't fare too well [xx(], so no swaps today.
After logging our find, we walked further on to the Venus baths & sat on the rocks for a while enjoying the sunshine and listening to the flowing water. We completed our adventure by taking a different path back to town.
Thanks chewinprickles for this nicely placed cache.

Found by Barry and Beryl with J and J at 4.40 pm. It was a lovely walk to the cache, we have been here before and have enjoyed the area each time, there was plenty of water flowing down the creek after recent rains.

Found with Karen on our go get‘em’ at the Grampians weekend 2nd find for the Grampians area. After a bite to eat we left to tick this one of the list. Well I think that we approached this one from the wrong car park despite taking a longer route, it was a great walk with great views and a close up look at the elephant hide a very enjoyable cache. When we reached gz we saw the cache on the ground in full view of everyone we considered ourselves lucky to be able to log this find. I replaced the cache to where I thought was the most likely place it would have been originally and covered with some rocks thanks for the hide no swaps made
Oh No!! Our first Didnt Find!!! Tried our hardest to find this one - a little difficult with lots of muggles passing by. But we tried every place we could think of - so we must have been a little off target. Good excuse to return. Thanks Anyway - Kids enjoyed the area
Found easily on this beautiful walk in 'Wonderland'. A few muggles around but managed to dodge their attention and replaced securely. TNLN. Thanks.
Found @ 14:40 with davroy while on way up to tackle climbing the Elephant Hide to the top. Cache was in the open so hid better out of sight when replacing it. TFTC TNLNSL

5th find on a wonderful 4 days of bikeriding and walking. attended Aust.BikeFriday Club Gathering held at halls gap this year and combined both for a great weekend. lots of muggles around, but by filling our waterbottles up from the creek, were able to retrieve and replace without any worries. pretended we were Trolls and charging a toll from all of those crossing!!
Mad Dog Adventures as part of Marks feigned and denial 50 birthday walk group found this cache. The general consenus was to grab the elephant and leave a glo frog to attract other creek bed frogs at night. The elephant might have gone up to the Elephant Perch up there on the rocky hide, but time didn't allow for that excursion. Sorry guys! Walk to the Pinnacle, its a magnificent walk.
lovely walk early in the morning. Well worth a look at the baths well you are there. Left elephant took fitting

Found at 4.35pm GAFF4. Quite a warm afternoon, but in the company of Phetlern we chatted and walked along the very familiar path making it an easy and pleasant round trip back to our vehicles. Thanks chewinprickles – now off to The Sentinel.
This was the second cache of 6 for the day on a days caching around Halls Gap, the cache was found at 11:15. The wife had decided she wanted to walk to the Venus pools I had no idea where this one was and what track to take, what an amateur, I actually walked right past this one before reloading caches in to the gps from the SD card, Bingo look at that a cache right there. This was my Father in laws first cache, not that he will do any more. My thanks to chewinprickles for the cache.
Found by John and the geokids. Top little walk and all the better on a warm day if you go just a little further. Our very pregnant auntie was very appreciative of a chance to cool her feet. Took smurf and glass egg, left small $.

Easy Pick, very traditional; the "hardest" part was to wait for the best moment (without other traffic).
Very traditional, you know were to search if you got there. Could not resist the temptation to take the TB, will leave it somewhere it can jump to Tasmania. Another smurf went in for my smurfentrail in Australia
I walked past this point yesterday with my group and made a desperate attempt to find the box in a few minutes. No luck. Today I returned with all the time in my hands. I made a few excursions to surrounding elephant-like features until I found it from where I had focused my search a day earlier. After having signed the log I continued my walk to Venus Bath that I had missed yesterday when hurrying to the cache. Nice walking paths. It's great to have caches in places like this.
took the hi-road yesterday and didn't find a way down, took the path from the child's grave today in the rain and it was a nice stroll and easy find
Thanks Miss Jane

One of several caches on a stroll through this pleasant area. Nice to see good water flows in the creek.
First of the day that ended up taking me 25km and 550m elevation change. Not for this cache though. Nice easy flat walk from town and the cache was in hand within 10 minutes of the start.
Being elephant themed, I left a soft red and black spider. I believe they are called elephant spiders?

Saw this one appear on a drive-by, but like Freddo realised I couldn't do it from here. So followed a couple of days later with a walk to the wonderful baths. Kids had a ball, parents stressed about keeping them from going too deep and falling over , but had a few moments to grab a nice, simple cache.
TFTC. Much appreciated!
I see there's another cache up this rocky slope. But having tried to walk up a bit of it, that one looks a bit challenging!

The script of the joke. It is very funny.
Henry: You get on baiting those elephant traps.
Minnie: I don't see the point of them, you know.
Henry: What?
Minnie: We've never caught one.
Henry: That doesn't mean we must stop trying, Min of mine. Think of the dangers! Supposing you came down one morning for a cream-strainer, and found an elephant in the larder, eh?
Minnie: Well, I've never seen an elephant in the larder.
Henry: That is because they're hiding, Min of mine.
Minnie: Where do elephants hide? Tell me that! Where do elephants hide, buddy?
Henry: Well, I don't know, Saxophone-Min, but it's clear to me that they must hide somewhere. How else could they get away with it for so long?

I have been listening to a Goon show clip discussing "elephant traps in the pantry" for the past couple of weeks. Min and Henry Crun. Seemed appropriate to try to find this cache. I thought I could outsmart you for a quick find. Got to within 90m from the cache. Problem is that was both horizontally and vertically. Never fear we will return.

On the way to Elephant Perch so this was a good one. Plenty of traffic even thought it was early. TFTC.
Our first ever attempt to find a cache ended in failure. Possibly we could blame it on the BlackBerry GPS resolution (accurate to 30+ metres!) or just us being useless! Never mind, a great walk (although daughter #1 slipped and twisted her ankle on the way back down).
Poor GPS reception in the area had us looking in the wrong place for a while, but the hint made it all clear. TFTC!

A lovely location for a cache after a pleasant family walk in the morning.
Noticed that the cache isn't particularly well covered, and tried our best with limited resources to improve it. The 2 Dogs #3 Australia Geocoin 2006 is not in the cache.
Took - Diabetes travel bug
Left - trycerotops (closest thing we had to an elephant!!)

Very nice cool morning walk through a beautiful valley, kangaroos and lots of yellow/black butterflies on the way. Alas there was no Venus in the bath, just some kids and a friendly elderly Australian Appollon, with whom I changed a few words.
