I've been watching this cache since we failed to find anything useful at WP1 way back in February 2023, and since then all of the successful finders appear to have resorted to PAF or other sources of info for WP1. So it seems that the only way to find GZ at present is to obtain the WP1 info (or GZ info) from previous finders, which is just "not cricket", so think it's now time to move things up a notch with a more formal WP1 check.
Stopped to do this cache today but couldnt find anything at waypoint 1 and reading past logs , it seems waypoint 1 has been missing for quite a while .
It was an early start to the morning that saw Tankengine, dty73 and myself on the trip to Sydney to meet up with Kittykatch and Joolay by 10am. We had a weekend of a few targeted caches, with the important ones ticked off we spent a fun and leisurely afternoon in Sydney Park for the ALs and caches there, a lovely park.
After a few hours of walking we stretched ourselves for an afternoon at hijinxs. Sure was a lot of fun, but also a lot of effort involved, but a great team and we did good! We earnt the amazing dinner at the Yummy Seafood restaurant in Challora (it was by far the BEST chinese!) it was off for a well earnt sleep, with the unexpected nighttime adventure of the full hotels smoke alarm going off through the night... yay, lets evacuate!
This cache: Nice camo! Log a tad wet but all okay to log our names. Really enjoyed my time exploring this great park. Thanks for the cache ozjeeper!

Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 Aquilus1 Kittykatch and Joolay on a quick trip to Sydney! Thanks ozjeeper!
Wow what a day! It started early at 6:15am when we hit the road for Sydney.
Tankengine, Aquilus1 and I were up and ready for a full day. We met up with Kittykatch and Joolay at 10am and cached until we had to get to HiJinx Hotel for some more fun. Perhaps we were a little ambitious as we did a lot of walking and caching then ended at HiJinx where we did 15 rooms (all pretty physical)! We ended the night at Yummy Seafood Chinese restaurant near our hotel at the Arena Hotel in Chullora - Best Chinese ever!!!
This cache: A quick sorting of coords and an interesting GZ. Loved this park! Tftc!!!

Armed with critical information I revisited the cricket pitch and applied the maths. This quickly took be to a suspicious object and upon closer inspection it contained a nice cache.
Unfortunately the logsheet was wet and not writeable. So a photo log instead.

Given the issues with WP1 I FAF on this cache and got some help for GZ. The coordinates where out but the extra hint I had was golden to make the find of this well hidden cache. Nicely constructed!
Thank you ozjeeper for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Stopped at WP1 for a look, while we were there for the Adventure Lab, but failed to find anything useful cache-wise.
I was unable to find WP 1. I was with a group of fellow cachers and we could not locate. I think that the CO should check.
Three of searched here for quite some time at WP1 but no luck in finding any info today
Spent the day in and around the southern part of the city grabbing a few caches. On what was a perfect day weather wise I was able to advantage of the bike to duck in and out of narrow streets and parks.
This was one of the main reasons for my trip today, I picked up where I’d left off and after a stumble here n there I was at a GZ that looked promising. Eventually I found the clever hide, the log is a little damp.
Thanks to the CO’s for the finds.

We could not find anything at WP1 despite a long search which surprisingly did not attract attention so did not even get to search at GZ.
Super cool to get this with Kittykatch. Needing a multi today and with her having done the work, picked this up on the way to the airport. Vancouver here we come.
Thanks for getting me out and about ozjeeper

With TWO recent finds, wer'e enabling this one again. We think it perhaps should'nt have been so quickly disabled by Ngaambul without first checking with us as to the actual status of the cache.

Tried this one a few weeks back, but in low light I struggled mightily.

Found it with some help from another cacher thanks Kate h log is soaking wet TFTC
Really enjoyed this one. Quick find at WP1. I’m not a cricket fan but google is my friend
Great thing about the imagination is you can imagine you’re anywhere, without even moving. Followed the instructions and made a quick find at GZ.
Loved the thought and effort put into this. Have a FP.

I DNF'd this one way back in 2013 so it has been on the unfound list ever since!
Today I was going through the area and did some research beforehand. I had my starting point all wrong all those years ago and seeing the error of my ways I was in the right direction but still had to PAF for a little nudge one way or the other. Glad to say this one is now off the list! TFTC!

Got to WP1 easily enough but no idea what information I was meant to be picking up...didn't have long enough to work it all out so a DNF for me
There aren't any waypoints included in this cache's entry, but the description says there is one. Is it a glitch?
Out for the afternoon looking for caches in Sydney Park.
Had no idea what I was looking for here. Searched everywhere I could.
Found on second sweep. Such a great way to deliver information - very cute.
I’ve watched a lot of cricket over the years, so knew a bit about the game.
No trouble with direction or length and was not stumped at all.
Thanks ozjeeper for this great cache.
Please accept a favourite point from me.

This was a fun cache and had me thinking hard. Quick find before my conference call started. The log was saturated so I dried out the bag and container with a tissue and added some sheets of paper I had with me TFTC
I loved wp1, it was so cute! After that it took a bit of thinking and looking but we made the find! TFTC!
Found after a slightly lengthy search. Had an idea of the direction and after reading some logs we did what others had done. Ah there it is! Tftc
Wasn't sure about this one, but thought we would give it a go. A bit of head scratching and perstance, we soon had CIH TFTC
Spent some time trying to work out which direction it would be in and eventually it came to me and was a bit obvious! Don't get stumped or caught
Found wp1 quickly enough, but spent so much time debating with HardlyNoobish where the umpire stands in relation to a batter and what was the most important part of WP1
With a rough idea of where we needed to go, hardlynoobish made the find

Was going past and noticed that there had been a couple of dnf's. Had a look and the cache is still where it was when I found it.
Excellent work putting this together. Listen closely to all the clues. We got stumped initially. A lot of fun.
What a clever well thought out cache. Took abit to figure out what I had to do at the WP1 but eventually found what I needed. I sort of figured out where the GZ was because I do like my cricket. I spotted something I have seen a few times and yes it was the cache
Got back to Sydney about half a day earlier than I expected - flight isn’t until 4PM tomorrow so I will head into the city and pick up a few more caches. But tonight I had enough time to walk to Sydney Park and try for the ones in there - they have a few DNFs but I expect inexperience May have been the problem on a few. Found all five and now having dinner on the way back to the hotel.
This was my last of the five and took a bit of finding but all was good. I was tossing up whether to look initially, but as I was returning to the hotel via this way anyway, thought would have a look. At WP1 info was easily found and so I headed down a geotrail to look for a while. Tried some different interpretations of the hint but no look. Looked through some logs and found a cricket term that made more sense - seems I had hooked the ball rather than pulled it was too far behind square to collect the boundary. Wandered the other side of the structure (glad not used much) and found the cache very quickly based on the hint - a nice hide. Signed the log and returned as found.
Favourite point awarded for a clever multi in a busy location.

WP1 was easy enough but not knowing much about cricket it took me a little while to get the right direction. After some googling I had the right answer but did not take the most direct route as there was a rather large 8 legged friend in the way. Once at GZ I followed the hint and had the cache. Tftc
FINALLY!!!!
The second attempt on this one, as the first time I came here I spent an hour looking in all the wrong spots... All these pictures of the playground from previous cachers really confused me a lot and had me looking in areas that I wrongly assumed as GZ...
Tonight I came back again and started searching again in the wrong areas...
Then I stopped and decided to give it another go to the description in WP1... wait a minute!!!!!
Why did I assume that I had to start my search from the middle of the cricket ground?
Gave it another spin, and soon I understood all the indications! now it does make sense!
In the middle of the night reaching GZ could be quite daunting, but there is a bit of a geotrail... and after looking here and there (I went first to the wrong side of the path) soon the HINT made real sense!! Well crafted camo... thanx to google I could translate what the hint could mean in Cricket terms and also in other circumstances...
FINALLY, i could sign the log!
FP awarded even you got me frustrated and fighting against spiders for a while... hehe

Back over in Sydney on another business trip so with some free time before lunch I hopped in an Uber and came over to this beautiful park - definitely off the usual tourist trail today! Had a lovely wander around, although the heat of the day was building and shade became very welcome! A couple of fitness muggles were doing their thing and running around the oval, however I had no problems retrieving the information at WP1 Retreated to a shady seat to work out what to do next. One cricket fact I didn’t know but Google certainly did! With a reasonable idea what I was looking for and where I needed to get to, I began scouting out ways to get there without walking into the enormous spiders that seemed to be everywhere Eventually I made it, but was glad no one was around to hear me squealing every time I though I was near a web, haha. Container was found at the second host I checked. I like the way this cache is set up and the final hide - it’s a favourite point from me TFTC
YesterdayI found WP1 easy but not GZ. The hot weather made searching half hearted. CO confirmed may thought was right but needed to go wider of the crease. Soon I had spotted the camo and had the log signed. Thanks to ozjeeper for the placement and fun.
ozjeeper I found your cache It's Not Cricket on 25/11/18, 11:45 am. This is my find 2171 and find # 6 today. Attempted this years ago for a no find. This time couldn't remember where WP1 was, but after a brief search located it. Now to work out GZ. Let's try this spot, nope. Let's try this spot, nope. Check hint again, aha, let's widen search area and bingo there it is, very well camo'd, have seen this a number of times in my travels. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN

Found on a warm Monday whilst in Alexandria. Initially my suspicions for GZ were off after mis-interpreting the hint, but after expanding the search I found something obvious that also made sense. SL and replaced as found. Not sure what the previous finders are signing, as the last entry before mine was the crew on 22/10/17. Cheers for the cache ozjeeper!
Had my cricket brain going. Spent ages looking. Fortunately my girl is less cricket oriented, and finally understood the clue and cache was quickly found!
Was a fun one. Thanks.
Was a fun one. Thanks.
Took a little while to get it. Paid attention to the clues and not overthinking the cricket reference helped a lot!!
Found WP and book. Think I know where it should have been but after 15mins couldn't see it.
Found WP1 fairly quickly. But despite knowing the required positions in cricket, we were not good enough to find this cache. Too bad. We still had a nice walk around Sydney Park. Thanks.
It's definitely Not Cricket when somebody [probably a POM (:-)] vandalises the instructions at WP1. Sorry Hudextra32 but thanks for the heads-up.
Temporarily disabling this one until a replacement instruction book has been placed.

Well I found WP1 no problem. And I believe that I found WP2, I was searching with 2 fellow geocache-rs . We did take photos of WP2 location and can upload upon ozjeeper request. need to confirm whether its missing or not
Think i've been to this cache twice before and had no luck with WP1 - funnily it seems the next bit is where most finders get stumped.
Come back today and still nothing to show.
Guess this must be the next of those ones where I'm plain blind.
Guess I'll have to be back soon.

A group walked over from the GCNSW Climb into Spring event to look for this one. Luckily we brought a past finder with us who helped with the finer cricketing details that each of us had struggled with on previous occasions. Very clever use of a specific knowledge area. Thanks ozjeeper.
I had a DNF on this one over a year ago, when I got the info at WP1, but got run out early. After the event, a group of us revisited the ground, grabbed the info again and proceeded to look for the cache. This time I used the hint, made a fine catch at square leg and soon had CIH. TFTC.
Found with fellow cachers at the "Climbing into Spring" event Would probably have been a bit baffled had I attempted this one alone - but many minds made light work :p

I attended the nearby Climbing into Spring event today and a group of us headed off in search of this multi. I had looked at this cache before and saw that others had problems finding the cache, but today we had the help of someone who was 'in the know' which helped. We walked towards gz and, after reading the hint, I spotted something suspicious. A quick search and there was the cache. A clever disguise. Signed the log and replaced it all as found. TFTC
While I was downloading caches to the GPSr with a view to finding a few either before or after the GCNSW Event, I had briefly considered this one, but seeing all the DNFs put paid to that idea. Besides, I don't have much of a clue about cricket, well at least not the finer details of the game. However, I did actually look up all the positions on the cricket field and discovered all sorts of interesting things: there are long, short, backward square and square legs, which presumably could qualify you for a government grant from the Ministry of Funny Walks. I suppose the fine legs, whether wearing a slip or not, wouldn't attract any funding, but might attract some looks from the spectators. I even spotted a position called Cow Corner. A glossary of cricket terms explains that this is "the area of the field (roughly) between deep mid-wicket and wide long-on. So called because few 'legitimate' shots are aimed to this part of the field, so fielders are rarely placed there – leading to the concept that cows could happily graze in that area." So now you know!!
When I heard that some of the other cachers were heading on over to attempt this one after the GCNSW Event had concluded, I decided to tag along to help with the search. With my newly acquired knowledge about cricket positions I could follow the discussion at WP1 as we decided where we should be heading to find the container.
A team effort eventually turned up the container and we were able to add our names to the log.

Sunday. BEAUTIFUL winter's day in Sydney. Muggled. Completely. But, learned about cricket and saw some fit people. Not sure it's there cos of redevelopment going on so someone else might need to check
