That was a great adventure. No play on the field today, in fact water polo might have been the only possibility. We made our way to the edge above the waypoint then zigzagged down. Found the gizmo but it was swimming and we didn't hold much hope for it even after drying as much as we could. we got to the rocks and started pressing but nothing was heard. On reaching the end, we turned and methodically searched every crevice and alcove and then spotted a rock that looked inviting. We uncovered the muddy box and opened to find gizmo #2 taking a bath too. A bit of drying, paperwork done, cache returned and we were off. It's not obvious why the roof and walls stay put but we survived. A bit of TLC needed her but a unique hide worth a fave. Thanks Trigger_Fish.
What a way to spend Sunday! This one brought us to a beautiful country town with very scary cache search.Beware the spotted mushroom lurking near the top.Baktrak did the work, I helped with first aid if necessary, though a mine caving in was a little beyond my expertise! Many thanks for an inventive and challenging cache Trigger Fish
Malheureusement aprs une tentative, je n'ai mme pas russi mettre la main sur la premire boite. C'est frustrant mais c'est ainsi. Je me suis quand mme un peu aventur dans l'antre mais n'ai pas t bien loin sans les infos. Dommage...Unfortunately after one attempt, I didn't even manage to get my hands on the first box. It's frustrating but that's how it is. I still ventured a little into the den but didn't get very far without the information. Shame...
A number of adventures. First finding the easy way down. Then a hunt for the device. No gumboots but walking boots on. Ok untill the swimming pool, nearly edged around but foot slipped so wet feet. Carried on to end with no clues so slow back searching and an easy find. Batteries certainly flat, don't bother with it frankly. Great fun though as I squelched back to the van for a change of socks.
(# 7602) Day 4 of the West Coast trip primarily to go to the Wild Food Festival in Hokitika. Today we are heading back to Picton. I was not so gently persuaded by Itchyfeet2020 (a previous finder) that this is a most to do. So who am I to argue. Got to the opening without any dramas. Went in and was very lucky it was all dry inside. Not even any mud. Got to the end and didn't see anything on the way. Retraced my steps and was soon rewarded with the cache in hand. Very chuffed to have gotten this and definitely worth a FP. Thanks for bringing me here.
So satisfying to finally get this one! I’ve had it on my watchlist for ages and it was just as wonderful as I had imagined.
Wisco Bryo and I are spending the weekend camping on the west coast. With her keen eye and willingness to get filthy, I knew she was the perfect one to help capture this gem. It took a minute to locate the entrance but once in we were well on our way.
The device didn’t seem to be working. No worries, as we were checking every crevice and hole along the way just for fun. We reached the end, got a bit wet, then turned back to spot the cache, as I imagine is the case with everyone.
Well done. A beaut of a cache. FP well deserved.

What a fantastic experience. In Blackball last night to finish the Pokai Whenua tour - as in completely finished. We celebrated at the Formerly Blackball Hilton and then we got to get up and do this one. We got told at the pub the track is really hard to find in winter as there is no locals trail. In summer the locals leave a visible trail. That wasn't putting us off at all. We had all the help and guidance of past finders in our phone! And we leveraged it all. We found what we will call the middle track not the enticing right hand one and duly found our way down. We missed the little cave so when we got to the right one we overshot thinking we needed one more. A look back told us what we needed. Didn't see any netting tho. In we went. That was absolutely amazing fun. I was in tramping boots and managed to keep dry until the end when there was a big pond and an attractive ledge so right foot in. That wasn't needed turned around and there she was. Just like everyone says. Super super cache. Thank you so much for that. Amazing fun and big thanks to CO and all the past finders keeping this one going.
After grabbing the pwgt we decided we had time for this adventure. It was slightly muddy. There was only one pond, but one of us managed to slip and step into it. We didn't look for the first waypoint long as it looked missing. Inside the cave, we walked as far as we could and then send the smallest one to look for the container. We slowly walked back until we found it. We grabbed a TB. Container was in good condition although there was a bit of mud inside. Thanks for the adventure.
We arrived in Blackball, parked our MH and caught some friends of ours returning from a walk and geocaching. Our interests were piqued, so off we went with a torch and good boots. Lucky us to experience this, and log a find (although the log book was a bit soft from moisture). TFTC.
We arrived at Black ball today and I suggested to KL let's do this cache that we missed last time before we knew it we had a team of muggles wanting to tag along as per previous logs finding the track down was the first minor challenge.
Having said that it was basically plain sailing after that along with a scramble down a smallish gullythe GPS had me at the correct tunnel entrance...lights on in we go ..for me it was a tad low at the start then what an exciting adventure..
I can just imagine what it was like way back then ...but possibly not as many cave weta's lol...after a few turns we arrived at a likely spot ...yes there it was ..
The container had some water inside which I drained and dried as best possible..signed and replaced as foundthis would have to rate way up there in my caching adventures an easy fav thanks Moneydork
..you probably ready know but the electronics are not functioning thanks for your efforts I appreciate caches along these lines

We are really buzzing! We have an event in Blackball this weekend. We arrived early to secure parking. We grouped up and mentioned to our muggle mates that we were going underground. Two decided to come with us. We grabbed torches and off we went. I had read previous hints so the entry was found readily although we had to do a bit of a recce to make sure we were heading in the right direction. Down we went and soon found the tunnel entrance. Lights on and in with poor cave wetas in a panic to get out of the way. The floor was muddy but no wet feet. Went in past the rail iron and as far as easily possible. Turned around and there was the cache. Soo cool. We were all buzzing on the way back. The muggles were blown away. We talked to a local later and he told us there used to be tours right through when you could get through. Thanks for bringing us here moneydork
Wow, Beautiful adventure chasing this Cache! Didn’t read the comments in activity, but had suspicions about the electronic device! Thank you very much for the find! My best cache yet!
Such a fun adventure through the cave. Definitely worth the detour to do this one very impressive
Log was a little damp and pen wouldn’t work so got a pic of cache instead. Thanks for bringing us here!
Such a beautiful walk! Thanks so much bringing us here a magical experience
Log boom was rather wet to write on so have taken a photo ️ tftc

Today tarmacprof and I were out on an adventure, we went to the Brunner Mine Site this morning and Blackball this afternoon. I messaged Jude_e the day before to suss out where we were going as the doorbell no longer works but daywalks log was the most useful. I knew we were on the right track when we went past the netting. The tunnel was quite wet at the beginning, I was lucky with my gumboots I didn't get wet feet. We saw one cave weta on our journey. We got to a large pool of water that we weren't able to get through so we started searching. Tarmacprof spotted a corner of something suspicious and we soon had the cache in hand. This was a great wee adventure! We went for chips and a drink at the Blackball hilton to celebrate
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our first post COVID-19 lock down weekend away. The forecast for the West Coast this Queens Birthday weekend is sun, sun, and more sun so that's where we are heading .
I had chickened out of looking for this cache nearly 10 years ago, when I saw that the way down looked like a vertical cliff, so SW looked for it solo. On his way back from GZ, he found a better route back up to the playing fields. Decided to have another go, using the easier access and SW thoughtfully accompanied me.
Found the WP, but it is no use at the moment, so luckily SW could remember where the cache was. This is where I discovered a small hole in my gummies . Good to finally get my name in the log book. Not somewhere I'd like to visit again, so kudos to SW for braving it again. Brilliant idea for a cache, though. TFTC.

I knew I was in for another challenge when I was asked if I had brought my gum boots, or other footwear that could get wet. The answer was no. One does have to keep one’s walk on luggage on a flight at 7 kgs, although someone else thought that was no excuse! Hmmmmm.
As we drove to the start of the walk I read in a previous log about a steep track going down with a sheer cliff on one side... people clambering down and climbing back up.
At the car park it was on with the borrowed red top (with lamb skin inner soles) gumboots and head torch; ice towel around my neck (it was a very hot day) and woollen jersey on my shoulders (should I get cold where we were going); pick up the walking pole and cell phone and check the first aid kit was in the car - it was.
Across the sheep poo strewn rugby field we went to enter the bush through tall gorse bushes. Now, despite me repeatedly commenting about a previous cacher saying there was a well used, easy downhill track to the gully on our left the others preceded to start going down the steep track with a sheer cliff on one side. This is when my personal Health and Safety Officer said, “Remember wobbly knees and vertigo near cliffs” so I stayed where I was. Eventually the other two decided to turn around and come back up -they had gone down 5-6 metres vertically. So it was back to the rugby field to start again and GUESS WHAT? We found the correct track easily -we had walked past it before!!!
Down we all went and as thy say, ‘The rest is history.’ There were a few comments about the temperature of the water, but my feet were warm and dry in the borrowed red top gumboots with lamb skin inner soles. We spotted cave wetas -they scurried away on their long thin legs. Mica twinkled when we shone our torches on the now high ceiling. Soon we signed the log book and headed back to sunlight.
Many thanks for great the adventure. Favourite point given.
Signed JEN as I am caching with Nosynel and Jude_E.

Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
• 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
• 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
• And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

On the West Coast with Nosynel and Ethness. Signing logs as JEN. This was fun plus. A few wrong starts til I spotted a much gentler was. No hearing aids in but I think I heard Ethness shouting that I should read Daywalk's log! Anyway, it turned out I was in the right place and my wp1 was only 2m out, right at the tunnel entrance. About ankle deep to begin with and before long it was dry and high enough to stand up in. Spotted the cache while the others were delayed looking at wetas. I gave them a miss. Not a bug fan! A cool adventure. Thanks for placing the cache here. Am wondering how on earth the CO knew it was there!

This cache was a major aim of our trip. The DT rating and adventure appealed to us. It is my second to last DT that needed completing.
We did our homework and asked previous finders for a little help. A lot of help was given by a previous log we are grateful. We passed the netting and realized that we were on the right track.
It was a beautiful day and The West Coast had had a streak of nice weather. I imagine the track leading to the tunnel would be like a river.
The wetas along the side were delightful. Such an interesting insect. They sure can jump.
We saw some old rail in part of the track. Then Jude-E spotted the cache. FANTASTIC!!!!
We stayed the night Greymouth. Look out my friend Ethness is in town. We have started our road trip with Jude-E. Tripple Trouble. Thanks Moneydork for placing this geocache it is find 8199 for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

After an awesome 4 days tramping the heaphy track and 2 days in westport with some underworld rafting thrown in (and some caches) it was time to head home to geraldine grabbing more along the way..
As with most cachers this one is on the hit list...for me it fills in a t5 so i can i publish a challenge cache. This was always going to get a fav point and so it deserves it. Track was easy to find and the tunnel its soon came into sight..planned to get wet feet so came preparded with my dive booties . Torches on and in we go ...pletty of weta to scare the kids and water to slosh through .explored the tumnel first and foind the cache on our return using caching sense...as expected an awesome experience

This cache has been on the radar for a while... plus Bain Bay... so a holiday based in Greymouth was needed. Our timing was impeccable because, after months of torrential rain, we have had two weeks of sun. Today we found the centre of Blackball blocked off by a huge marquee getting ready for the formal opening of the Paparoa track. We checked out the Workers Museum - very interesting - and the Commie Toilet - and the information sign that shows several short walks around Blackball. Including the walk to a gold mining tunnel under the rugby field! It's official!
So we chased away the sheep and headed into the gorse at an obvious spot. Hmm, this terrace has a jolly steep drop off! Mr D pointed out what looked like a good sheep track going down the gully to our left... but Mrs D pointed out that the tunnel entry waypoint was well over to our right.
So we we walked right , through the beech trees and found a sheep track leading down. To a sheer cliff on one side... we clambered down to the bottom, but the track petered out. It was tiger country and no cachers had been there... so up again.
Next try that track we saw before - oh yes- well used, easy downhill, passed one small tunnel entry then some old netting and soon a cacher-sized tunnel. Looked and found the waypoint, yes, it's nowhere near the waypoint coordinates but we are here!
Headlights on, wade through the water up to our ankles to get in, and exclamations of delight from Mr D - a side alcove with beautiful cave weta to admire. They didn't like the torch light! A nice high tunnel, easy to walk along. Round the corner, checking each pile of tailings boulders as we pass.
Mr D gets to the end and announces that he's not going any further. Exploring over, so time to find the cache. All good with the new log.
With electronics like this, it's not just batteries. You need to keep them bone dry with double containers and silica gel sachets. Plus about every six months or so, you need to take the devices home, put them over a heater and dry them out properly.
Helpful hint - to find the track entry, line up the goalposts and walk to directly behind the goalposts.
We rewarded ourselves with lunch at Formerly The Blackball Hilton- very nice. And the locals said that gold mining was forbidden in the town, but residents did tend to have private mines to the gold-bearing strata under their property... wonder how productive this tunnel was?
Really enjoyed this cache, thanks Moneydork!

we had messaged a few people asking about this one, with some of the comments about things not working and CO not inthe country anymore we did wonder about heading off to get this one with not been local. So off we went armed up with multiple torches, sloshed over the grounds eyeing up the goal post then hmmm where to go from here... thats a long way down there... back out to the field must be a way down, nope back in to the bush... aha a sheep trail and then followed the water down, aha the shaft? nope not the right one.. downand down we carried on and aha another opening... think this is it... slashing through the water into the darkness, flying bugs and weta abound... to nervous to check for glow worms... carried on hunting for the first container but missed it and found the second. contents a bit damp by log dry in three plastic bags. pity CO hasn't maintained cache would have been a great one to do it as originally place. nice to do something different to get a cache smiley TFTC
We did it !!
Epic road trip today with K C N - to fill a DT hole for both of us - this has been on my radar for so long and was definitely worth all of the anticipation.
New torch and headlamp for the expedition - served me well.
We approached from an "over the top" method but found an easier way for the return trip (always the way!); sussed out the tunnel, although the info board said on the Left & I would have said on the Right...
Torch and headlamp performed superbly; got wet feet but not unpleasant (and the tunnel was nice & cool ).
Geosense prevailed and the DT hole filled.
Thanks for the cache & the experience, Moneydork.

Kotuku-SI had this one on her to do list and invited me along for the company and also knowing I needed the D/T rating. Well after a compulsory 'pit stop' and a bit of re-hydrating we parked up and headed for the gz. Instructions from the info board are a bit vague but we found the way to gz a little challenging but what do we expect from this terrain rating. Found the right location and off I went leading the way. Kotuku-SI used her bright new powerful torch and I had a pitiful one but it still did the job. No wet feet for me today and we found the coolness rather refreshing compared to the day up top by the goal posts. Saw my first wild Wetas as well so that was a bonus to actually finding the cache. As mentioned the devices are not working but this can be found with some geo sense. Thanks for the cache and the challenge Moneydork - it was well worth the effort.
Found with our 3 and 5 y.o. Thank you Moneydork for bringing us here. It was a bit of a mish to find the access, even after seeing hints on the town map outside the Hilton Hotel. Both caches are in place, waterlogged and the electronics past their expiry date, but with a bit of geosense, they can still be found. We brought spare batteries as mentioned by tufty, but unfortunately the electronics won't work anymore. What a clever idea for a cache! Logbook was super dry thanks to tufty. A favourite for us for sure.
I understand from locals in Blackball that this cache was shifted to an old coal mine nearby but then it was removed from there as it was deemed unsafe to enter. I checked both places and found nothing...
What a wonderful adventure, SJT_NZ and I headed for what we thought was a likely entrance point and quickly found the entrance. Thanks to the pre reading we'd come prepared although SJT_NZ had his new welly's and as I'm yet to purchase just had some suitable shoes (but feet got a little wet). Found the equipment at the first waypoint and headed in, discovered that equipment wasn't working but after a short wander had a good search around in likely spots and soon had the prize. All nice and dry and a lot of fun. Returned equipment for next finder, thanks for a fantastic cache.
This was the best cache we've done in a long time. We were in the area for the weekend, ostensibly for the power trail a few KMs away as we needed some big numbers in a single day for a challenge we're working on.
Being so close to Blackball, and keen fans of the sausages and salami, we made a side trip and saw this cache with the high FPs.
A bit of a challenge in the wet getting in to the first WP - but then again we hadn't selected the most appropriate route. Departing was much easier.
A fair bit of water in the tunnel - even though I had high gumboots toward the end needed to scramble a bit to avoid deep patches where the water was nearly knee deep.
In the end a reasonably quick find with all in good order. Signed log and replaced as found.
Thanks Moneydork for a novel and well constructed cache. Another FP well earned.

I was staying in Greymouth for a few days and this cache was on my must-do list. It had been mentioned when I was up north that if I was ever down this way I should do it. Well, with my brother, BaldEd, staying in my caravan with me he offered to come with me even though he had been previously.
We found the electronic device and as suspected that it wasn't going to work and armed with headlamps and gummies we ventured on towards the final which was found fairly easily.
I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and have awarded it a fave.
For those who follow please bring a small 12volt battery, which is about half the physical size of a AAA battery (No. CN23A) for the first device and 2 x AA batteries for the second.
Cheers for the cache.

I've heard a lot about this cache and it's been on the must do list for a long time. I came down to tramp up to Croesus Hut so had to do it while here. From previous logs I knew the first electronic device wouldn't work so didn't bother to look for it, just went straight in. Pleased I'd changed from tramping boots into gumboots, the water inside the entrance was over ankle deep but after that it was just muddy. I had no idea how far I'd gone in, went as far as I could then started searching and soon found it. I tried not to look around on the way in, terrified I'd see some of the creepy crawlies I've read about in logs. On the way out I picked up the courage to look around and didnt see any. Thanks so much for pushing me to go outside my comfort zone by going in there solo, I'm so pleased I did

We had to revist our favourite cache after staying in Blackball for the night. It really is superb and if you are planning a visit, wear good, grippy shoes that can get wet. I mean nearly-knee-height-wet! We tried it in gumboots and it is not easy getting there as the boots can slip off your feet. BTW this cache is sopping wet, all parts of it. It would be amazing to get it up and working for future finders as it can't be signed at the moment.
Been looking at this one for a while and today was the day. Packed the family in the car and we were on the way. Made it to the start of the tunnel and the other half said no way hes going in. So a ask the 3yr old and he was keen as so picked him up and carryed him in. He had a ball looking at all the cave weta and spiders. Found the cache but the log is very wet. Thanks for bring in here had a great time doing this one.
This was the other goal I had for today. We had talked to some people at an event yesterday who have already done this one, including one who said it was their all time favourite cache and he has found over 10 000 caches. Knowng what we were in for made the anticipation even greater, we arrived nearby, prepared ourselves by reading through sone of the previous logs and realised there were two ways of getting to the right place - an easy way and a hard way. I said to GK that we need to find the easy way - which was surprisingly easy to find - well the rest of the story is that this is a must do cache. There is plenty of room to stand and move about in there (once you are throught the first little bit) and what was even better is that I did not see any creepy crawlies, mind you I wasn't looking for them. GK found the cache and we signed and replaced it. A definate favourite from us. We would love to know how you knew this was there. Thank you Moneydork for the cache and the experience
After a semester abroad in New Zealand, I travel around the country with MMXX now. There are plenty of amazing spots to discover.
Thanks for placing a geocache here and sorry that I keep my logs short. Was a great adventure to get into the mine.

Lorok really wants to go for that, so the first thing in the morning was this Mystery. We went down and locked for the electronic device. Better Lorok did, I tried to lower the water level at the entrance. The device seems gone (the opposit part in the cache is defect, so no need to look for it anyhow). We went in just to see and in the end we came to the before described pool and could find the cache. Great thing!
So far seen on this trip: Thailand and New Zealand.

We drove out to Blackball late yesterday afternoon and spent some time looking for the best access to this cache. Eventually resorted to knocking on a door, and got confirmation of what was required. By that time it was approaching dusk so we decided to leave the adventure for today.
Made our way down to the starting point. The entrance was a bit smaller than we we expecting, but we headed in, through ankle deep water. Once past that it was just a case of following the path to GZ. On our arrival we quickly spotted the cache and made the find. On the way back out one of us tried to keep her eyes pointing straight ahead, but failed and did become aware of some of the cave wildlife. Thanks for a great little adventure. Adding a Favourite Point.

Its Easter & have teamed up with The Seagnoid & Zara, for a magical mystery tour of the West Coast. Bug out Thursday lunchtime picking up the Seagnoid on the way. Stopped off here being one of The Seagnoids "got to visit places". He has already solved the puzzle and been here and I loved coming here. Thanks The Seagnoid and Moneydork.
I was fortunate enough to be able to squeeze an 11 day holiday out of two leave days!! I headed out west to find some caches, see some sights, and relax before the madness of the semester hits. The weather was unbelievably good, only a bit of a storm over Arthur's Pass on the first day, otherwise hot and sunny. I found a great variety of caches, drive by's, walks, hikes, even a power trail. Thank you to all the CO's for their great hides!!!
Today was to be a big day, and it started early, too. I was out on the road with the break of dawn, aiming to get a few, and a couple more The main plan was to attack the cards, but I managed to get in a good variety today! This one was definitely a major highlight!! Having been on my radar 'for next time I am in the area', I almost forgot about it!! Luckily I looked at the map for any nearby easily solvable puzzles (no time before holiday to get puzzle solving), and duh, this one was here! I came equipped with gumboots and a good torch, plus a spare. The gummies were quite cool to pace across the field above, but not ideal dropping down below. They came very handy in the mine though, quite a bit of water present! Entrance found easily enough, and then in was a matter of just heading in... Interesting place, most of the side passage ways filled with rocks, I was hoping that no earthquake was coming on just then It did not help that I have just visited the Pike 29 memorial also... Eventually, I found the container and signed the log! On the way back, however, it felt like someone was staring at my back - I did invite them to come out, but no one showed Great experience, thank you for making me get out of my comfort zone TFTC!!!

Great cache, had a struggle getting to the cave and lot of wrong turns and a heavenly big dip. Once at The cave, we (wicm, wicm jr and me) decided that although there was water above our ankles we didnt mind getting wet. After several minutes of going deeper and deper into the cave, we looked around and wicm jr found the cache. TFTC
In the car: "Let's do a detour and stop at the 'Formerly The Blackball Hilton' for lunch" said Mrs Wicm.
...
At the hotel: "Are there any geocaches here?" asked 1Octember, digging into a Cornish pasty. "There is a D4.0/T5.0 just down the road which, appropriately for Cornish pasty eaters, involves going underground. The logs all say it's a must-do. Want to give it a go?" "If it is big enough for swaps, let's do it!"
...
Leaving Mrs Wicm in the car, three of us tramped across the playing fields towards the goalposts, taking our torches with us (the torch from the car's toolkit and a phone with a flashlight app). Sun beating down, heat bouncing off the grass, sound of lawnmowers droning in the distance. (Is it lawnmowing day in Blackball?) The gap in the gorse magically opened for us as we approached.
...
Down the slope: Unfortunately we were navigating by phone. "This is too steep! Help me!" cried 1Octember. "This is why it is a T5!" I replied. "But I think we are too far over. We need to sidle round."
...
At the mine: "Hmm. There is water in the mine entrance. It looks about ankle deep. Are you both happy to get your feet wet?" "These are my good sneakers, but YOLO!" replied Wicm Jnr.
...
In the mine: "Apparently there are cave spiders and cave wetas in here. Keep your eyes open for them." "No I don't want to!!!" replied 1Octember.
...
At the end: "We have got to a pool of water and the roof is very low just past it. From what I read in previous logs it's around here somewhere. Can anyone see it?" "Found it!" said Wicm Jnr.
...
Back at the entrance: "Ah! There's a path that goes straight up from here. That's much easier than where we came down!"
...
Back at the car: "Have you had an adventure?" asked Mrs Wicm. We certainly had. FP and TFTC.

We read the description and thought very hard about giving it a go. After reading some of the logs we decided to give it a go. We had some trouble finding the way to waypoint 1, but decided at one point to just try. We could not find the first cache with the electronic device, but we already knew we did not need it. So gave it a go, mad our way in and tried it out. We were lucky to hold the final cache in our hands, but the description is correct:
Take gumboots, a second torch and just try it out. Definitely one of the best caches today, Really enjoyed it and a great cache. It would be really great if one of the local cachers would be prepared to maintain the cache as the logbook is getting wet. TFTC

Found cache quite damp and slightly muddy. DNS due to damoness. Electronic not working but found it with basic tracking skills.
Will try to come back soon to replace batteries. Hopefully that is all that's needed.

A plan was hatched during the week for a raid on the West Coast on some of the various caches placed over this way. In scope were the pack of cards power trail (gracie7 = mum), some Greymouth ones in town, a Wherigo, Earthcache, missing D/T combo at Blackball, some pre solved puzzle caches and anything else that took our eye on the way past. Setting off with co pilot the seagnoid (I drive, he directs) we left Blenheim at 0600 (should have left at 0500 because we were driving some of it in daylight, and not caching, a waste of daylight!) All up another epic day; just under a hundred finds, 3 or 4 F T Fs, over 700 kms on the speedo, 15 hours driving and some new scenery seen (should that be saw-ery). We saw Wekas (well I did anyway, t S saw a goat on a goat house and lots of coal, but then what do you expect!) The weather was kind, the sun shone a bit and the temp hit 18 degrees at one point, thanks West Coast,
Thanks to all the C Os whose caches we found today, some logs were signed C T S to save some log book space, others a scrawl and the date 2/5.
Another reason we're over this way, this cache. A unique D/T quite rare and in an interesting place
Parked and walked across to the start point then found the trail down. Completely lost the track as we split up and lost my torch as I went down the bank, duh!
Finally met up with the Seagnoid who'd taken a better route and was at the mouth. Went in and despite wet feet up to mid calf was a great experience and explains why this cache has so many F P s. Got to the end and turned round then started searching. Picked out by torchlight and signing duties complete, yay. LEFT it where I found it and headed back out. Found my torch as we retraced my ridiculous route back up.
Thanks for the cache Moneydork and the great experience.

[green] An awesome day trip with Capperz. FTFs, earthcache, wherigo, a cache deep in a mine, an F T F on a cache yet to be published and a 52 cache power trail. 98 caches in all, we were caching in the dark and too tired to bother with trying to get to 100 (and I have done 100 in a day before). But it also involved a 3.5 hour drive from Blenheim to Greymouth, and another 3.5 hour drive back. Plus weka and goats (I'm claiming the goat, but alas, can only claim one weka. Capperz trumps me easily with a full house: three weka and a couple of weka). And rats and possums...
We skipped the last few caches and came here. This is a D/T target for both of us. Starting at the top trying to find the way down, Capperz picks the wrong route, and I find the easy way. Except I botched up. I loaded the waypoint coords and found the mine entrance, rather than look for the cache with the entrance coordinates in it. At the mine entrance I wait for him. And wait, and wait. Eventually he turns up, but has dropped his torch somewhere. No worries, mine is plenty good enough. We walk in to the end of the mine, then realised how I had botched up. Capperz tells of another mine he found on his crooked route here. Are we in the wrong mine? Back track out looking for the cache, and found it. We take capperz route back to the car to check out the other cave and pick up the dropped torch.
Awesome cache. Would have loved to know what they were mining for here. Also the references re the electronics in the description - not needed. And once that is removed, then the needs maintenance attribute can be removed too.
I am a caver, so was totally in my element. This was a blast! Even though there were no wrigglies (that is, me having to wriggle on my stomach to get somewhere, not creepy crawlies)(There were creepy crawlies. Saw a large cave weta. Awesome!). There are even some rails still there for the mining carts! This gets a favourite. I would have given it two if I could!

We were feeling too antsy to stay home on this rainy weekend so decided to be brave, put on our wet weather gear and go caching anyway. A typical moneydork cache eliminated our boredom, sent us on an adventure and, some of the time, protected us from the elements. As mentioned before, the electronic component of the cache didn't work (but an amazing concept! Wish we could've experienced it! ), however the instructions were clear enough to lead us to gz. So much fun, a fav for me
This cache is a challenge for me to overcome my fear of the dark. Sevren was here before but he did not remember where is the cache hide then I search and finally found it.tftc
This was a destination cache we had heard rumours of previously! We used our phone lights, which we were warily checking as the battery power was low...found the cache nevertheless, wonderful idea and experience, thanks a lot!
Enjoying a fantastic 3-week summer road trip around the South Island with our kids: over 4000km under our belts, having started at Picton, headed south via scenic eastern & southern highways to Bluff, onto Fiordland, and have spent the last couple of days winding our way back up the West Coast. Fabulous journey so far with spectacular views everywhere we look; it’s been such an amazing holiday. Much as though I'd love to stop at every cache along the way, the agreed plan is a few quality finds each day or risk mutiny from the rest of the family who don't share my sistema-obsession. This was on today’s must-do list: an intriguing puzzle cache, nice D/T rating, lots of fav points & not too far off the beaten track on our way to stay with friends near Atarau tonight. Problem was, we were running late by the time we reached this part of the world & it needed a LOT of persuasion to get MrK69 to stop at all .... and that was before he realised it wasn't a park & grab!!!
Decided in the interests of time to leave the young teens in the car &, in the interest of safety, for me not to go alone. In our rush, we didn't find the easier route in & definitely took a T4 approach ... if anything, this was great by MrK69 who loves this sort of adventure. Found WP1 & then realised that recent heavy rain meant wading to get to GZ. Bare footed, off we went. Soooo glad that MrK69 led the charge & took the hit from the many wetas who weren't impressed at sharing their space lol. Got a bit worried that the water was getting deeper & deeper but then spotted the cache, just before we needed to wade thigh deep. Device didn't work even when right by the actual cache but the final was all good, apart from being a bit damp, & a straightforward find, even without the electronics. Extracted ourselves & found the easier path on our way back - doh! Thanks for a great cache & a great adventure which definitely needs a fav from us, TFTC

Got to wp1 and found the container rather wet and the electronic device made a sloshy sound
Got to wp1 and found the container rather wet and the electronic device made a sloshy sound when shaken! Walked in anyway and son found the second container sick was also rather wet and unable to sign the log. Still a cool and fun cache. TFTC.
Definite highlight of the trip, both for DT rating and for caching experience. Started by taking some time to find the best way down to the entrance. The gorse looks intimidating but there is a pathway through it pretty much directly behind the goal posts.
The entrance was then quickly found and in I went for what was actually a rather quick find! Mrs Nofs was keen to have a look inside too so we spent quite a bit of time looking at the geology and the biology. One very interesting spider, a whole bunch of wetas and what looked like some fossilised plant matter - possibly seaweed. Great cache, definitely worth a favourite point.

I've had my eye on this cache ever since I've been caching as a must do. However it wasn't on my list for this trip for the same reason it hasn't made it to the endless others but when when a milestone was needed this was an obvious choice instead of playing 52 pick up. I was uncharacteristically quite excited this morning at the thought of finally having a go at this cache. It lived up to all expectations (except I didn't see any wetas). I don't like small spaces especially tunnels after the boys over the road shut me in one as a kid so that all added to the adventure. Very very satisfied to finally have completed this awesome cache. An obvious favourite for many many reasons. TFTC #6000
This was one of our highlights for many reasons! First, I watched this cache since Mr.KE made his 3000th find here. Second, it is always fun to visit such places Third, this was the first time I saw those huge, big cave Wetas and last but not least a big Robin was waiting for us at the entrance and landed on JoshThePirates shoulder Wasn't able to catch it with the cam, but it was amazing anyways

This one had been on the todo list for a long time. Finally, post lunch at the Blackball Hilton, Karma Reprint and I collected torches and wandered over the paddock. A quick decent down the slope to the entrance. We didn't find the WP but after going exploring in the rather obvious place, we didn't need to. Wow, the cave wetas in here were massive!
A wander along, you can't go wrong, and finally a hunt around led to success. Awesome, this was the highlight of the trip. Thanks MD for finding a great spot to put it out. Cheers

Wandered on down with all the kit we might need- sun hants and torches. Entrance quickly found and a wander through the tunnel brought us to a place we could go no further. Cahce found quickly and another smiley on a must do cache. Thanks MoneyDork. Found on a weekend trip to the Coast with Kiwi Moose. Thanks for the hide.

I had been wanting to come over caching to Greymouth for a while, since I had never yet been caching further than the West Coast CANZ cache!!
Spur of the moment, a trip was planned, and I decided to head off on Friday after work. However realised we had monthly after work drinks! Ah, stayed for that then, and then left.
This was one of the goals of this trip... I have had my eyes on this cache for a very very long time... since I found out about it... and then even more after I found out it would fill in a gap on my D/T grid!! (I found this out after also placing a cache in a cave, and by chance it has the exact same d/t ratings!! )
So I came here to make a try today... however before leaving home I forgot my torch... ah well. I have light from my phone!! This did make me a bit concerned, especially after seeing people wading through water in the cavern...
But decided that as long as water didn't come over my gummies, I could do it.
Tool was broken, but used some instinct, and crafty eyes. No water in the cave at all, but it was a little scary alone.
Totally worth it though once I spotted the container
Signed, and then gapped it out of that cave!! Very very very happy to be out in real land and not in dark shaddows once outside
Wooo hoo ticked off d/t spot!! only 4 to go now

On if the best gc I came along in nz but right now it is impossible to do it the way out its supposed to be done. Money dork please fix it, the cache is2 cool to
be ignored.

WOW, this is probably the most exciting cache in your country! Really cool ideas and very exciting spot. That's a cache to my taste!
It definitely needs more maintenance since the device did not work and even with new energy it might not work again. But when we were near the final we did not want to give up on that smile and my lovely companion found it without the help of the tool!
I hope that this cache becomes more famous since it is one of the best in NZ if you ask me!
Out: good fun, an exciting story to tell and a fantastic geocaching idear!
In: FP + fresh air + my stamp

Team_Gaters and I have planned a this trip over the last few months. We finally got to the business end of things and kicked off out West Coast raid. We had two days and a lot of boxes to tick. We started at 5am on Saturday morning and it took over 12 hours to get to Greymouth. We drove a lot, walked a lot and had a lot of laughs. We experienced 4 seasons and even contemplated aborting the mission as we were standing in icy cold weather freezing as the rain came pelting down in Arthurs Pass. We encountered matigouri, rosehips, blackberries, brambles, spainairds, baby gorse and old man gorse!!! Still finding parts of prickles in my skin! We also saw kea, weka, cave weta, tree weta, giant slugs, giant spiders in caves, west coasters, fat wood pidgeons, tui and a giant dragon fly. Had wet feet for nearly two days. Three FTFs and on of them was unpublished (first for me).
Freaking spectacular!!! This was a 'must do' cache. We headed to Blackball and drove past everything on the way. We wanted to get to the first WP in the day light to be on the safe side. We arrived at the field and parked up. We headed across the field and the grass was long it has been a while since the last game of rugby. We got soaked walking across the field. I don't think it matters. We were watched by a local as we crossed the field. We headed down a gully and knew what to look for. We found the WP and were surprised the coords were bang on considering the tree cover. We opened the WP and wasn't surprised at what we found. I doubt it would have worked. We headed in... Wow, the cave wetas and giant spiders were amazing. We were so stoked to be here. We headed further in and followed the 'path' the boulder was found and TG made the find. I was too busy looking in nooks and crannys. I'm amazed at the labour involved in these structures. The drops of water on the walls and ceiling looked like jewels. Great fun and am glad it is still in action. We covered up the cache and headed out with giant smiles. This ticks off a D/T box in my grid too as an extra bonus. Another favourite to join the increasing list. A 'must do' cache.
Awesome weekend. TG and I joked that going back to work would be a bit of a let down, so to combat that we would keep one foot in a bucket of water and the other one on top of a pin cusion, that should ignite the memories.
Thanks for the cache.

In Greymouth with TheWanglers on a caching weekend.
This was on our 'Must do' list. Made sure that we arrived with light left in the day, so that we could approach with full awareness (given the entrance terrain). Rugby field has clearly seen better days - knee high wet grass made for a slow trudge in - but all good. Excitement was high. As we neared the trees we looked back and there was a local back at the Parking spot watching us (maybe dog walking too?). No worries. Slip slided down (pleased to have the light of day)......and soon found the entrance. Checked the WP was there (just to make sure we were entering the correct hole - we'd spied another). WP was there, co-ords were good. Torches in hand away we went (not quite sure what to expect). Freaking awesome. Huge cave spiders, cave wetas....just unbelieveable gobsmacking....and to see the pick marks in the wall....what an effort that went into the mine. Even without the WP/tool, as per others, the cache was easily found. Just aweseom. Long may this cache last & I thoroughly recommend it to all.

This cache was one of the main reasons for my visit to Blackball today and I left it until last after finding all the others in the area. I had a bit of trepidation about doing it on my own but I needn't have worried. It was a beautiful fine calm day and it hadn't rained much for a while so everything was reasonably dry. With good waterproof tramping boots on I had no problems negotiating the mine tunnel, there was no more than about 5 cm of water in it and there were plenty of rocks to stand on that made it shallower than that. I did have spare torches with me but everything was fine, my main LED torch is waterproof and shock-resistant. The cache was a quick and easy find, almost an anticlimax. The whole thing was over and done with in only about 15 minutes - needed to spend a bit of time afterwards though at a nearby tap washing partly dried mud off myself. Definitely worth a favourite point though!
Have spent the last 3 weeks on holiday in the South Island and doing the odd cache along the way. This was one of the best caches I did on the trip. The kids were busy reading their books and Mrs Zorgon doesn't go underground so had to do it on my own. Got fairly wet at the tunnel entrance as there had been heavy rain overnight and there was a curtain of water still running over the opening. No problems working my way along the tunnel and finding the cache. Realised at the cache that I only had one torch - oops. The light fortunately stayed on but probably could feel your way out in the worst case scenario.
I highly recommend this cache.
Many thanks

On the way to Hokitika today and this cache popped up on our radar. Yes. Let's go via Blackball. Our auto-routing had rather strange ideas about the best approach - - - and we added to the excitement by using what turned out to be an unnecessarily precipitous approach near GZ. - - - It all added to the fun!
We were so pleased we had put this cache on our "must-do" list. Very cool. Oh yes, and another entry in the D/T grid. Many thanks

Caching ADVENTURES with Sidewaze... There is something to be said for not trying to go straight down to GZ and think you should go into the first hole in the ground you see...some people are so very keen to get to a cache they are trifle hasty. Then of course there is the chicken side of the team who is not at all hasty and errs on the side of extreme caution. However, eventually I donned the gumboots, strapped the headlight on and was very glad I didn't chicken out in the end. Very cool cache. A definite favourite favourite. TFTC
#360 - Went to get this cache about two years ago, but weren't prepared so didn't go in. Finally got back today with the required gear and back up (Big smoke and Little Horrible). Lost GPS signal pretty quickly so were starting to wonder if we'd gone to far or not far enough. First spot we looked in we found the cache! So we're rather pleased! Keep going (over the rocks lol) until you get to the water and low point. Was suprised to see another group of two had been there earlier in the day! A busy place today for a generally quiet cache! One of our favourites!!
Great one Were here without the required equipment a couple of years ago so great to come better prepared this time A fun one
Got all our gear together and we were off. After a scramble down the bank we arrived at the GZ. No electronic equipment found at entrance so decided to enter as other cachers had done. This would have to be one of my favourites. TFTC.
While at the Lincoln 12-12-12 Event this cache was brought up while talking about great caches, the exact words were "I cant believe you haven't done it yet" so with that in mind we put it on the to-do list. After grabbing a FTF this morning we were feeling adventurous and decided to go for it.
I rang my nephew and asked if he wanted so come and he agreed. When we arrived to pick him up his Mum wanted to tag along aswell. All 4 of us headed down under the goal post. I knew the electronics were long not working but was still curious so we found it before we went it. It is a great idea but I dont know how you intended it to stay waterproof. Cache was found with no trouble. Thanks for the adventure

Well now that rates right up there on our list of fun/scary geocaches. Possibly not the wisest move to be wearing jandals but in the end cause no issues. A throughly enjoyable cache and well worthy of the favourite points it has received and we will add one more to the collection! Thanks for an awesome experience! Loved it!!! TFTC

Oh No! Our holiday is drawing to a close. Day 18 and travelling from Hokitika to Greymouth today. Again no rain but a little overcast. Still nipping around in our little Corolla, Geo Hire Car with Flags flying - Getting noticed everywhere we go. lol....
Well we arrived in Greymouth and the pressing task after finding somewhere to stay was for Mr Felix to have a rest (not feeling well)
So Mrs Felix put some washing on and spent some time with GSAK whilst the chores were completed.
What do you know theres an achievable cache with 26 favourites nearby.... Hmmm see how Mr Felix feels in a while.
Chores completed Mr Felix got the nudge..... How you feeling up to some adventure? Always was the reply so off we set.
Well Mrs Felix managed to park the car and walk past the goal posts but that was as far as her knees were going. So Mr Felix continued on armed with 2 head torches a spare pocket torch and a UV torch for extra back up (is 4 enough) Camera too! Only took about 45mins from Car to Car including some EXTRA exploring.....
Hmmm here it is 3hours later and he is still going.....its amazing, how did they??? Amazing Pioneers weren't they!
Glad to find such a popular cache whilst in the area. shame it didn't help with our D/T Matrix but you get that.

I'd heard a lot about this cache so it was the reason for returning to Christchurch from Nelson via here. I also wanted it to fill another cell in the D/T grid. We weren't disappointed. Didn't read the logs so found the WP, then headed in through the curtain of water! Heard nothing but found the cache once we started to head back out. The kids get bored with most caches I stop at, but they thoroughly enjoyed this one. TFTC.

Now that was great. As we walked back to the car SoBad picked up an almost brand new golf ball. A top flite in perfect condition... made the cache worth a favourite.
True about the golf ball but the rest..
We have been caching since 2005, but had a break at the time this was placed and, almost unbelievably, had not heard about it until recently. It was the main target for the day... with all the special equipment in the car ready. Mrs S even had new, birthday present gumboots. Which were needed.
Reading the previous logs we didn't bother to look for the device at WP one... it was clear where we needed to go. Found what we thought might be the large rock and caching eyes did the rest.
Back whole and unbloodied... not bad for a D4 T5.
And it does get a favourite. SoBad does like golf.
Thanks.

The trip to do this cache was planned for some time and around the school holidays when we came down here to pick up grandchildren. It was decided right from the start they would get as much enjoyment from this as we would and so it turned out. This cache also completes requirements for BGSc 401 so it's now onwards to accumulate caches for the various elements of MGSc. A very enjoyable exercise, and much easier than I had been expecting, and certainly worthy of a favourite point. TFTC.
This cache has been on the list of 'have to's' for a while. Combined with a trip to pick up the grandchildren for the hols it was a great success. Prepared with enough light to last days and dry everything as backup in the car we set out to the goalposts. Obviously we picked up the kids first. With some hesitation we set out to find the mine entrance but soon got caught up in the challenge. No matter the rain that was had lately gummies kept the feet dry. The electronics were out of action as earlier mentioned in the logs but common sense together with perseverance paid off. A fav point well deserved. TFTC
#1,096: D/T Cell #71!
Woo hoo! What a great ride this was! I had been looking forward to doing this one, as so many people have told me how memorable it is. Also, I am working toward being able to satisfy the logging requirements for the Matagouri Challenge (71/81 D/T combos), and this one was one of the empty ones for me. So, it was most satisfying that I had the chance to get this one to put me at 71/81, and to be able to do it with my Dad, who is visiting from America. The weather was near perfect, with the long, wet grass on the Rugby field accounting for most of the wetness of our shoes. We met an older muggle hitting golf balls (while wearing his Wellies!) on the field, and chatted with him. He asked whether we were here to see the mine, and kindly directed us to the way in. The slope down was a little slippery (especially for my 76-year-old father), but we managed. Took a while to locate the box at Stage 1, but found it in the end. Then, with headlamps donned, we entered the mine. Saw one weta on some rocks about 5m in, but none after that. The floor was not as wet as I thought it would be (thank goodness), and we worked our way deeper and deeper, all the time trying the device. Alas, as others have written, the batteries are flat. I was able to make the find anyway without too much difficulty. Everything is in good shape, though in my excitement, I don't remember seeing the latter electro device in the cache. Anyway, this was an instant fav for me. My father commented that this is the strangest thing he's ever done -- and was laughing a lot. A great experience. Yet another place I never would have visited if not for geocaching!

What an interesting cache, lucky did not require the gummy s as was reasonable dry. Sending device batteries possibly flat. still found the cache with out it. Glad I'm not a miner. Thanks for a great cache.
Fantastic! This one is a must-do and is now in our top 5 of favourite caches worldwide. Appreciated the tip about the gumboots after two days of torrential rain! Very sad that the device doesn't work, but could still find the final easily without it. We replaced the AA batteries in the device in the final cache container, but didn't have the right battery for the first device - will contact the owner separately about this, as it would be twice as awesome if it could be maintained in working order. 10 out of 10 for ingenuity and fun! Took TB and went off to buy some Blackball salami and a haggis! TFTC.
WOUW WOUW and WONDERFUL.
It was by reading the comments of other caches when passing, that brings us to do this cache too. With no regrets at all.
This are the caches to go for. As all other cachers our way to the entrance was a bit more spectacular than the way back. We did find the device, flat batteries. No worries you can find it without.
We have really enjoyed our walking and lucky warned to not take only the tortch but also our stepping crocs. We even got wet to our knees (walked a bit too far hahaha)
Thanks for bringing us here and hope to do some more of your caches.
A favourite point from us. Left TB

Well we flew 3.5 hours and drove probably the same mainly to tackle this cache and fill in a hole on the difficulty/ terrain matrix.
Funny thing was, if not for caching we wouldn't have visited this lovely and interesting town.
As it turned out it was the one year anniversary of the Pike River Mine Disaster so plenty of people around but a sombre mood in town.
I was worried how long the cache might take but once the entrance was found it didn't take too long to venture in and come across the cache.
A fantastic experience and thanks for setting this one up!

An interesting cache,Sadly the batteries for the electronics are flat. However using some common sense i found the cache and signed,TFTC
Found our way to this "must"do cache that we had ear tagged for this trip - wandered to first waypoint and right all go to the next stage and off we went - soon found our electronic device ( that we already had worked out didnt work but did tell us we were in the right spot ) it was at this point that we remembered we hadnt put our trusty gumboots on - so trudged all the way back to the car to remedy this !!! went back and I was dubious as caves etc arent normally my first choice (heights and dark being my other uncomfortables lol but on we went and having Stretch0 with me - we acheived getting in there and finding the cache quickly - sloshing and dirt were only pluses that helped make this a GREAT cache - signed log and Stretch0 snaffled the geocoin - was pleased to see daylight again but SO enjoyed this cache - Thanks for bringing us here
Had been eyeing this one up for awhile and when it was decided for the trip down this way I was determined we would be having ago for this one. Checked out all i could before leaving and made sure we had all the required equipment. Arrived at the first waypoint and then trudged off to find our way to to find the on site equipment left to complete the cache. Unfortunately the electronics wasn't working but we moved on ahead after a quick dash to grab our boots which we had forgotten in our haste to do the cache. All prepared we headed in and soon found the cache after splashing and slipping our way to it. Seamed a far shorter way out then in and we emerged with big smiles on our faces and another one in our stats. Thanks for this cache I place it up there with the best of cahces TFTC
TFTC. So much fun to had getting wet and dirty!! Loved this cache from beginning to end. Thanks to Moneydork for dreaming up this great cache. The electronics failed to make a connection so we did it the old fashioned way - with number eight wire!!!
Been on the radar for a while and made an effort to get it while doing a spot of caching in Greymouth area. OK we made a meal of it - did not find the easiest route down to the enterence going over the side. Found the electronic device - that turned out not to be working. Made our way to the very end only to find this out! The water got deeper and the fun more interesting. Then using a little bit of common sense worked out where it could be and bingo we were sorted. It was simply the very best cache we have ever done just fantastic. We were muddy wet and felt like true Geocachers (eg tackling King Billy Island !) LG just loved it & could not stop talking about it was the highlight of our trip. Thanks LGM

This cache has to be the highlight of the trip for the whole family. Actually just going back to mythical Blackball after probably 40 years was cool enough for Mr H. Last time would have been in the early 70's in the old family Vauxhall. At WP1 we were a bit worried about head room and wet feet but this was soon replaced by fear of wetas down the back of the neck. As it was we only saw a couple of little ones and we made sure they didn't hitch a ride. The locating device was offline but found cache with ease and signed log. Rough calculations suggested we were still in the dead ball area but thoroughly enjoyed this cache nonetheless.
Our third visit and finally success.
Pity the "device" has stopped working again. We were looking forward to that part.
TFTC - Good fun.

Great to finally do this cache! Lovely afternoon for it, and it ended up being a nice walk to GZ. We had a guide, but even he couldn't show us where the cache was when he first did it. However, after turning around, the cache was found straight away. Saw a weta and a couple of fun guys. Nicely done. Cheers Gav [7374]
This cache was definitely easier with a guide although even he had some trouble due to "cache creep"We all had the equipment required and it was a competition of who had the biggest and brightest! Then it was lights out inside it was dark!! Cool TFTC
What a cool cache. Enjoyed doing this one while on holiday at Nelson Creek. Note: as mentioned by other cachers the electronic device is not working but with some thinking and looking around the final cache can be found.
When in the cache location turn off your torch just to see how dark it really is.

Had this one targeted as a must do on this trip to the coast but was worried about closed spaces and wading and then not finding the cache. Found the first waypoint and instrument easy but as previous notes indicated it is not working but managed to find the cache anyway. Got wetter and muddier than necessary but glad to have this cache of the to find list. TFTC
unable to make device work. had to look in every nook and cranny on the way out. even found an old cache note and plastic bag. found cache eventually. tftc
