A DNF for me as well. Found a likely hiding spot at the posted coordinates, but it was empty. Interesting spot though, and well worth the visit.
We tried. I’m either getting really bad at finding caches or it was washed away in the floods?
Shame I didn't have service to log it at the time. Love the history of the area.

This was the second of 3 finds for the day. After finding 'Classic Motorcycles # BMW K1200S', Geodad and I turned around and headed back towards this cache. We realised that we needed to turn off the road and from there it was clear to see the area reflecting convict construction. Geodad stayed behind but I made the short walk to GZ, admiring the hard work and labour of the convicts. The cache was easy to spot from the original road and so the log was quickly signed. SLTNLN. Up here with the scouts for a bike ride down to circuit flat bridge and decided to have a look for this cache.
We bring the scouts here every year foe Clean Up Australia Day and none of us have ever found this!
Thanks for the Cache!

Thank you for taking us to this historical site, amazing and always interesting to read. Quick find by geo hubby
Been past here a few times without realising the hidden history near by. Thanks for making us stop. Amazing what the convicts achieved by hand.
Thanks for maintaining the cache

A nice little wander, quick look at the wall, amazing that it is nearly 200 years old, then off for a quick, stand out find. TFTC.
Found with Crafty Dusty and the geopooch Pippa on a weekend away from Sydney to Tamworth. Loved this cache! It’s exactly why I love geocaching. It’s educational, interesting, and shows you things you would never have known about and driven past unwittingly. Fave point from me. TFTC!
Found 5:26 pm with partner. On another, small something to do road trip with partner, I decided spur of the moment to head out to Wollombi Tavern and have her try out Dr Jurds jungle juice. We ended up with a large bottle of it. So of course when I got the chance and on the return journey I had to try and find some caches. This cache was fair to find a bit of bush bash and then a SPOR led me to find the cache. Signed the log and returned the cache to its hide.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found with Shaneo58 doing some caching around Wollombi and the Watagans.
Easaly spotted for a quick find.
Log signed and caches replaced as found.

Found it with BillHill531. The convicts did it hard didnt they. A fav for me . TFTC Riptide.
Out today for a drive to Wollombi, this was my first caching stop. An enjoyable educational walk along this section of the convict road and a quick find once at GZ. Good to see this old cache still going strong. Many thanks for the hide.
My 'plan' for today was to head towards "Mimics Lie" (which I NOW realise is about 10Km east of this cache) and the LMHS series, but had run out of phone reception and mapping ability, and was starting to figure I had missed a turn somewhere. I pulled over at the nearby T to try to figure out where I was. I knew I was going totally the wrong way when I realised this cache was closeby, as I hadn't noticed it in my (apparently very dodgy) 'planning'. Only one thing to do then, find the cache!
This is another place I never would have known existed except for geocaching, quite a nice little area they should add a picnic table. A short walk and I quickly spotted the cache location. Good sized cache with some nice loot. TNLNSL. Replaced as found. TFTC!

Well, this is the most caches I’ve grabbed in a day for a while. And I needed to watch the clock so I could be back at the SCG in time for tonight’s NRL game.
I’d noted the 360 badge recently added to BadgeGen, and was a bit low on numbers near 0 degrees. Interestingly, I could fill in a few spots by driving to Wollombi. So I did!
Of course your numbers for this are only as good as your current home base - move and you start again. But I have no intention of moving anywhere anytime soon.
Went for 16 and found 15 of them.
And part way through I started following **Riokun** around. Or maybe we were going in opposite directions.
But a good day. Now to sit back and watch some footy.

Was out for a walk and quickly checked to see if anything was nearby. Very glad I did! Cool hiding spot
Out avoiding all the corona virus stories . Great spot for a cache it’s been many years since I been here
TFTC, SL, TN, LN.
Out visiting a friend who's never cached before & he spotted it first! Fantastic piece of history, looking forward to finding the rest.

Needed a cache for Trodecus while we were camping. As this was not too far, we decided to tackle it. Parked car just off the road and walked to GZ, after a short search, cache was located. Log signed and returned. TFTC
Found with Coybear2000. We were camping nearby with friends and we decided to head out for a cache or two. We parked and walked to GZ and soon had CIH. Log signed and cache replaced and we decided to head on to another nearby. TFTC.
After a great day out with friends where we went along Murray's Run and to the Wollombi and Kulnura areas we stopped here for a final look at the Convict Road construction.
How lucky was that!
We were mainly looking at the landscapes of the area, the historic and beautliful houses and our beautiful birds.
So it was a bonus for me to stop here where I could pick up this cache.
A quick find and a great location to see this amazing construction here at Ramsey's Leap.

We soon found this cache once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for having bought us to this very interesting location. Greetings from Zimbabwe
Have driven past here many times and not ever stopped. Interesting piece of colonial history - would have been a tough slog through here. TFTC - should be visited more often
Travelling to Sydney from Brisbane and having stayed in Cessnock last night, I was looking forward to today's caches. What a fantastic spot to place a cache! History, history and history. Cache found. Give a FP for the historical significance of this area and if it wasn't for caching I would not have come here. TFTC Riptide
Found with Beary_Unicorns on a very hot Wednesday morning. Missed this one a couple of months ago when I drove past, planned on getting it on the way back, but didn't come back this way. Very interesting seeing how hard the work would have been back in the 1830s. Dropped off a TB to continue its travels. Visited TBs, tftc.
On a trip to drop off Christmas presents to the NSW family, and to see our new great granddaughter and now the long trip home. This cache provided a perfect excuse to travel slowly and grab a cache or two. Thanks Riptide for the stop off and chance to stretch our legs. The history was great and the site well worth a visit. A fav point from us

Great cache! Thanks for bringing us here, some really great history! Nabbed the travel bug
TFTC. Loved the walk today along this old road I have wanted to explore for ages. The wattles were in full bloom and the sun was out. Found on my way home from Sydney.
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
So interesting looking at the construction of this road, the kerbing and guttering, and comparing it with Cox's Road in the Blue Mountains. Tftc!
Coming home from Orange via the Great North Road, we stopped in here to look at this fascinating piece of history, and of course, find a geocache. This one was an easy find - TFTC!
Thanks for sending us to this fascinating spot! Would've missed it otherwise. Nice to take the paved road, i must admit, rather than try to make it back to Sydney along this one! TFTC!
Coming here reminded us of a time 30 something years ago when we drove up the old north road with a Subaru car club. Today we came here in our Geoforester . A quick find behind a suspicious pile of wood. TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache
We were driving back to Sydney today after a couple of days in the valley, and took the scenic route because it had a lot of caches along the way.
It turns out that we, tourists from the USA, had been to this place before on a tourist trip out of Sydney. Historical, educational and inspirational. I followed the GPS until the geo-senses tingled, and there it was.
I left a little memento of the USA.

A great spot to stop and have a look at some of the historic artifacts and the remains of some of the Convict Trail. I would really like to explore this area a bit more in future and see more things.
How sad that the whole project was a doomed venture in some parts, and that a lot of the road structure wasn't used for more than a few years. However, there are other parts that are still part of the main road through here now -- just goes to show the endurance of the amazing handiwork done by those convicts.
I had a quick stroll up the old part of the trail and soon spotted the container which wasn't very well covered with camo. Hence, the easy find, but the compass on the GPSr was pointing there in any case.
Nice finding one of the older caches again, and one that has a container that's a decent size. I had a look through the log books, reading about some of the earlier finds. Now it seems the etiquette is merely a date and name to mark our find, and not much more than a TFTC on the website ...
Once I had added my name and returned the container, I added some more camo so that it wasn't as visible from the old road. Then I had a closer look at the stonework and the culvert nearer to where I had parked, before heading back to the car for our onward journey.

12:46:00 PM. A pleasant walk to this cache. Better half spotted it. I dodged the ants and the log was signed. Interesting history through here. Thanks Riptide for the cache.
Found on my way up to the Hunter Valley for a few days.
An interesting spot.

On our way to the Hunter Valley we stopped here for a short walk.
But well, we took the wrong parking place.
So we walked through the bush for a short way.
We found the cache at 11.20 a. m. yes, we saw a wallaby nearby. Great experience.

We really enjoyed this cache, and the history that we walked through to find it. Ellie snagged this one! Found with Kylie and Ellie. #41
Tftc, went on a georoad trip with Azzepious today. Initial plan was to head to Cattai and grab some from there then to the Windsor area. Well, we ended up changing our minds and heading to Broke up the Putty Road instead!
This was our return journey! Our GPS was playing up down here and we found ourselves overshooting the caches a few times and having to turn around to get them a few times. Otherwise a lovely trip in a lovely part of NSW!

Took the bush route instead of the easy walk lol found nice and quickly once I made it to GZ TFTCSL
A very interesting location and excellent old wall. We enjoyed walking up the old road and admiring the convict cut drain. Dropped off a TB. TFTC
Good to read about the interesting history and walk around the old road. TFTC
Australia Day fun with the geokids. Setting out from Newcastle to Wisemans Ferry before putting the car on the ferry and heading home. Great day, great discoveries, great history.
Hard times, great work, beautiful road!
I sure will check the website.
Thanks Riptide!

Found at 1148. Ended up in the Cessnock area yesterday and will be staying here for over a week. Nice to catch up with a bit of history. TFTC.
Great area for geoing will come back to get more another day ran out of time TFTC
I walked the road and, thank goodness, i wasn't a convict. Great location for a cache so it will get fave. Here with HennyGeo on holidays from Vancouver Island Canada . TFTC
This is an interesting remnant of our history. Road making sure was very hard physical work in those days. Just as well it was not so hard finding this cache and even easier to sign log and replace where it was found. Thank you to Riptide for showing us this work from days gone by. It gets a favourite point from us for the interest aspect of the area.
Out today to get a few more on the classic motorcycle and the tweety bird runs. TFTC
Geohubster and I are child free for three days to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Headed to the hunter we decided to head to Wollombi for lunch and some Dr Jurds and this was a perfect place to stretch our legs. Makes you realise how different life must have once been when you visit places like this - I feel for those you made this road. Great little hidden spot, TFTC.
Today we drove from Broke to Mangrove Creek Dam and had 40 finds and 4 DNFs. We had a great day! TFTC
Find #674
After our trip into Yengo to find 'From the Dreamtime' earlier this year, we
decided to explore further south today, so planned a route from home to Broke, then south through Paynes Crossing, Wollombi, Laguna, Bucketty, Kulnura and on to Mangrove Creek Dam. We then had an interesting drive home through Brush Creek Road through Yarramalong, so we now know where our next day out will take us...
Final stats for the day read at 40 finds, 4 DNFs and 280km traveled.
This was one of our destination caches for the day, a great demonstration of our history for my son, a nice little walk to break up the park and grabs too..... Would be a nice spot to stop for lunch.
