Logs

20-Oct-24
Keenes family C 19/10/24 could not write log because it was waterlogged

25-Aug-24
Today was finally the day that we explored these tracks by bike. We have previously driven the beginning of the track by car but wisely reversed out at the first big pothole. It was fairly muddy today and there werent many campers along the river but many might have left due to the extreme weather forecast for this afternoon. There were some great river views and some fascinating campsites. We found the cache safely tucked away in place. Thanks Jacks crew for an enjoyable cache.

20-May-24
Log is wet so we returned it good hunt with the kiddos

10-Apr-23
The mega is over but wait there’s more caches to be found!

Out on another adventure with fleabag- and spiffy-

Log signed as SFK to save space

thanks for the placement and fun time

10-Apr-23
Good opportunity to check out the local camp scene. Tftc

10-Apr-23
Off to the Mega with Spiffy- and many others. All caches have been presolved in the 14 month lead up and other interesting caches flagged for collection to assist with various challenges or just because they looked fun!

Today was random caching and this was on my to do list as we liked the location.

Thanks to Jacks crew for the fun and the adventure.

10-Apr-23
Very happy to be heading to another Mega and this year we took leave the day before and after Easter to make it much more relaxing and enjoyable. Have to do that next Mega as well.
Today we were doing the bike trail on the scooters and lastly beginner challenges. All were found safe and sound with no DNFs. Much fun was teaching Kristy to ride the scooter and she did well going through the bush for the challenge caches on it!
Thanks Jacks crew for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

09-Apr-23
We stopped at the end of the dirt road. Given the current condition of the road we are not going to drive the car through all those pot holes in the rain. Those holes look deep in parts on a 4x4.

09-Apr-23
My poor RAV4 needed to do a little 4WD to make it to this cache. We actually found the original cache, full of water and not in great condition. Managed to get our signature on the saturated logbook, then it was back to dodging huge potholes and puddles to the road.

Thanks for bringing us here today Jacks crew.

09-Apr-23
Well it is finally time for The Rutherglen Mega and I was able to take a couple of extra days off work and come up early so I could get the most out of the Easter break.
After 4 big days and evenings the Mega is semi over as it has all been pack up.
A couple of events today as well as a few randoms and also chasing the clues for the FTF series so I can do them after lunch.
I have lost my caching buddy GemmaSistema as she had to head back home so I’m riding solo in this morning.
Day 5 and I’m heading off in all directions but I’m also heading back to Corowa to call in at the Whiskey factory to pay it a visit.
After crossing the bridge back into Victoria I turned down into here to look for this one.
Plenty of water lying around after Fridays rain and I’m guessing this area would have been under water during the floods.
Plenty of people in here camping but the cache is far enough away from them all.
Thanks to the McLookers for replacing it as well.

Thanks Jacks crew TFTC.

08-Apr-23
In the area attending the Rutherglen Mega event catching up with gwd.aussie, Sharon14 and Mezza74. After spending the morning caching the BBP series cherry picking caches this afternoon to achieve as many types in the day as I can and any other caches that may pop up in between.

A very popular camping location but luckily the cache was far enough away from them all.

Log sheets, if not signed with d@geo signed with the team name gds+m.

Thanks Jacks crew

08-Apr-23
In the area for the Rutherglen Mega. Teamed up with GWD.aussie, D@geo and Mezza74 to find some caches. Log sheets, if not signed with Sharon14 signed with the team name gds+m , S14. Thanks jack crew

08-Apr-23
Lots of campers caching on the way to the cache.
After the rain, there was a few muddy parts of the road, to drive though (fun)

To save time and to not take up room on the logs we sometimes signed as GDS+M
Gwd.aussie = G , D@geo = D , Sharon14 = S , and Mezza74 = M
And other times with sign with our normal or shorted caching names.

Thank you for the hide Jacks crew

08-Apr-23
Found the new cache by McLookers this morning. Nice place. Quite the tent city around here at Easter. Tftc.

On a trip out from the Mega base to find our 1st NSW cache. This area is heaving today - not my idea of RR but obviously is for many. Many thanks for placing & McLookers for re-placing

06-Apr-23
Saw this cache may not have survived the floods late last year so I was armed with a replacement in case. Sent a message to the CO with maintenance offer. There is no doubt the whole area would have been completely underwater. Left a new container (recently acquired at Rutherglen Mega) and covered it with some natural camo. Message to CO: pls delete my log if you see fit.
Thanks for placing the cache Jacks crew.

06-Apr-23
No luck today either.

14-Mar-23
Unfortunately I had no luck finding this one today. Maybe next time

14-Mar-23
Might have been taken by floods?

Out and about on this Beautiful sunny day catching up on a few caches on the other side. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC

17-Jul-22
Yep, it's not hard to dig a hole... beautiful place spoilt by inconsiderate people. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC

09-Jul-22
We were able to access this area easier than we thought on a great foggy morning.
Unfortunately the bushmen down here were very unfriendly thinking that they owned the place and that wasn’t the worst of it.
They obviously don’t bring a Porta loo either. They are having a disgusting impact… not even digging a hole! We can not describe the mess we found very close to the cache.
We hid it very well back in its hidey hole so that one of these so called bushmen may not accidentally find it.
The contents were dry. The double container system working well.
We did love this location. It’s just a shame about some idiots.
TFTC

04-Jul-22
Found with Maccamob.
Unfortunately some nearby muggles decided to use GZ as the facilities !!

23-Jun-22
While staying at Rutherglen on our fifth day the rain slowed down allowing us to tackle the BBP series. While we were doing this trail we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.

A nice place to visit, some muggles camping by the fast flowing Murry river. Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Corowa - Rutherglen
Today will be our last day caching in Victoria.
We have made our base at Ball Caravan Park Corowa for a few days
Lots of history & wineries in this area. Geocaching has been a wonderful way for us to explore this region.
I was surprised the number of campers enjoying their time along the river bank
Quick find once we reached GZ
Thankyou Jacks crew for placing this cache.

17-Jan-22
This sure is a nice spot along the river. We passed a few folk fishing as we made our way to GZ.
We’d read the previous finder’s comments and brought along some spares. We tipped the water out of the cache and dried everything out except the logbook is sodden. We left it in place in its open bag (perhaps it’ll dry out eventually) and dropped in a replacement log inside a small sistema.

Thanks for the cache and sharing this spot with us Jacks crew.

13-Jan-22
A beautiful quiet place to ride. The cache has collected water and the logbook was saturated. Tried to sign but it was more of an indentation than ink. TFTC Jacks crew.

06-May-21
Suscoe headed out today for a caching trip to the Wahgunyah and Rutherglen area.
It was a brilliant day with delightful sunshine and a mild breeze. We think the highest temperature in the car was 27 degrees during the afternoon.
How good can it get for a May day.
We enjoyed the travels, the variety of locations and the caches.

Thanks to JAcks crew for showing us this area, we enjoyed the quiet wander along the river track. A few campers along the way.

Very happy to drive up from Wangaratta today to find this old timer. Caught a break in the rain and didn’t slip and slide to much in the mud on the drive in. Cache was found quickly and I made my mark on the newish log sheet. Dropped a few TBs off here to continue their travels from.

I haven't been down here for years, I remember when this track went for miles and miles towards Goramadda. A great location I love seeing all the Red Gums and their contorted ways of growing
Thumbs up to the CO for the location.
TFTC SL took some memories left some footprints TBV *we left Louie (?) out to stretch his legs from the cache and realised he was holding a blunderbuss so now it looks like he is hunting! Oh and we thought the satellite image for the cache area was cool with the speedboats captured on the river

03-May-15
