This was my first placement way back in 2006 when I first started uni in Christchurch and had less than 50 finds to my name. The container was replaced so many times over the years and found by cacher and muggle alike, all of who signed the log. It is sad to see it go, but it appears to be gone and I cant replace it from Canada. So, I am freeing up the space for someone else to put a new and improved cache in the area.
Seems to be gone, only thing we could find was an empty nail. I've even searched the mud underneath but nothing.
(picture might contain spoiler so look for yourself first)

Smallest geocache we found to date. Shame the water damage has destroyed the logbook beyond being able to log
Found after the Ilam garden multi as a bycatch. We could see the cache from some angles before being able to grab it; with the wet weather today it would not have been too nice to crouch. As others have noted before, the log book is wet and quite unusable.

Me and my family found it but all the log books are full and soaked. We couldn't even get them out.
4 of us found this, on a cool winters afternoon. TFTC
Paper was completely soaked - might need some maintenance.

We enjoyed finding this cache. We were unable to write in the log as has disintegrated.
Was about to give up when I spotted it! Unfortunately the log is FUBAR ;-;
After being fouled by another traditional cache, I needed to find this today (to fill in a dot day). Had several people walk over the bridge while I was locating this, and I felt like a right troll when crawling out from under the bridge to find some people waving at me. Log book is very wet and just about unusable

After work, - and well of course that means lets go caching time!!! So we decided to do a cache or two around the uni in this lovely weather.
And given the brother works at the uni, we called him to come join us. So him, mum & I, wondered around sorting this out.
I'm surprised I only got round to finding this now! This has been on my radar for so long!! But lovely to finally clear it off the map
TFTC!!

I was out trolling about the area at night keen to find a cache or two or ... and so I wandered over to this one and made a quick find after disturbing some people letting off fireworks. Weird there were a few fireworks going off tonight...no idea why.
Thanks looking4thebroc.

First geocache. Even with the hint, there was some level of difficulty. Thanks
Lucky me that I was wearing my troll protection necklace today found the cache without getting attacked by a troll! Thanks a lot! Great hiding place!
First geocache in New Zealand! Thanks for the cache from a Canadian on walkabout!
I managed to get on a work trip to Christchurch for two weeks but was faced with a dilemma. Do I go for quantity or quality? I didn't have a vehicle to use all to myself so was somewhat limited to what I could get. In the end I just found what I could when I could but the webcam and the virtual were top of my list.
A few of the others wanted to head into the city so I asked to get dropped off at the uni and would make my way into town with the aim to grab the webcam.
This was the first cache of the day. Took a while to find the right path to lead to the final but got there in the end. I had just put the cache back when someone walked by. Very close to being muggled!!
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

First cache in NZ! Found while strolling in the late afternoon. A new logbook would be great tftc
Out for a ride with my sister picking up a couple of evening caches.
A quick find.

Found it quickly as I know we're they live! Found one just like this back home in Tasmania. TFTC
Found while out and about walking off Xmas leftovers! I thought I'd logged these from our GPSr but apparently hadn't so 4 months later a logging I will go! TFTC!
Staying at college house for World Bowls. Eventually put my hand on this one

Find #2618. Taking a short holiday in Christchurch to explore the city by bike and collect caches. Quick find but the log book was too wet to sign. Beautiful gardens. TFTC
I was a resident of the nearby College House for two years when I was a student and must have walked across this bridge hundreds of times. In those days (it quite possibly still is) it was a tradition to "river" people from this bridge for various reasons (riding a bike across the quad, having bare feet in the dining room or if it was your birthday). And I did end up in the river on several occasions, although I don't remember it being nearly so low in back then. It's very nice to be back for a trip down memory lane and show my son the place where I used to live. TFTC!
Great find at a great serene location. No pen as always (gotta work on that lol) but log is a tad damp.
Log is saturated. Water in cache. Sorry nothing to dry it with and no spare paper. Tftc
I first did a quick visual inspection and didn't see anything. Had to feel around to find this cache
Really quiet here today. Easy find but log is wet and an obvious replacement bit of paper. Perhaps CO can check it out. Clever container though. TFTC
Quick find on way in to work last week, sorry for late log. Cheers for the cache and stroll by the river in the quiet university holiday period. Avoid this area during freshers week, I'd say!!
Found it #31

Log dry. Photographing local ducklings was a good diversion for a passing groundsman.
Tftc! Having the children with us certainly helped, great first cache for a friend we took with us
Took us forever to find entry point to walk to this cache. ..but- after much discussion, we got to gz .....before we found gz Warwick was thinking he might get wet but creek bed dry...! Cute hiding place ....won't easily be swept away !!!!!.
Guess who was sent in to get this. We had a vote, I won but still had to go. Ah well. Tftc
At great cost and personal inconvenience on behalf of a group of elderly residents found cache and recorded our presence as "MS"
found this cache after doing the multi-cache in ilam gardens. it wasn't an easy find for me due to feeling quite confused about where it was hidden. but, after fully looking, i saw something and it was the cache. no water around which was odd but it was a nice day. thank you.
A very squelchy cache to find and a challenge to extract the log sheet, thanks for placing!
Tried this before, but too many muggles around. Today obviously everyone decided to avoid the strong winds and stayed inside. We wanted to walk a bit around, so Ilam Gardens was on the agenda as well as some caches around. However, we have to come back in about a week or so to enjoy the colours. Quick find, but where is all the water? TFTC
We stomped across the field to gz an were really pleased it wasn't muddy. Hadn't been round here before, was nice quick find. TFTC
Out on a chilly night caching around the University. First time I've been here. Beautiful unexpected spot. Took me a few moments before I spied the nicke hidden cache. TFTC
Looked on, around, and under the bridge to no avail. Hopefully I can find it another day!
5 of 6 today. Quite hard to get to...
I'd sooner think trolls would be among the area's more amiable inhabitants... given the prevalence of students!

Just located this cache. Grey hiding spot. Maybe the hint is a bit too easy! Fun little find. Signed and hidden again. Got caught in the act by two other cache seekers. Sorry
Looks like this area got a rough time when the earth moved but certainly helps caches. A great spot for a cache but luckily didn't bump into any trolls.
Spent a good 10 or 15 minutes wallowing around in the mud looking for this cache but sadly couldn't find it. Looked under the bridge and all around the bridge to no avail. Hopefully I can find it another day
Thanks for this cache in a lovely spot which we somehow had never visited despite close connections to UC! Must come back in spring... We feared we'd get mucky, but that fear proved unfounded. There was even space in the camo for our calling card. A succesful Waitangi Day geocaching.
