As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Does this cache still exist? Will it be re-enabled? Seems to have been out of action for a long time.
Returning again..... will it be three visits to the capital in a row, without a chance to find this one?
Oh dear, this was unavailable the last time we came to visit Welly - and still is, on our next visit.
Looking forward to doing this historic cache soon.

Found it... the cow TB was swimming so I decided to take him with me. This cache definitely needs maintenance! TFTC.
Took a bit of navigating around to finally get to the right area. Cache is very wet inside and notebook is getting damp. SL swapped trackables and left TB cow. TFTC
[I wasn't entirely sure about the best way to access this one, but decided to stride boldly yet with an unthreatening demeanour (!) through the grounds of Wellington College since this seemed to be the best option (sorry if I did wrong). I was able to head in the right direction (how cool would it be to have your own observatory at school!), and reached the fun part: the gorse, of course. I had the GPSr saying GZ was about 3-4m further north from where I found the cache (which is acceptable), so my hint is:] it's about 5-6m in from the track[. Anyway the views were great, although it was quite cool up there. Unfortunately I didn't have room to take any of the TBs etc, so they are still languishing. Thanks for the cache James NZ.]
spooky walk after dark. great view. cache was a few meters further from the path. + GC - TB's and GC that had been there for a while. SL.TFTC
Happy to be able to finally knock this cache off our to do list. Today was a beautiful day for a walk and we met a few walkers, who were obviously enjoying the great weather too. When we arrived at GZ, there was no one about, which made the hunt more enjoyable as we hunted around and enjoyed the great views. Was surprised by the amount of TBs in the cache; looked like a TB motel. Took a TB and left a GC. Contents all appeared in good order, the log book was only a little damp. The previous cacher did a good first aid job on the cover. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found it, although was a bit wet inside. Removed plush TBs and three TB's my son thought were interesting, no point in arguing with a four year old. Put lid back on,only to hear a nice cracking sound as the lid gave way. Maybe that was where the water was coming in?
Tricky to find until I zoomed in GPS!
No geocoins found
Taped the top as best we could, but will still need maintenance.

Was totally exposed when i found it with one side of lid detached. Moved on the TBs and coins that i had room for and stashed it as well protected as possible. I see another cacher has informed the owner of damp.

[Longer than expected lunchtime walk to blow the cobwebs out. Good view from location I didn't know about. Couldn't lock coords very well so much scrabbling about, some of it uncomfortable, all of it unnecessary! Eventually found cache. If you've read the hint and you still can't find it,] look for a dead one. [TNTLSL. TFTC.]

The cache was not quite where I expected - so many choices! Found on 3rd visit to GZ. I do love hunting around in gorse for a cache - not!

Had to give up last time due to time issues - came back today with Miowmix, took us some time, but finally found it. TFTC!
This one is a great cache - long walk both ways - grounds were really wet due to the past rain - saw only a couple of mountain bikes so no muggles around. The pain was the gorse - very sharp and very much dangerous - warnings beware. Cool spot for views of Wellington. TFTC TNLNSL
Gorsey, and freezingly cold after the wintry blast up from the south but nice to have a distraction. Final retrieval by the intrepid Scoop81. Though the GZ location was fine for us, placement need gorse and toitoi bushes should be avoided. Firstly, in nearly all cases it is unnecessary, and secondly, it makes a cache less accessible. This is ok, but feedback as with below is useful.
Bitterly cold and I am not so fond of the placement of the cache near and around so much gorse but a good cache nonetheless.
Ha,
Could've done with the "Last Cache of the Day" Geocoin. We missed the start of the Netball, 'cause "There was just one more to do". Never mind - Thanks for the cache (and the prickles)

Spent a delightful 45 minutes being gored by gorse and gave up when ran out of light Suggest not making it a 24/7 cache and move it from the gorse
#104 We don't like gorse. Mr H had to search under virtually every gorse bush around GZ, while Mrs H was waiting by the track. It was more difficult than expected. Good sunny and hot day even in April!

Found it this time!! Found out it had moved after previous attempt. Not too many gorse prickles this time!! Cool location and good views too.
Another stunning wellington day! Enjoyable despite the ouch factor (probably should have worn shoes...).
Nice spot for a hide and great views too. Interesting old buildings nearby. Eek to the gorse, but didn't collect much retrieving the cache.
Note to previous finder - you should only log caches once! Check extensive discussion on the Forums regarding this. TFTC

Me too. Could I ask you to put a note in the description that alerts people to the fact its been moved. Unless you compare coordinates the quick pre-hunt check to make sure its still active is a waste of time. I'll try again another day.
Didn't find it because we didn't realise it had been moved until we got back here and read the logs - can you update the actual cache location, to avoid this happening to other people too, please?
Thanks
Thanks
A not so useful clue on this one and a rather prickly retrieval, enjoyed the walk all the same. Thanks.
(1530hrs) Decided to find it once more since it was moved. Also I hadn't been to the top of the hill to see what was there.
Well my first attempt was an action without thinking. My GPSr said it was on one side of the path. So without thinking about it or the fact that I was having to take a little leap across the gorse. The lead to me been in the situation of thinking ohh noo, I am going to land in the gorse!
Luckily I had some tweezers and a needle on me so I could pull and dig out most of the bits of gorse in my hands. Though I was still digging some out a few days later.
After pulling out gorse from my hands for 15 minutes or so on this sunny but extremely windy day I went for a second attempt and used my brain! After a quick look I found it..
NOTE TO VISITORS - You DON'T need to ever have both feet leave the ground at one time. Stepping over gorse may be needed.

After a little walk up through Wellington College I reached GZ and after a quick search I found it.
It's an interesting spot that I never really knew about. I've always been able to see Government house and wondered about the fence around it.
TNLNSL TFTC
A muggle came down the hill on his bike then stopped, turned round and walked back up while I was approaching the cache. Also I swear there was someone at the top of the hill above sitting there.
This place has a lot of rubbish around and would be a good place for CITO.
Also as previously mentioned the cache has obviously been discovered by muggles, due to the obscene notes written in the log book. Suggestion for moving the cache.

I chose poorly where to exit from Alexandra Rd and took the long, long, bush bashing route over hill and dale. It was a wonderful adventure and a great introduction to the Town Belt's secrets. Josh's Jeep Travel Bug dropped me off after a long drive from Annapolis, Maryland and I picked up the Too Hot TB. What a view! TFTC (95)

Dropped off Too Hot Baby Penguin TB. Needs a ride to Christchurch, heading for Antarctica via Deep Freeze Supply Base.
Visited this one as a family group, arrived puffing after pushing toddler buggy up hill through soggy wet grass.
Well worth the visit for spectacular views. The cache seemed rather exposed so tried to conceal it a bit better. Thanks for taking us to this great spot. TNLN

Did this one at night after finally finding Travel Bug's Wraith Refuge (scrambling around a forest at night with only a cellphone for light was a fun and unique caching experience, but I don't exactly recommend it) - the walk over didn't take that long, and finding the cache was very easy. Nice spot to hide it; doubt many muggles are going to go looking underneath gorse.
Spectacular views from the cache site and the surrounding area. Had a nice adventure on the walk home, choosing a route we'd never gone before to find ourselves down on Adelaide Road.

After having visited the GG's house today, partaken of his hospitality, and having even shaken the good man's hand, I simply had to do this cache today - despite being pretty late by the time I got free. Still - it's a nice view at night too. TNLN, Thanks.

Other than the climb up here, this wasn't too hard to find. Took nothing, but sitting in the only shade up here I found a nice bit of purple glass which I assume fell out of the cache. I put the glass back in.

I came up from the college, and went the wrong way. Instead of taking the correct path, I continued on up the road a ways. Not wanting to have to backtrack, I soon found an overgrown track and followed it. After a bit of bush bashing, I finally made my way to the cache site. Fun!

I staggered up to find this after taking the wrong track and circling roud a rather long route. Then I used the clue but got a fit for the wrong nasty bush which inflicted a number of injuries before I move on the the next one which was the correct one. I was almost fooled by the ? decoys.
