Day 14 of our NQ holiday & today we headed to Townsville to find a few caches... This cache was our first stop & was a nice walk up the dry creek towards GZ
Once the gizmo stopped counting down we headed upwards to GZ & make a quick find using the other co-ords mentioned in the cache listing [^]

Wanting to grab another traditional I scanned the map and spotted this. Certain has a bit of age on it. No idea which was the original tree or rocks but was able to locate it with coordinates found in a couple of logs - S 019° 20.128' E 146° 49.086'
It was well hidden under rocks and getting a bit of vegetation growth around it at the moment. A good sized and sturdy container. should last a fair while even if dropped or has a rock dropped on it.
A great view on the way back down the hill but left a little before I should as the sunset was fantastic driving out of there.
Nice cache Yogie71. Looks like it is needed to find for a few local challenges too so thanks for keeping alive.

A short walk through the bush and then a scramble up to GZ. With some slightly different coordinates, after reading other logs we soon had our name added to the paper.
Thanks to those who have helped maintain this old one.

I made it. 18 days on my bicycle cycling over 1850km.
Now to catch up with friends and find a few caches.
I parked the bike and wandered over.
This one is needed for a challenge cache.
Found after a short search.
Thanks for the cache.

This old cache made our ‘must find’ list while we’re in Townsville. And find it we did. All good here.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Today was the MEGA's official day so we didn't go to far away . We had plenty to do nearby. On the list we're the gadget caches, Al's, opening of Mega, lunch a few oldies and other nearby caches before Trivia Night. This was an oldie so it was also a must do cache. Davinells were quickly onto this one, log signed and replaced as found. TFTC
Arrived in Townsville after our 3 day drive from Brisbane, Tour de Ville (TMZ59, Imbunda, Peppa and I) have teamed up with Davinells today. We attended the opening of the MEGA event, completed an Ad Lab, had a leisurely lunch and now finding a few selected caches before returning to Cluden for the Trivia Night.
This was on our list as it is an oldie. Lovely walk in to GZ where Davinells made the find. SL then returned as found.

The official day of Mega. We spent most of the day at Cluden checking out the gadget caches and doing the Escape Room (Which Team Tour de Ville came third). After a leisurely lunch with the Davinells, we thought we’d head out and get a few caches before the Trivia night. Log was signed TdV TIPP. Thanks for the cache.
Trolls have teeth of diamond. A troll dentist might also be a rich diamond merchant. A troll gangster might wear the teeth of their former enemies as jewelry. While most trolls are capable of growing diamond teeth (and possibly regenerating fresh diamond, just as rodents' teeth continually grow from underneath to replace what is ground away on the top?) this is as far as it goes for most trolls. But just once in a while, trollish genetics throws up a Diamond Troll made entirely of diamond. Such a being is naturally super-intelligent as they can regulate their own bodily temperature - evidenced by the thin layer of frost on the outside that also serves as protection against the glare for onlookers.
We had a DNF last time we were here but it has been replaced in the interim and it was good to avenge that DNF with a find. Thanks for the cache
Day 8 and it’s mega day! Spent most of the day at the mega checking out lab caches and the escape room. After lunch we came out with Tour de Ville to find a few more caches.
Walked up along the dry creek before heading up into the scrub. Walked around and then came from the right angle and quickly spotted the container. Tftc

After spending the morning at Cluden, Tour de Ville and all of the Davinells enjoyed a lazy lunch, and then just a handful of select caches….

This is day four of the big Townsville trip and today Fangsoki, Crew 153, 1MinnieMoo, Pprime and I are heading out on a big western loop of the itinerary. It's exciting to head south-west this far and see some parts of Queensland I've not seen before! After lunch and some more geocaches in Charters Towers, we're heading back towards the coast.
I'm behind the wheel and it's a long way back. On the way, it's decided we have just enough time to squeeze in this oldie before the sun dips and we call it a day done. I blindly follow the sat-nav to where Fangsoki (having found this before) knows is the best approach.
Myself and Prime are the only two who want to grab this one, so we pile out and dash towards GZ. Through the trees, over the dry ditch and up the slope. A lot of experience between us, this shouldn't take long. But alas, it does. We poked around for a long time. And considering the local kids seem to explore this area, we weren't sure it'd still be here.
Getting desperate, a lot of previous logs are found and the replacement's co-ordinates are noted and plugged into our phones. It leads us a bit closer to a likely area and the find is made. Hey, happy to have made the old icon into a smiley, but off co-ordinates makes things slightly frustrating. Allow me to repeat the numbers that we borrowed today: **S19 20.128 E146 49.086**
Now 17:30, and this is our last find for the day. We're all buggered. Once Prime and I return to the car, the only next mission is food and a motel room. Thanks for this geocache, Gizmo71

The Trudge2TVL mob: Crew153, 1MinnieMoo, Captain Terror, Fangsoki and myself are on a big loop out of town through Charters Towers. Very specific target caches for our visit today. This was one. Our final find for this my first day on the trails with the mob - getting tired now and sunset is beckoning. Searched GZ for a while before noticing the alternate coords BenM70 popped in a few years ago. And made a relatively quick find at that slight relocation. I didn't check the new coords with multiple readings or anything, but they worked for me so have re-iterated them in this log.
Thanks yogie71 for entertaining me at this location.

A 9 day roadtrip to Townsville and back to Brisbane in the Fangsoki Pajero with the usual cast of cachers.
We had this one on our list of old caches to find. Fangsoki and 1MinnieMoo had found it last October so it was up to Pprime, Captain Terror and I to take the wander through the rough bush to find the cache,

greencordial and mum are out and about on this cloudy day, avoiding the cricket.
We started at this oldie. Parking were “Suri” (what mum calls Siri), we walked through the creek and up too far. Finally made it over the crossing to the cache. Passed some interesting red flowers.
Mum of greencordial’s feedback …. “good cache. Very organised and I like that it was dry”.
Thanks to Gizmo71 for placing this cache for us to enjoy!

Having conquered Mt Marlow this morning, and then a few caches along the foreshore, Fangsoki and I were pretty hot and exhausted. However I had just one more cache in Townsville that was on the must-grab list. And thankfully it was not far from our accommodation.
So we drove in air conditioned comfort, finally getting our body temperatures back down, when we arrived here. And I had to get out and walk 100 metres.
I slid my way out of the seat with a groan and as I started the walk towards the creek, convinced myself of what I was doing.
I startled a couple of wallabies along the creek as I went and was encouraged by an number of butterflies flying around me. Then out of the creek and up in the dry heat, I soon arrived at GZ. Having done my homework on the journey here, I put in BENM70’s alternative coords, and headed towards those first. A little look and from the right angle I knew I had found it. Log signed I then wished I was a wallaby on this terrain making my way back over the slippery gravel before another quick creek dash and another wallaby scare, and I was back to the car, well and truly done for the day.
Thanks for the cache yogie71 and for maintaining it Gizmo71.

Day seven of my road trip and day five in Townsville and my last day in Townsville before heading back to Brisbane. It was target caching day and there was some driving to be had to fulfil a local challenge and get a few off my list.
A short walk in and I had a little trouble locating this one, reading the logs I see it was just replaced. Ok it required a PAF to help out as I had been here 30 minutes plus now and still had no luck. He led me directly to a cache but it was not the replacement cache but another that was placed there sometime back. A nice solid pvc container in the rocks, this was about 18 metres away from GZ. I don’t like giving coordinates away but this one needs to be updated. S .127 and E .088 should get you a little closer.
Thank you for maintaining this one and keeping it in play, with log signed and cache replaced as fond i was off to the next one in the area.

A very short trip to town so not much caching. After work we found our selves in the area and was soon widening our search to find the replacement. More under rocks than right by a tree base and a little north of my phone. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Second time visiting this area. Had contacted a previous finder where this might be located an got specific instructions. As nothing was there anymore, I replaced the cache. Hope that is ok for the CO.
Well worth visiting the creek nearby following all the rain. But make sure to use mozzie spray

Traversed the dry creek bed and headed up the hill in the hot sun. Searched around in all spots we could find within a radius of about 30m but couldn’t find an appropriate hide, let alone the cache. Hopefully next time
After moving every rock on the hillside we finally found it after about 30 minutes of searching. Tricky
Looked around again for this out of the way cache. Scrambled down into the creek bed then up the side of the slope to where my gps was telling me it was, smack bang on the remains of a white container. Checked around near the few black trees and rocks nearby and found a few hiding spots but no cache. Instead of inviting people out to a find that in all likelihood isn’t here, I replaced it in a spot that matches the hint with a similar sized container, namely a 10cm round, 15cm deep screwtop pipe and surrounded the exposed side with a matching rock pile. If someone spots the original, can you let me know with a message. Thanks for the scrambling climb Yogie
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Cache is nowhere to be found. Remnants of an old white container. Messaged Cache owner but no response.
Found remnants of an old white plastic container. Nothing indicating it was a cache. Been over two years since there has been a find

A couple of caches on the way home today, had two lonely ones in the south-east end of town, this being one of them.
Saw some wallabies on my walk to GZ, it was a good day for the walk not hot enough to break a sweat.
Found the cache to be in good condition.

After, adventuring off from the tank we unintentionally found a geocache. We panicked as we had no idea what could be inside the box but are glad we took the time to open it and read the unknown findings.
Parked at the end of Dahl Cres, scattered some wallabies on dusk as started a quick ascent to the cache, found with the clue, a bit exposed but in good condition, covered with a couple more rocks, TFTC Yogie71.

Staying at a caravan park in Townsvillle, on our 3rd trip around Australia.
Went for a drive this morning, and picked up a few caches on our travels.
Enjoyed the walk though the creek bed, then up to the cache for a quick find.
Interesting area, would be nice to see when water is flowing.
Many thanks for placing this cache, yogie71, for us and others to find.

A sunny afternoon as we left work with a need to find a cache to continue our streak. After parking we headed up the creek bed following the little red arrow. Soon enough it pointed abit further up the hill and we headed out of the creek. It wasn't long before the drunken bee dance began as we dashed backwards and forwards between two likely looking spots. In the end geoD searched that little bit further and made the find.
A quick sign of the log and a pause to admire the view before we headed back down the hill to the geoMobile.

Went with my sister and three small boys, my son and two nephews, looking for 'treasure'. Tracked up and down the hill a few times but didn't find out despite the clue. This was my first geocache search but I'll keep trying.
Seeing that ICP had ensured their was an actual cache now present we visited this afternoon.
After finding almost 800 caches this was the first time that we have encountered a snake.
Not sure what type it was, but it was big and brown.
Mrs Wazza&Kara went on to find the cache while Mrs Wazza&Kara kept an eye on the snake as he was getting awfully close to the path back to the car.
Signed the log and enjoyed a safe, snake free walk back to the car.

Found remnants of original cache, supplied new container and re-placed cache, with insane.cache.posse
after reading logs about people claiming a find by seeing the old lid ,we whipped up a suitable beast to reside in the old caches home that could be actually found and signed. went for a hike with gavs_machinations , removed the old lid and decayed remnants ,and placed the new container. the new hide needs some swag and if anyone wants to whack some camo on as this was a spur of the moment decision to replace . the wulguru cache is back!!!
This is my first, woooohooooo. Nice spot right on the mark.
Unfortunately the only thing left in the cache (under the lid) is 2 plastic cards fully faded & the instructions which have been water logged and now useless.
I'll look at coming back next week with a better container, new instructions & maybe a little goodie or two.

This one lacks a container - and needs urgent attention. All that is left is a stash bag and some calling cards - and a lid.
Ther entrance into this one is certainly not forthcoming. I did find a good access evetnually though. Not sure what route the 2.5 terrain is - but I went the terrain 3.5 route - over the creek - rock hopped accross and climbed up toward GZ. As reported, this one is sad. However, a find is a find. In keeping with the rules of the game, I signed a card I found in the cache. TFTC yogie71 - the little stream was quite pleasant
#12 Found lid and bag from previous finder. Left Signature Coin. If owner doesn't refurb, I will take ownership cause its a interesting spot.
Cache has been muggled. Found lid and plastic bag in the grass. Put them under the rocks.
This turned out to be an itchy stroll. Followed a few extra streets, up the creek (still running) and then popped out near GZ. Hasn't seen a visitor for a while, though it isn't too wet. Took nothing, left dogtags. TFTC.
On my last vist to Townsville late last year I drove around trying to find a way into the cache area - hadn't read the description of course. This time I went through the gap between the house yards at the end of the street accompanyed by the baying of many panlickers looking for a tasty morsel. Followed the creek to within 25 metres and then headed up the hill to make a quick find. This one hasn't been found for quite a while and the cache is becoming part of the ground! Signed the log and enjoyed the view then went back along the fast flowing creek. This time the dogs left me alone!
Thanks!
Thanks!
II enjoy this type of cache - the terrain, lots of birds about, and a lovely cool morning. Thanks Trekking Trev.

Tried this cache with summer'skoby; it was going to be our last cache and we found it one of the hardest. Access was through neighbouring yards, the gully was slippery after a little rain, around GZ the grass was at chest height K slid down rocks and grazed both knees and the mosquitos were as large as wallabies and out numbered the flies but we had a great 40 minutes with no luck...next winter, it will have to wait.
Searched with Kidmac.... O MAN, poor Kid took a slid and grazed her knees and still no find.... Felt weird going through peoples yards and I searched all the places we thought it may be.....GGGRRRRRR!!! I will be back!
Parked the car as close as I can get it and off I went to locate the cache. After crossing the creek bed and losing my balance for the 3rd of 4th time ( I must of left my balance in the previous cache ) I eventually made it to the cache in one piece. Cache was exposed a bit and rehid it nicely after signing the log. It was a nice view which I would of enjoyed more if it wasn't for the thought that I had to make it back to the car in one piece.
