Given the cache appears to have been destroyed in a fire and I won't be able to make it to Newcastle soon to replace it, I'm archiving this listing. It's a pity, because I love this spot.
This should be called the Hilly pond not Lilly pond...lol..Plenty of spiders greeting us on the way up, even had one running all over me when I was driving to the next cache which did become quite exciting let me tell you. Those little hitchhikers get out...Nice size cache and plenty of room for swaps took nothing but did leave some toys n stuff for future cachers..

Spent some time searching. Wrongly assumed it would be close to Lilly Pond. Finally accepted GPS directions and fond cache - easy?? Great hide and many thanks. Left carabiner. Other Geacaches had just beaten us. TFTC.
I was on my way back to Sydney and thought I would drop a Travel bug at this cache.
I had hoped the rain might hold up until I was back in the car but no such luck.
It started pouring down as i got to GZ and to make it worse I was absolutely ravaged by mosquitos at GZ.
My GPS went completely silly and was showing me that each step I took was hundreds of meters apart, I just couldnt get to GZ because one moment I was close to GZ and the next I was all the way in New Lambton, or Kotara. Had full GPS signal and accuracy to within 5 meters so It must have just been a glitch with the GPS.
Anyway jogged back to the car in the rain feeling very itchy and disappointed. I'll try again next time Im in newie.

What a beautiful and tranquil spot to sit and regain the strength after walking in from the wrong direction. GPSR signal was all over the place under the trees but eventually it was mine. TFTC TNLNSL

Love the place, was there for a BBQ the night before I decided to go looking for caches....
Great day for caching. Up here from Melbourne staying with friends and then working our way up to Frazer Island. This spot is near our friends and we are now telling them what they have been missing out on with the lovely walks there is here. Lovely picnic spot here and no one here as you need to walk to it. Plenty of muggles all about the car park. Enjoy our journey to this spot, its even getting my partner walking. Nice easy find once the gps settled down. Thanks very much for bringing us here. NTLN
This cache is in a nice secluded picnic spot.No muggles about.Great hide.TNLN TFTC

I did this one some time ago, but I had the "Blue Jeep 4x4 #0001" which I intended to leave at Stocko Sands when I was there last week but it was too small to leave it.
The boy hadn't done the lily pond so I went with him while he did it and left the jeep.

This one is definitely off-trail, but I found it without any difficulty. I'm here on a trip from San Francisco.
A bit of a walk downhill, only to find muggles near the pond. Luckily they moved off and I made my way up to the cache. Nice spot. Cheers Gav [4005]
Easy find at the end. Bush bashing saw us find the cache.Lots of goodies, but TNLN. Great spot, didn't know it existed.
Came in from the parking area and a short walk to the cache site. Signed the log and on my way. It sure is a peaceful spot.
From Coala Creche to Lilly pond walking, is all up and down.
Reaching Lilly pond , the actual cache was hard to reach.

What a beautiful little pond and picnic place this is - loved the lillies too. Plenty of spider's webs to have us "dancing" but quite an easy find. Left a Ping Pong Ball took nothing TFTC
The walk was just what the perfect morning weather ordered. A few spiders were doing their thing but that never stopped a cacher.
Clear skies and TFTC from TeamAstro. [^]
Found it on the second visit. Must teach the wife how to read a GPS. Good hiding spot and the first decent booty. Now we gotta read up on what to do with these dog tag thingys. Thanks guys

I used to visit Blackbutt Reserve as a kid for family picnics and a couple of school excursions. Nice easy find whilst visiting family on holidays
Found at 7:50am, Very quiet morning in Blackbutt. Batteries decided to go flat 50m from GC, turn GPS back on and had just enough life to get me there.
Thanks Eynowd for the cache.

Found 14:20. Last week Tom Tom died 100mts from location after walking the 2klms from Koala enclosure. This time parked 300mts from GZ. Found quickly. Dropped off & picked up TB's.
Found it! I walked direct, through the bush, following the arrow to find this one and followed the path back to the car. I prefered the bush. The cache was easy to find and in good condition. Took DVD and left a carabeena with in-built torch. Cheers TFTC

The pond doesn't look to be at it's best at the moment but should improve over spring.

Second cache found in Blackbutt Reserve today, this time my wife found it - her first find. A bit further away from the pond than expected but at least it is well away from any muggles.

After two days in Newie for a work trip, I had been eyeing this one off but of course this afternoon there is torrential rain but I couldn't leave without finding it. It was surprisingly a nice walk even in the rain. The rain was falling on the pond and it was very relaxing! A quick wander up the hill and the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks Eynowd for the cache in a nice spot.

We have done a cache here before so knew the area and after parking the car we made our way up to the cache. Found easily as it was clearly visible from the path and it was so visible some people Koala spotting found it the day before and wrote a nice entry in the logbook. Once the caching duties where completed made the cache a little less visible.

As usual I had to go the ruffasgutts4x4 way to get to the cache as the road was closed the way I came in from. Thankfully I found some kids bike tracks through the bush that helped me on my way, Easy find no swaps today Thanks for bringing me here, real nice pond!

484 Nice little walk on pleasant winters day. The lilly pond would look gorgeous when they are in bloom. Thanks for bringing us to this spot Eynowd - it's nice to finally see some camo in Newcastle.
Found with JMCz (Texas) & Wagga Wagga (my brother from Las Vegas), I parked as close as I could to the old location and we had the walk from hell to the new location, TFTC!
We parked about as far away from the cache as we could and still be in the park! I had been here years ago on another trip to Australia and was pleased to return here. TFTC
Lovely area this morning. The mozzie have gone and the flowers were just coming out. Eventually the GPS settled down and the very obvious spot was revealed.
What a nice location for a little jog. I found it no problems. The hints helped. I picked up the TBs and will place them in Nelsons Bay. Heaps of Tourists coming through to pick them up.
Our TB, Clancy the crocodile has been waiting here for someone to take him travelling. He won't bite you!
If you visit this cache, please move him to another cache.

Having never been to this ara before. I had fun trying to find where to park. With so many entry points to this reserve, the gps had me drving all over the place. The best place to park is the carpark off Mahogany dr. From here a short walk to GZ. My GPS had me 22metres from the hide, but I used the hint and had it in no time. Nice Container.

once again wear lots of mozzie spray!! very nice area great spot to hide.. nice little quiet picnic area very nice walk.
A nice easy walk in however the mozzies were a killer. Was a little concerned about walking off the path due to snakes this time of year but took the risk and we were fine!! Located GZ and an easy find once there. Great cache container!!! TNLN, TFTC.

It was a pleasant but steamy stroll along the path to the lilly pond with the grandchildren.
A mother and her eight very new ducklings thrilled the children as they swam among the lilys and jumped on the leaves.
The children eagerly took some stickers and a compass.
We left the Clancy Crocodile TB and the 5K-CHIP TB and
took the World Youth Day 2008 TB.

Hutchtable kids took some newbies here on their first cache yesterday. Took nothing, dropped a penny and world youth day travel bug (sorry, had forgotten that we had this bug so it has been stationary or quite some time).
Nice spot that we never new about till now. Thanks for bringing us here except the mozzies were a little too frequent and friendly. GPS didn't want to play the game but got there in the end after checking out inside almost every base in the place.

3rd for the day.
Approached this from the left hand path, which was obviously the wrong way to go. (more uphill walking).
The hiding spot was good, the mozzies were numerous, and the walk past the pond was nice.
a great spot i never knew existed.
Left the dangerous curves TB to start its adventure.

We're down in Newcatle for my Dad's 70th. This was my first find with my new GPS. Took the Geocoins. Thanks.
Took a while to find the car park, but once there we were on our way. The 1st of 3 for the day. Found this one at 13:15 after a short search with the hint making it easy. Great little container.
Took: Battery box (although we didn't know what it was at the time)and some money
Left: 2 Geocoins (one which needs to be activated i think) and a compass keyring.

Pretty easy find this one and a nice walk to it's location the only problem was the large black snake that had decided to have a camp next to the cache.
I woke him and he made his way off but from then on every stick looked like a snake LOL.
Took nothing left Headin for the East coast Geocoin.
Thanks

Maybe it was the hurry I was in (last cache before picking up family from shopping) or just that I picked the wrong car park, but it seemed to be quite a long walk to me.
The final hiding place is spectacular - I've seen a few like that since arriving in Australia and every one makes me want to leave a cache.
Thanks!
Nick, from France.
