I guess not.

Time to go if nothing is happening?

28-Nov-16
I was not able to check on this during a recent visit to the area and have no idea when I'll be back again.

Thanks to all who have found it over the past ten years or so. I hope you enjoyed the challenge.

15-Nov-16
I return to my parents house next week.

Is this okay?

12-Oct-16
I'll be in the area next week and will go have a look for it.

02-Oct-16
No luck here.

Based on the previous logs I think this needs a check.

The area is a busy dumping ground now.

23-Jun-16
Found the location matching the photo posted by CtFreeze. Visited twice with no results. Either it's buried under ground or it's been muggled

23-Jun-16
Got the code cracked with the key word. Found GZ but after two visits now still can not find the cache. We are definitely in the right spot because we have double checked with some of the photos in the activity log and they match the location we are looking. Pretty frustrating, but hopefully it hasn't been muggled

14-Apr-16
Thanks for this one. Nice coding even if I never did find the key word.

13-Jan-16
Yay

03-Jan-16
Solved the puzzle a while ago and finally got around to checking out the coordinates. Got a bit lost as we were using my phone as gps, but eventually found it thanks to the photos. Thanks!!

Searching in the dark without a torch is never fun but we got there in the end!! Just_Gen even braved the spiders for this one!! Every day she becomes more and more of an asset for when the zombie apocalypse strikes. Razz

21-Nov-15
We solved this puzzle sometime ago and lost the results, knowing we were coming up I got puzzling once again, now we are here to collect a smiley, and a classic cache container is great ti find. TFTC

15-Nov-15
After 9 yrs , finally complete the I T series! Mind you, this was a bit further from home than the rest, cache all good here thanks.

29-Aug-15
Found. TFTC!

28-Aug-15
I had a crack at this code at Christmas time with no success, then had another go this week - I had an inkling how many letter were in the keyword, so googled the info given, wrote out one cipher alphabet as directed, started decoding and the words started coming!
Thanks for a fun cache, good to see it in such good shape after nearly a decade.
Left a bison tube.

The cache was easy to find with the solution... TFTC

26-Aug-15
This cache has haunted me... On my third attempt finally found it within a minute of trying! I can't believe it took me so long. The cipher was decoded in a matter of minutes. I'm glad to tick this off my list TNSL thankyou for supplying this cache to be my first cipher!

Alas I was unable to find this cache today. I finally solved the puzzle with no key word. Isn't there some hint to what the key word is supposed to be? I know there is a hint but a bit broad isn't it? Even with the puzzle solved I was unable to work backwards and find the key word.

Today I had the opportunity to come and find this cache. I looked on the map and found it was a plausible place. I drive to the nearest entrance which turns out to be the wrong entrance. Down and up the storm water drain and through the dense bush to a perfectly nice cycle path. Never mind I am here now.

Straight away I found the hint with no problems at all. The cache, no sir. I searched and searched and searched some more. I broadened my search. I re-searched a few more times. I decided to take the cycle route out. Then, I decided that way could take hours and I could get lost. I then decided to go back the way I came. This turned into, well since I am here, I should have another search or two.

Found in good condition, picked up TB. TFTC

19-Apr-15
Found nice and easy. Thanks for a do-able puzzle. Dropped a TB.

23-Feb-15
This is one of those caches you have solved ages ago but probably would never get to for me. Today I was in the area as I have now moved up here this one was a must do. Got to gz and just used the hint to find a good sized cache. Happy to tick this one off my list. TFTC

24-Jan-15
This was a lot of fun. Good puzzle which despite being a tricky but not overly complex challenge for a local, took what felt like ages to do the actual decoding! Enjoyed the walk too, but the water dragons were determined to give me a heart attack today. They are everywhere! TNLN TFTC

14-Dec-14
Found. solved this along time ago finally got round to doing it today as TOMBI has convinced me to attempt his challenge "Tomorrow will be different challenge" GC59F90.

You mean THAT poor excuse for a plant Poor thing! TFTC! Finally clicked and the message decrypted. almost stood on cache before I noticed it!

#127 - My first cipher Very Happy I was immensely proud of working this out without help, and as we had to go to Lincraft today, I figured it was a perfect time to actually try and find it (and qualify for another souvenir in the process). I may or may not have jumped through the storm water drain due to slightly dodgy GPS; I regret nothing. Soon got myself sorted out and did my best intrepid stride towards where I thought it would be. Well done, self - had the cache signed and replaced a couple of minutes later. I only wish I'd remembered to grab one of the travel bugs out of the car before leaving.

13-Jul-14
Found it finally early this morning. Was literally standing on top of it when i was searching around. Last time i was just looking to hard when it was just a simple find. Not much of the Pandanus grass left. Just one stork left. Great hide near my old primary school which i also had an explore around to see if it had changed much. TNLNSL Thanks

20-Apr-14
Aaaaahhh! Is the code Chicago?

19-Jan-14
Solved the puzzle correctly (i think) so i went out in the morning before the event "onya bike" at approximately 9:05 in the morning. I had no luck after searching for 10 minutes. Looked around and couldn't see an ammo can. Came back to the cache after the event and searched around again for another 10 minutes. Mosquitoes were everywhere. Had about ten on me at one time. was on gz and nothing. looked in the ferns and nothing. will try another day.

07-Jan-14
Second attempt at finding this one after realising my GPS operates in decimal degrees, not decimal minutes! Also was wearing a dress and ballet flats - not recommended! TFTC, took TB and left a vintage button and vintage lunch ticket Smile

21-Dec-13
Our Canadian contingent solved this .....but the Australians needed some Canadian music to point us in the right direction. We enjoyed solving this and it took us somewhere we haven't been in Newcastle, Thanks

25-Nov-13
GPSr had me basically on the main track, must have been those pesky trees interfering.
I read the clue and off I went, for a very quick find. left it as was found (so clue fits),
it is very expose as per previous logs. Got back to the car just before it rained heavy.
Thanks for the decent sized container in suburbia!

10-Nov-13
Found it and took TB as he has been in there over a month. Will move him north. I'm giving this a fav point as I love codes!

#241

Solved this cache with a nudge from Cccritter7, and picked it up before cricket today. Jogged the way down, bush bashed and grabbed the cache. I dropped off a TB, signed the log, and left. I exited back, found my way back to Mum and we were off to cricket.

Thanks for the cache Eynowd.

On Tuesday night I attacked all the local puzzle caches. Having found a majority of the local traditionals, I attempted to solve a series of puzzles. I solved this one in around 30mins. Today, I brought my sister along for a ride to GZ. As we were en-route, we bumped into her bestfriend who happened to come with us. I got to within 30m of cache and bush bashed the rest of my way there. Cache wasn't well hidden but did not want to alter it due to the clue.

22-Feb-13
Found at 6:01 PM GAFF3. A nice puzzle where there is sufficient information not to make it a "where do I start" type of puzzle.
Tried to access GZ from across the other side of the drain, but with the storms the water was flowing quite high. Decided to do it the proper way and when I got to GZ the GPSr was very indecisive until I spotted the clue - nice work.
Thanks Eynowd.

28-Dec-12
Been looking at this cache for a while now so sat down this morning determined to crack the code. After a lot of head scratching the code word finally came to me, should have got this a long time ago used to live near here. Worked out transmission then the cache appeared just where it was described. Thanks to Eynowd for this great puzzle.

21-Dec-12
Well, solved the code, but couldn't for the life of me locate the cache. Found the area described by Eynowd, but given Teamsenz' comments, the clue probably doesn't match the hint anymore.

Managed to find at least one other cache in Charlestown tonight, so I got my "passing through the town" cache. Smile

Second time lucky this round. Cache was just sitting there. Not much of the plant left. So I hid it a bit better from muggled walking by. TFTC

1400 GAFF1 today. Stopped by in the vain hope of finding out when I had previously found it but not logged it (2008/9). New log book put a kybosh on that.
Collected a few glass bottles from GZ.
Took dud pen, and left a pen.
Thru: 3Bros, B2B, Baa, Neigh, Oink, artheROOs and Montieth Dhu TBs, and own Trackable shirt.
TFTC Eynowd.

Finally had time to attempt this one again. This time it was an easy find and walked straight to it. The amp tin was uncovered and looks as though local kids may have found it. Goodies are still inside and they left a friendly Xmas message. His away under what is left of the pandanus grass.

26-Jan-12
Cracked the code a few months back after a little help. After a quick walk I found what I thought was GZ - saw the abandoned skate board so I knew I was close. Unfortunately there was no sign of the cache and the pandanus looks as though it has seen better days. The pandanus has been attacked and i suspect that the cache is missing in action. Ill come back another day after i recheck my calculations.

31-Dec-11
Tftc! Tough code but easy fine

30-Dec-11
wasn't prepared for the walk, I was wearing crocs!

Did find a skateboard that looked like it had been there a long time though. Bonus!

26-Nov-11
Took a few puzzle solutions on a quick visit to Newcastle and this was the only one we had time for. Lots of mozzies around GZ, according to Mrs B, but they left me alone. Container blends in well. TFTC

After getting a little guidance from the CO the rest of the puzzle fell into place.
A quick find this morning on the the way to Blackbutt Reserve for a caching hunt.

I've looked at this puzzle heaps of times over the last few months but could never work out the code word. I finally decided to call on the help of chippyroo for some advice and lucky i did as i never would of picked the code word ,i've never heard of them before.
Once i had the code word the rest of the puzzle fell into place and this morning i was able to head out and come up with a quick find of the cache.
SL TNLN Thanks for a great puzzle....

Loved this one, good puzzle, not to easy not to hard just right. actual cache took a lot of searching, good camo on the new container ( thanks for the new container and log. enjoyed doing his one. TFTC.

22-May-11
Replaced the cache container and logbook this morning. Didn't have too many new swaps at the moment, so I'll have to restock it a bit next time I'm up.

Anyway, it's good to go again, and it should stay a little drier this time.

20-May-11
New cache container (an ammo box this time) has been prepared and a new logbook to go with it. I'll be dropping by to replace both this weekend.

17-May-11
worked it out months ago finaly got time to grab it took a bit of a search to find
log book a bit damp needs drying out Thanks for the great cacheSmile

23-Apr-11
Transmission received and understood. So now the task was at hand. By the time I got to the spot, it was a torch job. I had trouble with the unit and birds jumping around everywhere.

I spotted the well camoed (slightly wet inside) cache and logged away. Busy spot today by the look of things.

Lovely walk but damn hard spot to zero on in drive by style for an outatowner. Clear skies!!

23-Apr-11
Groewrs solved this one - he must have worked at Bletchley Park some time in his past. I will have a go at solving it when I get a moment though. I love puzzles. TNLN TFTC.
Managed to solve the puzzle using pencil and paper 25 April. A good one! Thanks Eynowd!

I managed to solve this one in about half an hour on our drive down here on Good Friday. The ipad is a useful tool!

George and I set off to find this one, and shortly after 5pm George came up with the cache.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache, Eynowd Smile

16-Mar-11
Reperio at 1600. Finally got around to solving this one a couple of nights ago. Once the keyword was sorted out, the rest fell into place. Parked as close as I could get to GZ which was about 160m away, and was soon in the thick of things. A short search and the cache was spotted. The container in looks in good condition, but the log book is wet and mouldy so not sure if this one has been fixed up or not. Still didn't have too many issues signing the log. Great to have found the last one in this series.

Gratias Eynowd.

Our geomate advice/ help us for puzzle..first visit, searched no cache there, then checked internet everything as try to remember advice from finder log and map then back second visit, hate heaps of mozzies there, searched few mins oh fool ourself, but diff 17m after gz....Phew found one wow good one hide well... also lognote full damp like a bit wet... thanks hunter Smile

24-Dec-10
Thanks to those who have noted the logbook is a bit wet. I'm planning on sending another cache container and logbook north just after Christmas.

So hopefully things will be sorted out before too much longer. Thanks for your patience.

Our 4689th overall find.

Here's a cache that I have been working on for a while... I don't know what has held us up from getting this one but after a few caches in Blackbutt today we headed down to grab this one. It didn't take too long to locate the general area of the GZ but it took a bit longer to locate the cache. I should have guessed the camo though! I eventually got it and signed the log. The log was quite wet and could do with a replacement but not having a log with me I had to re-seal the old log back in the cache.

Thanks to Eynowd for the cache you sure have driven me insane with this series! *Overall Experience: 3* http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Rating

We visited WP1 a long while ago and only returned today with the final location. Parking was crazy with many access roads closed. After a short walk I reluctantly left the track and walked briefly through bush that looked as though snakes were hiding everywhere, and darting lizards didn't make it any easier. I admired the excellent camouflage on the cache but TNLN. Thanks for a great puzzle and hide.

This was a good one I had a look at the code last night and easly had gz so off today after work and soon had the cache in hand.
Great work with the container but the pampus grass that was hiding it has seen better days but it was still well hidden.

Log was a little wet. I will try to drop by and replace it for you.

01-Aug-10
Mrs Chippyroo worked out the correct coordinates at home a few days before. Easy find in the near darkness but we were nearly carried away by mozzies! Ellie (the cache dog) loved running down the path and in and out of the bush. TFTC

Puzzles drive me INSANE!!! Fitzy made me solve this one, and I thought I was so clever when I did it,
he had already done it, he just wanted me to "get some practice" [:(!]
Well that's ok, cos I made HIM walk through the wet sludgey bush to find the cache!! Wink
TFTC!! Good one.

2561 - Found during a Newcastle region visit with ACBC 66....

We had to have a go for this one since we know the owner (fellow Canberra Cacher), and I've done Intercepted Transmission 'I', 'III' and 'IV', which are in the ACT. Used the same decoding technique as 'I' and out popped the answer. Parked close to GZ and crossed the drain and after a bit of bush-bashing the cache was in hand !

Nice job on the container - just needs a new log and bag as they are a bit wet ! Maybe the next Cacher attempting this cache could take them.

Thanks Eynowd ! (Now about Thinking Laterally Again...).

TNLN - TFTC !!

Cheers....

23-Mar-10
I stumbled around in the dark for quite a while trying to pin this one down, the hint was no help as the vegetation has changed, finally signed the log at 5 to midnight while feeding the mozzies.
My thanks to Eynowd for organising the puzzle and the hide.

Finally worked out the code and then a quick walk via the drain to the cache.

Marco had done all the "brain work" on this one and had cracked the code during his lunch break at work. Armed with the co-ordinates we then headed off to find the cache. Our first problem was trying to work out where to park to then be able to walk in to the cache. This saw us doing a couple of large laps aound the block! Once we decided on where to park we took off on foot down the pathway. Once we neared GZ, we headed off the path were we then started going around in circles due to the GPS not having very good signal under the trees and us finding a clump of Pandanus grass [but it was the wrong clump!] Eventually we put everything together and came up with the very clever cache container. Decided to drop off the Egg and Spoon Race TB and signed log. TFTC

Took the opportunity to head out and see if my decoding was up to scratch. Beautiful day for a walk and the cache was where I expected it to be. Loved the cammo tape thanks for a pretty cool cache Eynowd . TNLNSL. [Cache 117]

Found it finally. The GPS was all over the place but the WW's strike it. Great hunt!!

20-Sep-09
It was a pleasure to go hunting for an Eynowd puzzle cache here, having done one of this series in Canberra previously. It was definitely tricky finding nearby access into the area and a hoot when wandering up the drain so casually as if people do that every day! Well, they do if they are cachers! The team search eventually came up with the goods, then there was just the casual stroll back through the brat pack to deal with. Hmmm. Thanks Eynowd - good puzzle series.

20-Sep-09
Found as part of the MCWinTrexOn team, we had worked out this one back in Canberra so we were all set when accessing the area, not a lot of access points into the area unfortunately but a flash of green while we drived around pointed the way through a pile of brats. A hop skip and a jump got us into the immediate area for a bit of bush bashing in a fairly crook reception area. the cache eventually showed itself and we were back out to find yet another.
TFTC.

20-Sep-09
Lucky we don't stick to a time limit for each cache, cos we spent a bit of time just driving around to find an access point for this one, only to then discover that we had to run the gauntlet of a gaggle of curious toddlers. 'What are you doing?' 'We're just going for a walk' said I, sort of truthfully. That walk led right past the BBQ in a backyard opening onto the cycle path. Four adults climbing in and out of a drain, then disappearing into the bush for no good reason, then back after five minutes. Fortunately after using the hint we did find something to match the hint, but the plant referred to has certainly seen better days. Anyway, a good one to find, thanks Eynowd. Thanks to McPhan or BigON who solved the puzzle, saving me from having to struggle with it!

20-Sep-09
2189. This was a definite to-do cache by our mate Eynowd. For a long while it appeared that we would not be able to get to it, however fianlly we found ourselves in the rough vicinity and then drove around until we spotted an in - obviously not the way Eynowd would have thought as we came in from across the drain.

At the entrance ramp to the drain was a group of half a dozen or so kids of around 4-5. We happily walked passed them and then heard the words that every middle aged male near children would hate to hear - "I can see your p...s." Well that certainly pricked up the ears of the adults at the BBQ a few houses down. I must say here that they comment was passed between the children about one small boy but that did not deter the parents from still being on guard when we returned from the find.

And to the find Mrs Winglen again earned the Fanny's fickle finger of favouritism for her find on this cache. Our GPSs were spinning us around a fair bit so it was a good find on a familiar cache container.

TFTC and the bush bash.

[ Pandanus seen but has been destroyed. Cans and beer bottles in area of fallen trunk. No sign of cache. Perhaps I did not look hard enough!! ] Used a cryptanalysts program to solve puzzle. Should have checked original co-ordinates on Google Earth. But realised what the keyword hint was about when we started down the path.

28-Jun-09
Like most everyone else I kept putting this off every time I checked it out, but finally had a little (lots of) time to work on it. Helps to know what the !@#$%^! is a ciphertext alphabet! Ended up using HLOOKUP in Excel to decipher the code (made life a lot easier). As mentioned in a previous find, the Pandanus is now a cropped unit. GZ is further away from the track than listed and eventually found to be in front, not behind the Pandanus. Unique idea (to me so far), left "The Adventurous Truck" TB, TFTC!!
Champagne later to celebrate!!

[This was my first cache. It was a really good challenge.] I figured the clue out with google earth just after I found out about geocaching. But I had to wait two weeks for my gps phone to show up. [It took me half an hour to find, I guess I'm not that great at navigating by gps yet. I took a key chain and left a commemorative pen. By the way, the click lock bag that holds the log is broken, can the next person who tries to find it bring a replacement please?]

Took some time to crack the code as I did not visit the site. Remembered the name of the rock band from times I had been there before. Would have been up the creek without the clue. Nice hide. Love the cammo cache. TFTC.

YAH YAH YAH I cracked the code and found it.

Spent about 4 months on the code and finally solved it this afternoon.
Went out after tea and located the cache, but had to use the hint as theGPS seemed a bit erratic in the bush.
TNLN Cache is in good order.
Thanks for a lot of fun.

This would be one of the most challenging and fun caches we have experienced to date!! Thankfully there was a kiddies play ground at nearby McDonalds so lil' miss MADSTARS was kept busy while Mr MADSTARS and I sat and painstakingly got our heads around cracking the code. The clue was a great help and before we knew it "WE CRACKED IT" YIPEE!!!! Then off we went to retrieve the cache - lil' Miss MADSTARS had fun signing the log (see photo). Wish there were more caches like this around, loved the challenge. Oh well looks like we will have to head to the ACT and have a crack at a few more of your caches Eynowd. Loved the camo also. Thanks so much Eynowd. TNLNSL

I should really read the cache descriptions more closely as I thought the name of the cache was Interceptor transmission MKII. As luck would have it I happened to have a Jenson service manual in the shed and quickly found all the information on the MKII transmission and while it was fascinating and a totally rollicking good read it wasn’t until I got to the bands section that I finally found the correct keyword and everything fell into place. Then I read the code had nothing to do with Jenson Interceptors and their transmissions.

Originally attempted this with the Geo cookies, and checked on the clue to the code on Monday this week. After cracking the code I attempted to find this with out checking the extra clue and spent 20 minutes at GZ with no joy. On review of the clue for GZ, I returned and found the cache in a spot I looked over briefly on the previous pondering of GZ.
Thanks for the most challanging cache I have yet attempted. Took Jan's 60th Bday TB

15:13. It's hard to describe the satisfaction you get when you find one of your "Nemesis Caches". I've been wanting to scrub this one off my hitlist for over 12 months but had always really struggled with the decryption of the code. A reply from an email sent to owner, while not really telling me anything I hadn't already worked out, did make me realise I was re-encrypting the code instead of decrypting it. Wow, what a difference that makes! Wish I had done that sooner. Cache contents are dry. Took the geocoin and dropped a TB. Thanks for the challenging cache. Smile

Off on a days caching alone on the postie bike, and finally logged this little bugger. Had cracked the code a little while ago and had it sitting around waiting to be done. Well today was the day. A few mozzies around. Was impressed with the cache as it was bone dry !! A credit to its construction. Took nothing but left Geocoin. Thanks.

Annoyed at yet another find for this cache and my inability to get anywhere with the decryption of the message I thought I'd have a semi-blind stab at finding this anyway. Of course I didn't like my chances - and I was right. Back to the drawing board...

Solved the puzzle in France before getting on the plane, so just had to find somewhere to park - the right side of the storm culvert. [B)]

Coordinates were slightly off for me, but the hint did the trick.

Thanks!
Nick, from France.

PS For Grahame Cookie: who said anything about rocks?

[B)] 2040 - 2100 Told the others, that without being able to decrypt the transmission that we would have to limit our time here so we could get on to others. Searched on a rock-covered bank for a while, then went to another. Still no luck. Will have to try again some other time when at the John Hunter. Glad you had checked on it since the June deluge, or I would have thought it had floated away.
