Looks like it's gone. It's had a good innings so will archive and leave area for someone else to utilize.
Found Mabel but try as I did I couldn't find the cache. Good stiff walk though from the village. Thx for placing.
Followed clue, scrambled through the dead leaves extensively to no available
Thanks for bringing us to this peaceful spot

The cache description sound quite difficult, but when we arrived at GZ it was quite easy to locate the specific grave. After this it was only a question of time to find the box. The cemetery was quite interessting, so we spend some more time than we expected.

A steep hill is no exageration! A few sets of eyes on the job, applied geocache rules and the cache was recovered signed and back in no time. For those who enjoy headstone reading a truely old European NZ cemetry. TFTC
Neat resting place. Found Mabel. She was waiting paitiently. Tree and cache found quickly. Great veiws. TFTC.
Just back home in UK from trip to NZ so now able to log our finds. It took longer for us to puff up the hill than it did to collectthe info in the churchyard and find the cache! TFTC
We found this cache on a 2 week trip around Northland, visiting such locations as Opononi, Kaitaia, Cape Reinga, Russel, among many other places.
We puzzled on how to get to the grave (steep ground), but quickly found afterwards. TFTC

Found with Redants while on our Far North Road Trip to the Winterless North. We found ourselves in some interesting places that we would not have visited had we not been searching for caches. Thanks to all the cache owners.
I wouldn't want to be installing a new resident here in the middle of winter, you might end up at the bottom of the hill sooner than planned. TFTC.

It is a wonder that there is any ground slippage here as the ground is very steep.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
great spot that we would not have otherwise come to. thanks geo caching. picked up a T.B. and "Just Floundering" Path tag.
What a nice little multi at quite a strange location. Imagine a 90 year old wants to visit a grave there - almost impossible At least we found the searched grave and the cache itself was an easy find. Thanks for showing us!! IN: Coin. TFTC (#9571)
12 noon. Visited on a maintenance trip. Cemetery in good order, Mabel still in residence but no cache. Placed new container with new log sheet and signature pathtag plus a couple of swap items. Cache is now a 500ml. screw top container in camo colours. All good to go.

I shall temporarily disable this cache until I can visit over the Christmas/New Year holiday season.

Will be a few weeks before I can get to this one so if any other cacher is passing and able to dry out more effectively that would be appreciated.

Cache full of water, log book is soaked. Drained out what water there was but will need looking at.
After enjoying all the historic sights of Kohukohu, including NZs oldest bridge, drove on up to the cemetery. After scouring a few graves, soon spotted the required Mabel and had the cache in hand soon thereafter. Container was full of water, log book is soaked and could only just etch our name in it. TFTC. Loved Kohukohu, well worth the ferry across the harbour.
Took a slightly slippery route to Mabel's resting place but we got there in the end. TFTC

Had early morning fun looking for Mabel whilst waiting for the Ferry. Nice quick find and then a quick convenience stop before lining up to pay the Ferryman. TFTC

Great spot for a cache. Quick find, though a bit boggy underfoot.

We are on our second caching holiday in New Zealand. We did this one after having caught the ferry across. We took a little while before we located Mabel – but once she was found, the cache followed quickly after. TNLNSL TFTC
A very restful but interesting historic cemetery. Great views from futher up the road too.
Bit steep in places, but we managed to 'flounder around' and got there. Thanks for bringing us to such an historic spot. TNLN.
This was a very interesting tour to the cemetery and it took some time to read all the names on the stones. Sometimes it was really hard to read the letters. And of course we started our search the wrong way round….

Geo-quax was searching for the cache and I made photos of the old gravestones. It is a very special place, thanks for bringing us here.
This took a bit of searching but a good team effort TFTH HOTHABENERO & DNCBURRHEAD
14/01/2010 15:52 Found: Last find of the day. I'd been watching the clock as I pulled up to this one... I was aiming for the 4pm ferry to Rawene! Thankfully this was a quick find. I can see why this is a cemetary - it'd take quite some engineering effort to build on this site
Thanks for the cache, Floundering

Easy find by my Granddaughter Mya Napier. -keyring,+car. Interesting cemetery. The steepest one I have ever seen. Thanks.
For us its always a strange thing to search a cache on a cementory. This as well. At least it was an experience, our first cementory here in NZ.
Was a quick find.
Thanks

Exploring the Hokianga region today. This was the last cache of the day - just as well otherwise it would have been All Downhill from Here! Caught the 7.30 pm ferry from Rawene, and just managed to find Mabel without torches. No difficulty locating the cache. What a steep graveyard! Now for the drive back to Paihia.

Indiana Jill, Kayaknkiwi and I attended a caching event in the Far North (“Come North to 34° South, Far North"), and on our adventure, we stopped off at this cache. Very steep hill, but we found Mabel and the cache, as indicated in the notes. Took Ladybird TB. Lovely views from the top! Enjoyed this place . . . I love old cemeteries! Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC!
Indiana Jill, Seattle’s Best and I were off to attend the “Come North to 34° South (FarNorth)†Event, so decided to make it a caching road trip for a couple of days. Indiana had already retrieved but thought it would be fantastic for Seattle’s Best and I to tackle the cache. Wow, what a place, very special!! Retrieved cache, signed log and left the peaceful place. Thanks for bringing me here, brilliant. TFTC!
Wow, that's a steep cemetery! Shame the residents can't appreciate the fantastic views. Didn't take long to find the right grave, then the cache was quickly uncovered. Took it a little distance away to log the find, then had to wait awhile to replace it as the neighbours were giving visitors a tour of their garden, including a play on the swing and a look at their 'quiet neighbours' in the graveyard! Returned the cache when the coast was clear. Thanks for bringing us here. Took frog prince and left a UK keyring and Ladybird TB. SL. TFTC.
Lovely spot for a cache..really like these graveyard ones. Nice dry container with great goodies. Put in a 'frog/prince' took out buzzy bee keyring.. now have more rings than keys...could be an idea for a new cache theme...
Loved it!
What a history this place tells.
Stood wondering . . . . who amongst the townsfolk below are directly reated to these folks?
Took a tour of the village with a historic map & JaimeMac reading & directing on the turns. Fascinating! Had gotten the ferry over the nite before. Stayed at The Tree House backpackers, then grabbed the cache before heading back to the ferry and back to Auckland.
I saw a few likely spots for a good hide, but I'm too far away in Auckland. Thanks for this one.

This was a very interesting place. We loved the old photographs around on the buildings and the other historic artifacts including a cannon from the ill-fated Boyd. Easy to find cache but rather a lot of muggles around for such a place.

Holidaying in this pretty little village with the family, so made sure this cache was on the to-do list. Very interesting walk arond to find Mabel, and once that done, not too hard.

The day was fast coming to an end... thought we would detour to this interesting cache. Pulled up opposite, did a 4 point turn, parked the cache mobile at the gate. Noticed a muggle peering at us from up the bank... peer became a stare, until the cache site contours hid us... he gave up staring and we found Mabel! Then the cache she guarded.
Left a butterfly.
Love the nearby wharf, complete with truck... both rusted out.
GPSr showed a 105km journey back, but we managed to shorten it down to 25km. But still had a 40minute wait for the ferry.
Thanks.

1.55pm. In view of did not find log of 31/3/07 visited cache today just ahead of ominous storm clouds. At time of visit had not read the subsequent log of 7/4/07 of Beauty and The Beast. Found cache in correct location in good condition. Gently covered with leaf mould. Nothing stood out to me as misplaced around any of the nearby gravestones.

Found rather soon. The direction is SSW more than SE! Anyway, very quiet up here today! No swaps.
We were quite disgusted by the uncovered parts of skeleton of Graham - right next to Mavis, and even more shocked to find out it was our fellow geocachers drqn who dug him out in search of the cache.

We found Mabel downhill but we couldn't find the cache although we digged all arround her grave

Took the opportunity to try out the ferry and the nearby cafe's. Had a great time and then walked off to find the cache. What a quiet spot just off the road, thought it would be a challenge but we chose the right area and quickly found the cache. we are amazed at the slope here as it must surely make it hard for those less agile amongst us to come and pay their respects.
Tranquill setting. Will post photos later. TB Archer and bannerman paid a visit.
