What a perfect day and one of our best caching experiences. An energetic walk and spectacular views and then the caching really started, the sign with the details for the second waypoint had been stripped..... Mmm what to do? Good reception, the trusty ipad and some research skills suggested half of the required coordinates. Then it was on to using geo sense and plain old searching skills, we really got to know the peak . Luck was on our side and cache was found in its clever hide, the thrill of finding a cache when the odds are against you is hard to beat. Then to top it of, there was a geo coin languishing in the cache. Took TB to get it back on the road. All in all a great day and a fav from us. Tftc
Our 2nd DNF today.
We spent quite some time here at around 9:05:43 PM, but couldn't locate the cache.
We did all the hard yards, collected all the appropriate information and climbed to the highest spot. Unfortunately we failed to locate the "safe deviation off the path".
We did find a fallen tree at our calculated GZ, but didn't locate the cache.

I love this peak. Don't know how many times I've climbed this. It's one of my favorite walks I was very happy to find out there was a Cache here. Thanks for the fun
Loved this walk. Excellent view at the top and very spectacular rock formation. TFTC
OH MY GOODNESS Biggles Bear, you must be a mountain goat... Anyone over 50 u need to allow the full 2 hrs ++++, and bottled water, and respirator in car for return. (joking) what a majestic view well worth the epic trek, saw lyrebirds on the way up and back..And now the good new biggles bear is that your cache is very wet... and you need to go up there and fix it.. Hahaha
This was our second go at doing this cache. Just about 12 months ago we failed to find the cache. Today was great for a climb again, cool but a clear sky. As was mentioned previously, determining at what level the cache is hidden on is the challenge. The coords are very good and the terain is rated at 3.5, which is about right. There is no need to act like Sir Edmund Hillary !!!
Many thanks for the cache and the walk. The views are great,
Took the 2 TB's that had been there since February and left a Santa TB to enjoy the views.

Found after a bit of a search. Hard to work out what level you should be on but eventually found by descending the hard way! I would argue that the clues at wp1 are a little misleading re the fourth peak but its fairly obvious where wp2 will be! Left Funky Traveller TB to enjoy the view [and will post photo when we get home] and sparkly mirror. Took bear fridge magnet.
Thanks for a lovely walk on a beautiful day.
Thanks for a lovely walk on a beautiful day.
I have done this walk a long time ago (BC), I just didn't remember it being that long.
I did remember the great views from both waypoints.
All in all it took about one and a half hours return, that included a lot of photo time.
Thanks for bringing me back here, Robmc.

After being first to find, I managed to revisit this cache with my 73 year old mother! It was quitre a climb. I remembered that the ftf cache had no pen and I wasn't going back for one. I wrote the log in betadine! The original not was blurred, so I rewrote it with the now supplied pencil. Great to revisit this spot!
Found during our stay at Mallacoota, bushwalking and tick collection activities.
This was our first find for the day and last day of our stay.
Well worth the walk.
Thanks for the cache and history lesson.

Walked Genoa Peak 3 adults and 2 children 3yo and 6yo. Took about 1.5 hours longer than the anticipated 2 hour return but worth the fantastic views. Expect with little ones to have to carry them some way (hope your back is up to it). Found cache on return journey. Don't recommend children to seek it out (require an adult to wander off the path) moss was a bit slippery on the rocks. Well worth the walk and an enjoyable day tip on a clear but cool day. Took glass heart and bear, left ring and smiley face ball.
I finally found out what it means to be "moderately fit" per the warning sign in the car park. This cache is all uphill on the approach leg. This is my second visit to the peak, the last approx 15 years ago. Good to see the ladders at the top are all shiny and new - no chance of the old rusted dynabolts lifting away. Thanks for the cache. TNLNSL.
Found at 10.45am
Weather had put paid to our trip to Gabo Island, so what better than a walk to a peak,
Great walk and a lovely peak to climb, despite the grey scudding clouds.
These are the caches we really enjoy, a good walk to a scenic view,
Cache found after a short search

Top spot
Thanks

found today as part of our caching day while here on hols, along with Melbermans and Caddy07. Plenty of muggles about, who had no idea of what the odd bunch were doing chasing around the area.
I was last here about 40 years ago, and view seems to still be much the same as then!!!

Great climb. lots of fun locating this one. forgot to put Daunts as a finder in the log book. EXCELLENT VIEWS!!
Last came to this peak about 10 years ago but were unable to reach the very top because of a huge swarm of bees!
Made it this time but the GPS batteries died. Tried to find the cache from the description but no luck. Fortunately WobbleBoy is a techno-phile and managed to juryrig a connection to the mobile phone battery which allowed us to find the cache pretty quickly.
Met a potential new geo-cacher up the top - if he reads this then hopefully we have succeeded in getting him to give it a go...
TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache!
Jakkles & WobbleBoy
PS the pen has died. We only had a good one that we couldn't leave behind so it would be good if the next finder could leave a new pen in the cache.

Found on an Easter camping holiday to East Gippsland. NIce walk up although cloud was threatening, and did rain a bit at the summit. Found the cache after tripping over it! TNLN, thanks.
Found at 2.55pm GAFF2. Well we have actually been to the Italian port in question and now we can say that we have been to the peak as well. A very still day and unfortunately very misty so the views were a bit dissapointing. However we were still able to make out Gabo island and also got a great view of the upper and lower lakes of Mallacoota where we used to zoom around in our boat looking for those monster flatheads that lie in ambush around the sand bars. Thanks BB.
Yes we should have read the instructions first. After already visiting WP2 we followed the GPS to WP1 and then read the description. We did get to the cache in the end.
Great views. We signed the log and left a Blue glass heart.
Thanks for the cache Biggles Bear.

Lovely spot. Great view and out of the wind which batters you at the top.
Took waterdragon(well it looks a bit like a waterdragon) left rasta bottle opener and green teddy. Thanks

Found cache on a beautiful summers day. A nice walk in to the best scenic view in East Gippsland. Crystal clear day and could see everything. Will have to come back with climbing gear to try our luck on some of this awesome granite. Waiting up the top for a while for some muggles to leave the area. Found cache easily. Left a kookaburra and took a crocodile. Thanks for another fine cache Biggles Bear. Sydmick.
Found by Mary & David at 1120. The location also conjures up thoughts of sail designs and the birthplace of Christopher Columbus. A few other families making the trek today too, before the temperature gets too high. An amazing landscape of pebbles, rocks, boulders and larger. Here and there were glimpses of tiny blue and mauve bush lillies, then a heavenly spire of pink orchids. Stands of native cherries and silky oak marked the constantly changing landscape. Mary came along as far as WP1, then waited while David made the final ascent. What amazing views, despite a little smoky haze from nearby fires. Took surf key ring, left mondo doll. We returned to the car park 2h 5min after we set out. Our thanks to Biggles Bear for the challenge and for filling in a map square for us.
found at 3.30pm - great hide, fantastic views, something we probably wound not have done without geocaching! hard work but worth it, took us about 2 1/2 hrs with a lot of time looking at the views from the top.
took Californian GEO coin
left genesis tag & pen
thanks

This was a co-ftf with ds-fifty. My first ever ftf! The walk up was hard, but coming down came naturally. Saw a wild dingo on the drive out. Thanks for hiding this cache.
We were watching this for a while as we travelled west in Victoria. No one had found it yet. We drove up with expectant hearts. Could we be FTF?
What a great walk. We saw a dingo along with a lyrebird and plenty of other birds. WP1 wasn't really required, but the hunt from WP2 was enjoyable. Great views from tyhe summit and a pleasure to be FTF on this cache with Poodle-Smoodle. There was no pencil in the cache (or many swaps) so we filled it up with goodies and signed the log with Betadine on a stick! TFTC Most enjoyable! Left a California Geocoin.
