About the only thing I got right was to not.give.up first visit I had no clue, worked out via PaF at another in the series what I was meant to do, then today I missed crucial items came too far, guessed the adjustment and by sheer luck found the container. Its been dislodged and the logbook is very wet - had a replacement bag but not book so I made my mark & replaced slightly more securely. Thanks for a great couple of walks in this little part of paradise.
Oh my, this one seemed hella confusing. I missed the info sheet at D3 but spotted it here. The instructions were as clear as the creek water - or so I thought. After going back to my car and pondering what to do, I did some quick math and figured I'd give it a go even though I didn't have exact coordinates for #3 & #5. I'd already counted the planks, so I had a reasonable idea of where to search, and I found it in the third place I looked. A very lovely hide here, thanks!! Now I have to rush off to my doctor's appointment.
I needed to find a multi cache today in order to fill in a missing calendar date for [RoamingHowie's](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=24963346-56c5-4daf-8308-a01f60f5a5ba&wid=6a725450-9b6f-4892-abca-126a7026759c&ds=2) [WCW - 95% Multi Calendar Challenge (GC9Z59M)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9Z59M) and this multi has been on my list to find for ages now.I originally found my first cache in this **"Damper"** series, [DamperFive (GCYD70)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCYD70), back in [January 2022](https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GL16H8BDC), and I am sure I started this multi cache almost a year ago. However after gathering the information at the posted coordinates I wasn't sure on how to calculate the coordinates for GZ.Well with it being almost a year since I started this cache I decided today was finally the day that I would find it. Over the past year or so I gained a bit more knowledge on how to solve these types of caches and although I have still have alot of work to do to learn more about how to solve these I was able to get a rough idea of where I needed to be. However, I did have to resort to calling in a PAF to a previous finder to help me lock in the exact location. Once I arrived at the correct GZ, the struggle continued on this one. I felt like I checked absolutely everywhere, but after a lengthy search I still could not locate the cache. Finally I decided I would check one more spot before giving up and coming back tomorrow.Of course, the cache is always in the last place you look! An amazing bit of camouflage on this one. I thought it blended in so well and it looked great. So with this find the **"Damper"** series is finally complete!A big thanks goes to [JackRobin](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=da908578-fb07-4579-9ac3-55acd7750f13&wid=7e6bdc59-4c9b-408c-b8eb-1938d21e077f&ds=2) for this fun and challenging hide. TFTC.**Cache Maintenance Status**The information at the posted coordinates was in good shape and easily legible. The cache container was in pretty good shape and the camouflage looked amazing. However, it does appear some moisture has gotten into the cache container as the logbook appears to have had some historical moisture damage, but it was dry today and still has plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.
Today was mostly about the Golden oldies hence these caches were on my hit list for this morning, including this multi. Frustratingly, both multies left me confused. I searched both notice boards and read the information on both sides and could not make out anything that might be a hint to how to get to the next clue or how to work out GZ. I counted the planks. And found the two sister trad caches but was left perplexed. So I PAF for both. I found the working mathematics in a diagram within the cache and was very surprised to see I got the plank count correct. But I doubt that without further information, I would have been able to ascertain GZ. Cache hide was a nice suprise, especially with the fact it's 17 years old.
We started this series in 2020, so nice to finally find the final 'Damper' cache we were missing! After managing to confirm the last reference point we needed earlier today, we made our calculations and had a good spot to search. We had tried a while back to 'estimate' where we thought this one might be (based on the rough info we had at the time) and searched without luck. Turns out, we actually weren't too far off!
We both looked around for a little bit and were about to give up before I spotted something a bit out of place (actually right near where I thought it would be when we arrived!) and we had the last cache in the series in our hands.
Thanks for this one, had a lot of fun trying to work out the best way to narrow down the search location before eventually finding an app that helped with co-ordinates (and should also help on future adventures). Favourite point from us.

Many years ago I starting geocaching and there were a number to the North of where I lived. They were not traditionals bit required additional effort, which at the time l couldn't get my head around. Over the years I have given them a go and finally I have completed them. What a marvellous adventure around a beautiful reserve and each cache a new learning lesson. Thank you Sir for a such a variety of tasks to finally achieve their completion. A favourite for the series that has added to the pleasure in our hobby. TFTCs JackRobin and apologies for the time taken to log the completion.
I really like this series of caches. They are interesting and the hides different. Thanks for placing the cache JackRobin.
I found the information required and sat down. I decided that I would have no hope of working this out on the fly so decided to process this one at home. I worked out some coordinates which ended up being a bit out. The knowledge and experience of my caching chum was called upon and I eventually found this cache. Thank goodness.
Ooops - only a few days late logging. In Melbs exploring backyard childhood turf and on a multi mission and on care duty with mum. Nice time of year too. Found the first two awhile ago and finally realised that the elusive info required was staring at me! Now it was number 4 to locate. Having all the directions needed spent a while on paper to work out a fair location for this one despite not actually locating #3 as yet for muggle type reasons I’m thinking. My calculations put me in the ball park and it was only a case of logical careful searching and observation. TFTC and info.

*Cache find # 10815.*
Day four of dad's taxi service but today it was to Deakin Uni for the first official day.
So once I had dropped Sar off I had to make the most of my trip and find a few caches so I headed over to this one.
Now this cache I have sort of been avoiding.
But in the yearly days I had a look at these Damper caches and they confused me a bit so I stayed away but over the years I have been slowly finding them and as this was the last I needed to find I decided that today I will have a look once again.
At the start I eventually spotted and read what was needed, I then got my head around the task and set off in search of this one.
I gathered a bit more info along the way and before long I was at a point of interest where after a short search I had found the cache.
Now that was a lot easier than what I had been thinking all these years.
**Thanks to JackRobin for placing this cache.**

After doing some homework and checking our estimates we returned today to finish this series
off.
We were expecting this one to be the hardest of them all. It turned out, that our estimate was only a few metres away. Close enough that we could find the cache reasonably quickly.
Thanks JackRobin for this set of multi's which are set up a little bit differently.
Chiefton!!!

Needing to do a few more multi’s to get our numbers up we headed out to find a few.
Followed the instructions and off to GZ. A nice creek and bush area and soon we were off to GZ. A nice bit of camo was soon spotted and the hide found. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Our third visit back to this area.
With the others found, the only one left was this one.
Thanks for introducing us to geotoolbox. Without it we wouldn’t have come close to solving this one.
Many maps and many circles and finally a rough area for GZ.
Only two possible areas really presented themselves. Of course we chose the wrong one. Ha.
The cache was found minus its lid but it’s all back together now and back in its place.
Start at 5 would be my advice for future cachers.
Thanks for the walk. A popular off lead dog spot.

Can't believe this hasn't been found for so long. Hide needed to be de-bugged literally. Thanks for the cache and the PAF that helped us understand. Thanks for the cache and showing us this great area. Now to work out #5.
Finally! Was able to turn this into a smiley. After several attempts and with some help, I was able to grab this cache a couple of days ago on the way to work. It was a beautiful walk filled with the scent from a thousand flowers. Thanks for bringing me out to this creek.
Found #1, #2 a while ago. Recovered #5 a few days ago. Now it was number 4 to deal with. Having all the directions needed spent a while scribbling on paper to work out this one. Thanks JackRobins for this chase and hunt.
I'd been keeping this multi for a while both because you never know when you might need to find a multi for this or that requirement but also because it is quite....unique in it's informational requirements.
After sorting out the first part (since I had already found the other bits of information called for) I attempted to calculate GZ. Wrong! One bit missing which was given to me by a PAF.
Off to GZ today to find whether or not the calculated GZ was correct. Yep, second place I looked. Thanks for keeping this truly old cache going JackRobin. A really enjoyable way to discover the offerings of this fantastic linear reserve.

This must be my 5th visit now to this Creek Trail but I still cannot find the cache. Came back with another pair of eyes with me today but still nothing. Previous times came with extra pairs of eyes as well.
Had some time today to return to Damper Creek. I came here on a school excursion when I was at Narmara Primary School and we tried catching yabbies!
This was the first of the five, but I was out of luck. Counted planks, looked all around, but couldn’t quite connect the dots.
Another time.

Out and about with Jascat on this cold wet Saturday. We were on the wrong side of the creek for this one but Jascat carefully crossed it to make the find. Lucky the water wasn’t any higher. TFTC

With the new hidden creatures souvenirs in play there was no time like the present to be out picking up caches. I’m glad I had my snow boots on this morning as I had to cross the creek and I wasn’t keen on the idea of wet feet. An easy find once on the other side.

Out for a late afternoon trip with the lovely echidna44 to collect a few caches. The weather became rather damp and soon my footwear became sodden and my socks squelchy But things like that are no deterrent to a dedicated cacher.not feeling any drier and darkness descending rapidly we headed to this one. A PAF had provided some clues which took a while to unscramble. By now it was totally dark as we continued along the paths. Eventually arrived at an area that seemed to be right and a detailed search finally exposed this very sneaky cache and sooo glad that this is now a smile TFTC JackRobin
Out with au.fait, we had been here a couple of times, and felt this may be our nemesis.
Today with a little help, we found it in the dark!! What a relief !! We now have smiles for all of the Damper series. Logbook was wet, but we managed to sign it. Thanks JackRobin

No luck today. Searched everywhere possible for first clue at listed coordinates that appear to be in the middle of the track or vicinity of a tree and drain. Not smart enough to figure this one out myself. Might call for help.
I typically struggle with caches that don't rely on GPS coordinates, but I'm pleased to have turned this one into a smiley!
I found the rest of this series around 18 months ago, but went away to try and plot this at home. I came back at a later date but couldn't find anything, and after reaching out to a previous finder, turns out I'd overlooked something incredibly obvious! So back again today, I checked many possible places until I spotted an area that looked promising, and soon found the cache. And I'm pleased to say my calculations were pretty accurate.
Thanks for the different cache!

I had found one of this series (DamperFive) a few weeks ago when I was in the area but I got stuck at the posted coordinates for the multis. Having picked up a tip from another cacher in the meantime I headed back on Grand Final morning to take a look at the remainder of the series. After finding the three others and collating the information I needed along the way I knew where to head for this one. Even though I had the puzzle clear in my head I couldn't make an exact calculation in the field. So I was really pleased with a bit of interpolating to be in a likely area to search and to find the well concealed cache pretty quickly. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the multi cache JackRobin and a great series in this lovely reserve. A favourite point from me for an innovative way to slowly reveal the location. I can't recall seeing one quite like this before.

Having finally collected the information from Damper 3 and 5 that with the details from the posted coordinates for this cache we were able to calculate the location of GZ for Damper 4. Arrived at GZ and started a search and then realised we might be a few metres off. This time we soon found a nicely hidden cache and were able to sign the log. This was an intriguing challenge and different to other puzzles that we had come across. A favourite for this cache and the series. TFTC
Found with Winniethebear. This was quite the challenge being able to do this out in the field. We ended up plotting waypoints in cgeo from the initial set markers and guessing the bearings. It def would have been easy to be able to so the circles and then gather the circle from that. Nevertheless we did what we could, which did take some time to figure out the good/best way to do this, from that we did an estimation. Retrieved the avg for P and then set about our way. In the end it was a pretty easy find. TFTC.
This was difficult for legoman9x and I as we don't know how to use the app to project things. He ended up doing something rough to get an idea of where to search while I was just gonna wing it while keeping an eye out on the changing numbers to see if there's a match as we walked. His method was fine and cache was soon in hand. Tft series.
I really liked this one. I was here recently and collected the information needed for this and DamperThree, thinking I'd achieve better accuracy in my calculations and hopefully minimise loiter time if I crunched the numbers elsewhere. The information at the starting coordinates didn't leap out at me at first, but it's an impressive set-up and certainly something I've never seen before. I was pleased to find today that my calculations ended up putting me within a few metres of the well-camouflaged cache. Which is not to say I instantly found said cache. The camouflage is quite convincing. Anyway, I really like this sort of multi. If I was prone to ranking such things this would probably be amongst the top couple of dozen multi-caches I've completed thus far. Thanks JackRobin!

2nd attempt at this one and today we had success.

After visiting this one a while ago we found out we were not far off with our calculations we just didn't look quite far enough...grr. Anyway we returned again this afternoon and soon searched the area and this time came up with the goods. Thanks JackRobin for the hide, log book is a little damp but tipping it won't be getting any wetter with the hot weather coming, thanks for showing us the area.
Finally found after many evenings walking the tracks. I counted and recounted, Drew and redrew circles, studied the map and always ended up in the same place but just couldn't see it. Today I started poking things and there it was!
I'm also lucky there was a break in the rain.
TFTC and the challenge.
And now for Damper 3!!

This was the cache I spied in my research a few nights ago that made me head out to Damper Creek in the first place.
"I'll just grab #4 and be on my way", I thought...
After a few hours of endeavour through the latest segment of night, as Friday gently transmuted into Saturday, I had only taken care of Dampers #1, #2 and #5.
Wasn't able to return for closure until today. At least the interval enabled me to iron out the wrinkles in my arithmetic. So today I came brandishing some revised numbers that were so freshly calculated and promising, it would have made a Census statistician cry - well, sob a little more sweetly anyway!
And so it was, with ahomburg and the 3 Mini Welders that the 5 of us arrived (on 3 sets of legs) in a meandering way unto GZ. The numbers held true, as did ahomburg's eagle eye!
It was great to see all the names in the old log, but it is in need of some fresh parchment.
Emeylo returned the cache while Dynamo and The Blue Minion shared a rare peaceful fraternal moment together to reflect on the stars and moon in a gorgeous slice of nature.
Thanks again, JackRobin, for a most thoughtfully integrated series, which encourages the public to try geocaching, and invites the converted to explore the length and breadth of this hidden jewel.
The Damper series gets a well earned favourite point from me.
Well played!!!

Found this one today. I had previously done all the rest of the caches in this series except for this one. I must admit that the first time I saw this cache I thought too hard and put this on the back burner. Today I was nearby and had a few ideas about where it could be so I decided to attempt it today. I went back to wp1 and re-read the information. I quickly realised that my thoughts were wrong but I ended up with another possibility so I headed that way and then found a likely spot. I then looked around and had a guess where the cache was and I actually found the cache in the second place that I looked in. I signed the log and re hid the cache. I was really glad that school hadn't finished as I think it may have been quite busy here after school let out. I then walked back to the car enjoying the view and the location. As I was walking back to the car I decided that I was going to do the Multi month challenge and so this cache became the first multi that I did for this challenge.
Thanks for the cache and the series JackRobin.

After attending a nearby event, 88andy88, n0w0rries and I embarked on a bike journey through the paths and streets of Glen Waverley. These were on our hitlist.
This hide was a little obvious. However once signed, we noticed where it should've been hidden and replaced it as it should be. Cheers!

Out for a bike ride with OzHockeyChick & 88andy88 after the event today at The tallest tree in the forest.
Camo spotted as we rode past.
88andy88 soon had the container in hand although it was nearby, covered in bark and not actually in it's correct hide.
Signed and replaced in it's camo.
A great little area that I have driven past many times. [^]

I had finished DamperOne, Two, Three, and Five over my lunch break, On the way home I took a detour and decided to finish off the series today. I had already pre calculated the search area so when I got there I just had a look around, then another look around, then extended the search area, then realised that I was probably on the wrong side. When I got to the search area on the other side I soon saw a likely candidate and I was correct. I quickly retrieved the cache and signed the log. TNLN. TFTC.
Been working on the Damper Series for a couple of months now, and this was my last one. Some high school students thought I was very strange, as I was walking across the bridge very slowly, muttering to myself. Soon got to the required area, and after a few unsuccessful spots, I saw something suspicious. Grabbed out the log book, flicked through to find the page to sign, and made my mark. I was obviously not the first Emma here, original Emma seems to have kept us up to date on her life for a while, including letting us know that she was off to see Mariah Carey! Thank you so much JackRobin for an excellent series, that has been challenging at times but thoroughly enjoyable!
I still can't believe we actually found this one! It was very challenging and not something I've attempted before. I think I was just in the right frame of mind this morning and pretty lucky too. 3 things helped - doing the caches in the order that we did, reading the cache page closely so we did a necessary task on the way to WP1, and finally having the tracking feature turned on my GPSr - this meant we had ALL the info needed when we got to WP1. Maths is not a strong suit and I'm sure there is a fancy formula to find GZ but we had no idea of what that might be! We just used the given information and our decent GPSrs and found it pretty quickly. Thanks so much JackRobin. One of the best series I've done.
Out multi hunting with Hera this morning, and this was our fifth and final Damper cache. I was grateful that Hera had read the description as we walked and we'd done our counting when we got to WP1. I was also grateful that we'd done these in such a good order so that each cache led on to each other. We soon found the info at WP1, and baulked a bit at the task ahead of us. But then again, we'd been doing so well, and thought we would be able to do it. I used one piece of information, and Hera used another and we managed to pinpoint a likely area. By then we were about to run late for a rendezvous with The Rusty's, so we didn't have much time to overthink it. After initially searching in the wrong area, we righted ourselves and Hera found the cache. Huzzah for us! Five Damper caches in one morning, and many tricks learnt on the journey. Great series JackRobin. It was a real pleasure to explore this reserve and see what the Friends of Damper Reserve have achieved.
A pleasant stroll on a cold afternoon from one end of the park to another before finally locating GZ. TFTC
This cache was actually an accidental find as we didn't have a GPSr or mobile phone with us today. [8)] Since finding DamperOne late last year we often take the geobeagles to Damper Creek for off-lead walkies. We had found the clue at the initial co-ords the last time we were here as well as the number of planks. We had previously found DamperOne and DamperTwo but had not done the other multis required to complete the triangulation calculation.
From the numbers we already had we were able to make a very rough estimate of where this cache was located. As we were walking along the trail today I spotted something out of the corner of my eye and said to my friend that it could be a cache as it looked slightly out of place and it was about where we estimated this cache to be. On closer inspection we found that it was indeed this cache so signed the log at 12:10 pm. TNLN.
Thanks JackRobin for a fun multi, a cleverly camo'd cache and an opportunistic find. This was the first time we had found a multi without putting in the hard yards. The beagles enjoyed their extra long walk today along one of their favourite trails.

A very rewarding find once we figured out the clues. TFTH and the well thought through multi.
On a beautiful Saturday morning, decided to do a spot of caching and attempted to complete this cache series again. Having been unsuccessful in the past, was a joy to nail this one today.
Heading to initial coordinates I was greatly encouraged. Last time I had come, the notice board was full of information and I couldn't make heads or tails of it. Now however, literature is minimal so finding the necessary clues was straight forward. I had found two of the three caches mentioned so revisited these caches, entered relevant WP coordinates and began counting down the metres.
As I approached, realized distances didn't quite work out and realized I was on the wrong side of the creek. Ahh.. and there it was! Delighted to have found this cache & even more delighted to see a clue to the final in the series!
Cache contents were damp so even as I write this log, drying out the contents in the warm spring sun. There is a beautiful breeze, blowing, birds are chirping, somewhere a branch just fell in amongst the bushes and the occasional muggle walks by with their dog or friend. Awesome!!

The first in this series was almost our first cache, now the final one is our 169th cache!
We found the others at Easter, but didn't have the time or energy to make the final find (actually we were very close, just on the wrong side of the creek!)
Today we had 3 people and 3 GPSs which made it very easy!

It's 2.5 years since I started this series with Damperone and today I finally got this one, the last of the series. I had had a brief look 12 months ago for this one but my method of determining GZ was rather rough and ready and had me in the wrong spot - nd obviously no cache found. Today I had a bit of a brainwave and used a similar but much more accurate method and had a much better hope I was in the right spot this time so headed down for the hunt. Parked not too far away and walked to my targeted area and started the hunt. Saw a few likely hides but no cache, then walked a bit further an how about that, yep there it is! Cache is a dampish but log is not too bad. Given the age of this cache there are a lot of signatures in this one, including the highest number of muggle logs (dog walkers mostly!) I have ever seen! Thankfully no destructive people amongst them. Thanks heaps to JackRobin for this one and the series, a good challenging multi.
having left my mind reading cap at home, I looked at the notice board but had no idea what the clue might be
Out after work to grab a few caches. I decided to start with a trad not for from work and then head for a couple of multi that I have had my eye on for some time.
Have been skirting around these couple of multi's for some time and decided the other day that it was time. Had the general co-ordinates for the circle and after a good search I decided to think more about it and have another go in a couple of days. Walking back the first this I saw was something so out of place that I had to look and what would you know, yep, bingo.
Nice hide, nice puzzle and TFTC JackRobin

My 4th trip out to solve this series. I had worked out the rough GZ and made my way there. As it was night and my GZ was out by a little and I was working offline, I had to make some things out on the fly. Finally found it after a long search and happy to finish this series. Thanks for the caches.
Finally!
All up, it took us about a year to finish the dampers.
The Physics Teacher put the numbers together on a map, and once we got there it did n't take too long to find.
Thanks for the series - it was satisfying

12:05. Out with PKK... plus an assortment of kids. The Night Watchmen had done the other four in this series but this one eluded us. Last week PKK... and I did some reconoitering and established the value for "P" but that was only half the job. Now a reasonable man would have read the clues, taken a compass (the kind that draws circles) and found a suitable target area. Not me. I was determined to solve this by geometric methods so I dusted off Heron's formula (This guy is great. I have a Heron's fountain in my lab at work) as well as some Pythagoras and some trig and calculated the D4 coords. This can be done with only two cache locations so I then chose a different two caches and repeated the process. Sadly the coords were not close enough to be definative - the result of so necessary assumptions about the conversion of minutes of latitude and longitude into actual distance.
In the end I had to settle for a probable region and just test distances once we got on the ground. As it happens, once we got to the probable region we were at a significant place on the ground anyway and once we started looking I spotted something that looked a bit out of place. Sure enough ...
We signed the log, made a few swaps for the kids and treked out.
Thanks JackRobin. A great series and a fav from me. TFTC's.

We were in the company of the "crouching cranes" whilst doing this series & it had us scratching our heads for a while but we managed to nut it out & made the find. This is very imaginative puzzle & having two GPS's made it easier. Will give it a favourite point.
Recruited the GGG's to help me finish this series. Love the way the clues got you to GZ, 2 GPSs made the task easier. TFTC.
Didn't really have any time to have a good go at this one, as Mrs Mochilla and I spent too much time looking for DamperThree. But we took some clues away with us... will have a think, crunch some numbers and hopefully have a go another time. It certainly looks like fun!
A big "whoops" as I found this cache while looking for DamperTwo... so I never actually went through the clues etc. for this one. Nevertheless, when I next return to the area, I can hunt down DamperTwo as a secondary puzzle!
TNLNSL. Hope you had a merry Christmas!

After wasting a lot of time looking for circular areas on google maps and taking myself way off track I was guided back by all the coordinates and tonight I finally found by logically working it out at 5:30pm. Unbelievable amount of walking, jogging and dog walking muggles at this time of day. Managed to find a gap to sneak away and sign the log on the final one I needed for the Damper series. Dropped off a lego block and a trackable. Yay, managed to complete a 3km zone around my house now. Gee I learnt a lot from this series. TFTC and the hint JackRobin.

Having walked down to Three and realising that I didn't have enough info, I made the trek back up this lovely little track to Four. On the way I saw a couple of Kookaburras and a pair of Rosellas having a bath in creek. I collected the required info and made a guess at the rest and had a fair idea of the location of gz. I found the cache about 15m from my estimated gz.
Thanks JackRobin for giving me an excuse to explore this lovely bushland park.
Adding a favorite for the series.

A simple drive-by while returning from dropping the geokids to school certainly turned into a odyssey. I saw #5 on TomTom but ignored it, then pulled in to #3, only to realise when starting the real geodevice that I'd landed on a series.
This one took me over an hour to get, I was just not going to be defeated by it. I had some, but not all the info I needed, but it brought me to a likely position. I couldn't see it. I went up and down and back and forth, this side and that side. Then I did it the proper way, as I had the technology. I was in the right spot. Up and down, back and forth, side to side.
I gave up.
Went to another in the series. And there I had an idea. Returned and lo and behold there it was!
This one gets a favourite as a well-conceived cache that stretched me, that's for sure.
Thanx JackRobin!

I thought this may be tough but I realised on my stroll that I was making this task too complex, especially as my saved data seems to have disappeared from my phone. I really enjoyed this series of caches, thanks JackRobin.
Even though I had found Five and Three, I used a slightly different method to calculate GZ and my calculations took me close to the cache and it was found quickly given the description. A very clever hide again.
I have really enjoyed this series as I love the area and have learned a lot along the journey, both about the Reserve and skills for geocaching. Thank you for all of this JackRobin.

We are on a roll, found Damper 3, now for Damper 4. A steep learning curve with this one, working out projections etc etc. We got to the general area and were a little off with our calculations. Determined not to leave without a find, after a short search there it was. Thanks for the cache and the journey round this lovely park.
I headed out tonight for a quick caching trip up Eastlink to pick up a couple of newer caches and a few that I've been meaning to collect for a while. Another rather cold winter's night, partly cloudy but more importantly - no rain.
This was one of a few multis I managed to completed tonight. Having collected some of the previous waypoints on earlier occasions, I could finally complete them and make my way to the finals.
I'd worked out the info for GZ and with this information in hand continued to make my way to GZ. The walk was pleasant and very quiet in the late hours of the night with only the sound of the nearby creek running to be heard. A short search at GZ and the cache was revealed.
Thanks for the cache.

Found @ 19:15 with eldest geocachelette after picking her up from gymnastics. My imprecise calculations gave me a large search area which was further complicated by darkness. Despite this, we were within centimetres of the cache when my daughter decided it was getting too cold. As we started to walk back to the car I called a previous finder who confirmed our location. With renewed interest, the girl wanted to go back - and we made the find quickly.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache JackRobin, we have now collected the whole set.

OMG. Can't believe I found it - after looking at the instructions, previous logs and the need for computor programs I really wasn't sure about heading out for this - but armed with a new Etrex20 and with the incentive of a pathtag, I set off with geo dog to this great leads off park. I worked out that by using the mark waypoint setting and a bit of logic, the cache was in my hands far quicker and easier than I anticipated . 1 very happy geocacher! BTW - I think AmythistPig's intuitive find deserves the find! Observation is an important attribute! I have enjoyed this series and the challenges they posed. I am getting hooked on multis. TFTC.
Hmm, there seems to be a lot of 'estimating' of coordinates and lucky guesses going on with this one. I'm hoping to trump them all with this log...
Found @ 1450 while strolling through the park collecting others in the series. And I mean literally 'found' - I hadn't even looked at the info at the starting coords or pulled up the description of this one, I was wandering along logging a previous find when something in the back of my mind said 'Stop! Look there!' (it wasn't a voice I recognised - should I be worried? ). Moments later the cache was in hand, and after a conscience-wrestle I signed the log - after all, instinct is a big part of this game isn't it? I plan to collect the info from the start and work out the final location properly - I've just 'timeshifted' the actual logging! Swapped the 'quiet1_au' pathtag for one of mine. I also ran a one-man CITO event on the way back to the car as recompense for the unconventional approach. TFTC - this reserve is a welcome oasis in the suburban desert.

After much thought with a helpful program, we came up with a plausible position, entered the coordinates into the gps and were within 2m. Thanks for this whole series, we thoroughly enjoyed the creek and surrounds, even though we did have moments of great frustration! Tnln.
Armed with the locations (found and estimated) and with the help of a web-based mapping tool to narrow down the area I was finally able to locate this geocache and complete the series. I started them 15 months ago, but was still too green to figure these last few out... My estimated GZ was maybe 10 metres off but not bad going with the data I had to work with Left my signature path-tag. A good way to finish up the day - TFTC & series in this nice location.
Xambo4U and I started this series nearly 2 years ago when we found Damper1. We weren't successful on that first day on finding Damper5. We attempted this cache with the original Damper5 co-ords. This put us in the wrong location. We didn't really know how to calculate the final location of this cache so we left it. In attempting to solve another cache I downloaded a program which worked for me in solving the other cache. The program only allowed me to calculate the distance between 2 points not 3, so I had to do 3 different calculations to work out the approximate location. Tried the explain to Xambo4U how I worked this out, but it flew over her head.
Came up with a set of co-ordinates so off we went after work tonight. I was suprised how busy this park is busy at dusk. When we arrived at GZ I had the cache in hand quickly.

6.05 Out and about with Toycar tonight getting revenge. We had started this series it seems like years ago and now Toycar discovered a new app that could put our minds to rest. I must confess that its all above my head even though TC patiently tries to explain it, BUT I can hold a torch ok. We only needed to do 3 and 4 tonight as we had successful with the others before. We started at the start again just to confirm all is right and he explains it all. It is a lovley walk along the creek edge and the night is excellent for the job in hand. Found ourselves on the wrong side of the creek which was soon corrected. YES, YES, YES we (TC) have/has success TC is first to GZ and secures the cache. Log is very damp but we managed to get our names there.
WELL DONE TC. Its seems to be now all about the right app.
Love this series as it has made us work for it.
Thanks for having me along TC
Thanks so much JackRobin of the cache.

This cache has been haunting me for ages and today decided to tackle it once again. On an earlier attempt I had run out of time but also had not found Damper 5 so knew that I would need to return again sometime. Today and with my geosenses tingling I manage to find thr cache, YAY!!! I reckon it was more luck. Anyway due to the effort and style of this cache it for me is a favorite. Left Blue stone took nothing, TFTC JackRobin. Now only have Damper 3 to find....

I came back to this lovely slice of bushland today to complete the series. Having completed the other caches over several visits, I have really enjoyed the area and got to see so much of it. Thanks for a fantastic series and a great hide on this cache.
Finally found it (well, Peta did).
Thanks for the hint jackrobin, only used the first one. Got to GZ, the first thing Peta went for I said "nah, checked that pretty well last week", Peta's reply was "I found it".
Thanks again for a great series, although it took us 2 years to complete =P

Been about 2 years since I tried this one (got the rest in the series). Decided to go and find the old ones and start again so I could finish this but had the same result.
Any chance I could grab a hint? I'm fairly confident of my search area, but actually finding the thing proved beyond me (mind you, rain didn't help).
As with last time, cache or not, I love walking in this area so the day was still good.

Looked for this today. Think we must not have tried hard enough as we did not find in 15m before youngsters got bored. Hope the recent rains haven't washed it away.
Final cache in this series. Kids loved the find today. Google maps helped to pinpoint location. Thanks for this series. SL.
Returned to make a quick easy find of this one this morning. TNLNSL
Once again, we love the fact of you introducing locals to Geocaching but we think this one would be tricky if you were brand new to the game as its quite a bit trickier than a straight forward Traditional.
It is a great series though and we do recommend doing it. By the way this morning a lady asked us if we were bird watching as she saw us walking along with a clipboard in our hands so we gave her a brief idea of geocaching.
Thanks for showing us around this lovely linear reserve, JackRobin, we did enjoy it, and we actually commented that we would be very motivated to go walking just about every night if we lived close to a place like this!

So happy to finish this series. It's taken me three attempts, day one I completed the two traditional, day two I completed Damper3 and Damper5 and despite almost standing on Damper4 it eluded me. But with the help of google earth I triangulated a location and returning to the site I found it almost instantly. Thanks again JackRobin for a great series, challenging and in a great environment. Cheers!!!
Made a bit of a guess on this one and turned out we where right. At GZ the cache was almost found by accident. TFTC
Found this one with Covert after plugging in the numbers, adding some more numbers, guessing some stuff.. making a wrong turn/overshooting a right turn, incorrectly guessing the direction of a path, then thinking I wonder if... bingo.. meanwhile my GPS was telling me I was still 50m away.. goal!!!
We calculated a plausible GZ for #3, however it was getting late so I left covert to it.. turns out he found it rather quickly.. ohh well.. its close to work so I'll get back soon enough.. TFTC JackRobin..

Not a good day. When I arrived at Damper Creek Reserve I realized that somewhere along the way I had lost all my notes for what was supposed to be a long caching tour today. Damn, only the coords for Damper Four were already in the gps. So I just HAD to find it.
Given the projection task involved in this cache I was prepared to search in quite a large area. Initially I thought ‘if I had to hide a cache in this area it’d be along here’ but nevertheless continued to search for quite a while along here and along there and over here and over there. When I returned to my first guess and looked just a little bit closer …. there it was, nicely hidden, easy to get to, the perfect hide to finish off this series. Not such a terrible day after all.
Didn’t find my notes when I cycled home, but saw lots of other litter lining the road. I should seriously consider paperless caching.
Thanks for all the enjoyable Damper caches,

A little bonus to having to drive to work this week has been the opportunity to polish off this wonderful series...
After collecting the last of the waypoints yesterday I sat down today to try and cobble together a rough approximation of the last hide. Being without a Particular value, and having to make do with some pretty rough projection and circle tools, I wasn't terribly confident, but set off after work planning to have a little scope.
Pulled up in the geo-fender near what I thought was GZ and took a gentle stroll - The advantage to not being sure where GZ is was being forced to take it easy, stroll, and look carefully around me. A nice way of enjoying this area! Tried a few places with no luck, then moved to another and while checking a spot more out of curiosity than design, the cache cleverly appeared! Well done! Signed the log and allowed our oversized TB the chance to visit since it was in sight (just!).
This has been a great series, and really has brought a smile to my face. And it's great to see you demonstrating how its possible to showcase a natural area and create secure, clever hides without risking any damage to the bush.
Thanks from the Happy Chappies!
