Time to go

27-Jul-09
Found at 1512hrs as my 85th cache. For an old fossil like me I think Fossil Cove was a great spot and will certainly return when more time is available to enjoy the nature and beauty of the spot. TFTC and cheers OldSaint.

Magic! Thanks for this cache.

13-Apr-09
Great day - sunny, no wind, took our sandwiches and sat on the ledges - couldn't decide whether to be mesmerized by the gentle swell moving the kelp or to examine the myriads of fossils we were sitting on - couldn't help it. Thanks for introducing us to another wonderful Hobart location. Took a small key ring and left a geocaching wrist band, SL. TFTC

PS - neither of the two travel bugs were in the cache ( Rosie OR Landsharkz' Biking Against MS 2007 Geocoin )

Beautiful view. Have never been here before. Stairs were a killer. Would like to come back for a picnic one day. Shame I needed the hint - my GPS was all over the place.

12-Mar-09
What an amazing place, never seen so many fossils and even the way they are layered together. Great spot to visit.

01-Mar-09
Wow! This is a beautiful bit of coastline Smile
Far enough away to remain rarely visited and remain clear of rubbish Big Grin
The tide was a bit high for me to wander through the arch but I still managed a stroll in the other direction Smile
A group of seakayakers floated past while I was there.
Oh! How I wish I had my kayak with me Razz
TFTC.

Great spot. Went through archway and had a look at the other cliff. Very nice.
Found cache OK, Nice use of the NBC decom kit! Brought back memories of noddy suits.
Survived walk back up stairs.

T geodesign badge, L 3 * dinosaurs (thought suited cache as only fossils around now)

Found, logged it, took coin and hid it. We all went off to play on the rocks before attempting the climb to the car. TFTC

09-Dec-08
Headed down to this one early in the morning, unfortunately signal was poor near GZ, best I could get was an accuracy of 18M. The hint was needed and the cache was soon discovered. Took coin and dropped coin "Lord of the caches" in. TFTC Cheesies

Does anyone know if this cache is still alive? My daughter's TB (Rosie) was in there. Here's hoping! Thanks.

26-Jan-08
Not sure this one is still here, found a very 'potential' cache location by the cliff that featured a 'regular' size cache-looking lid, and as we couldn't find anything else we'd like someone to confirm this cache is still here

26-Jan-08
This one is disabled until I get a chance to take a look at it.

07-Jan-08
Phew, what a walk for a very warm day, but well worth the effort. What a magic spot. Took time to explore and take lots of pics. Thanks Cheesy Pigs for a great cache. SL, T - sun protection stick, L - classical music CD. TFTC

A great spot for a cache! Nice walk in and once there spent a little time looking around. Cache was an easy find. Thanks to the cheesy pigs for a good placement.

13-Oct-07
We spent a lovely couple of hours here at the cove this afternoon. Paulus Cacherboy and Cacherpop tried their hand at a spot of fishing while Sog explored and photographed and did the travelbug thing. We didn't really get to enjoy the area when we came here the first time (mad dash to FTF),so this was just great. Thanks again for putting this cache here.
Dropped Rosie TB and Landsharks Biking Against MS 2007 Geocoin into the cache.

We thought this was even better than the more promoted Fossil Bluff up in the north. We loved how it was hidden away with barely a sign to it. We spent ages exploring, taking photos, playing and, of course, finding the cache. Thanks for bringing us here. One of favourite discoveries so far during our holiday. TFTC

Logged 20 April 2009. We were looking back through photos of our trip and realised we never logged this find!

Such a beautiful spot, had some muggle company for a while but finding the cache was easy once they moved on. Stayed for ages, partly due to the place and partly due to prolonging the walk back up the hill with a two year old on my shoulders. Thanks Cheesy pigs, I think after that one I can miss going to the gym for a few days. Took frog and left beetle key ring.

15-Jul-07
It's a year or two since we were last here so what better excuse to return than to grab a cache.

There was no chance of getting through the arch without getting very wet today.

Took frog, left snake.

Thanks for the cache.

06-Jun-07
Ah, a bit of exercise! This was a great walk to a great spot. Really enjoyed this. TFTC.

09-Apr-07
Wow, another fantastic cache site! And another place we would never have found if it wasn't for geocaching! GeoGranny from Scotland, GeoJim and Gigglygecko from the Clan took the long walk/climb to retrieve this one. Well worth the effort though - this cove is just gorgeous and we had great weather for it too!

T: TB German Bear and two up set,
L: TB Hee, hee, hee...that tickles.

TFTC and for the workout too Wink

31-Mar-07
What a great spot, I have lived so close to it for 20 years and did not even know it was there!

The only other problems is, that when you walk down so many stairs, you know way back is not going to be as joyful or as easy.

Thanks for the cache, son swapped out a coin for a battery.

31-Mar-07
Found this morning. An interesting place so I'll be back soon for a longer stay. Thanks for the cache!

25-Feb-07
This only my 2nd cache, what a great one to pick. I found a way to the coast 370m u/s a had a great walk along the coast. The weather was sunny and a beatiful calm sea.
I took the Weighted Down Travel Bug because I will be able to place a long way from here later this week. Left a two up game

Thanks cheesy pigs for the great location

First cache of the day, and what a good one at that!!!

Enjoyed the spot, took lots of photos of the cliffs and rocks.

Top stuff, my kind of cache

Thanks!

Used to dive all along this shore and now am amazed at all the houses and roads. Lovely short walk. Took blue snap hook and left ear plugs. dropped off Weighted down travel bug, seems wrong to be putting him so near to the sea when obviously a non swimmer. Thanks for another cache cheesy pigs

17-Feb-07
Bast cache of the day hands down. I accidentally came down the wrong road, but intead of walking 500m down a bush track I got to walk 300m along the coastline. It's an absolutely awesome walk between some massive cliffs and ocean on the other side. Probably wouldn't recommend it during high tide or rough weather though, there's also a 2m rockface to contend with! Muggles at GZ so sat down and ate lunch (Jackman & McRoss roll, oh yeah) until they left. Searched for far too long, glad no one was watching!
Thanks Cheesy pigs, thats one under the 'never knew it was there' category.

After a long day those steps looked a little awesome..but not to be..that goat coming out in me again?Nice cove with small cave at low tide.Great spot.TNLNSL TFTC Cheers Cheesy pigs.

Beautiful day, beautiful views. My mum and I found out just how unfit we are but even my usually too energetic puppy was having trouble pulling himself up those seemingly endless steps Smile Took the little Roman guy and left some Asian luck tokens.
Great cache, a beautiful place we never knew existed.
Thankyou Cheesy Pigs.

Logging TassieGav's Cacheometer movements.

Great Day for a lovely walk! Lots of fossils, amazing rock formations and shells on the beach.
SL, T-mini torch & CD, L-carabineer & pack of cards.
Cheers

Nice walk, interesting fossils found - and so many. Nice easy find, took Don't be Crabby TB, left finger puppet, SL. Those herbal drugs sure look dodgy...
A very interesting place that I never knew existed. Very clever, Cheesy Pigs. Thanks.

Ah, looks like another lovely afternoon to go out and do three or four caches! Hmm, how did it get to be this late in the day - where are the holidays going???? Perhaps we will jsut do the one before we go haunting!! And, a great cache it was (stairs and all), everyone should visit this little cove and enjoy the surrounds. T red torch and comb (needed to pretty ourselves up in readiness for haunting!!), L frog magnet. Thanks for bringing us here.

Found it, along with the Black Knight...dropped off the travel bug...and forgot to record the number...again. I felt extremely stupid, running down the stairs to record the number. I missed a stair, and fell into the cliff. Nice cuts, should get a scar. Anyway, dropped off the bug, dropped off a music CD, NOT A VIRUS. AND took the compass. That is all, and Captain Nod, I approove of the new recruit.

Nice walk! Took lots of prodding of bushes and rocks to find.

We decided to bush bash from the cache at tinderbos hilss and went straight down a cliff with our bikes! Great fun. Covered in scratches.

Took three laserlights and stuff-it bags. Left paint, home-made herbal drugs and some beads. Herbal mixture contains Yarrow and Valerium and is a mild sleeping draft and also can be used to slem bloodflow.

A nice walk to a very nice little cove. Have to admit I was a little bit tense walking next to the dry grass - I'm suffering from a bit of snake phobia at the moment after finding one in my front garden! It was a bit too windy to enjoy the spot for long but I'll be back on a nicer day for sure! Thanks Cheesy Pigs. TNLN.

Nige - this is it! Back to caching basics! Snuva rates this one very highly and thinks more cachers should get out here before voting for Cache of the Year.

After just a short walk, you find yourself in a perfect little cove with, yes - you guessed it, millions of fossils. The cliffs themselves were beautiful, there were over 15 different types of sea plant, starfish, Schnauzers falling off their lead and going swimming, etc. And the peace and quiet was only interrupted by snokeling muggles who don't care if you're looking for plastic on shore. So of course HandsomeMan forgot his camera. . . TN, but will be back to take some photos!

And one futher comment to prove this one really is at the basics of caching: 'A great place I would never have found without this cache'.

Sog n Paulus were happily trundling along on the track to this cache when a familiar voice called out. "Oh bugger, its swampy" we said, "quick run!" The race was on! Swampy managed to over take us and made a b-line for one side of the location. Sog thought Swampy had the cache in his hands in seconds but that turned out to be his note book. On looking around to the other side of the location, Paulus was making his own b-line and was flinging foliage and fossils about in an first to find flurry. And yes he was lucky to come up with the goods. Thanks for the great location and cache Cheesy Pigs. And thanks Swampy for the thrilling race!

took the geocoin and a Kooky kiwi
left jumping frog. Thanks again Cheesy ones

They just beat me, just by a second!
Nice walk down the 6348 steps to the cove.
Would be a lovely place for a snorkel but heed the warning at the start of the walk.
TNLNSL, thanks CPs.

I cannot believe I forgot to add that I made this cache big enough for Kooky Kiwi, so she'd be able to continue her travels...
