I had had no luck on a different multi cache last night, so I came back to the area this morning to try again, and decided that I might as well have a look at this one at the same time.It took me a bit to find the correct plaque, I almost had to run a couple of laps of the track first, but I soon had some coordinates for the final. A nice walk along the path and spotted a couple of likely areas to search. I started looking in one spot, but then noticed the tell tale sign of a cache in the other location. No spiders in the cache but there was a big snail on the side.
First of all couple while on a pre-dinner walk around the area this evening. With the projection done, I was soon at GZ where a short search had me with the stash in hand at 17:40 once 2upoj2 decided which structure to search.I didn't even bother opening the soggy mess that I assume was the original logbook but the other one that a previous finder had included was dry enough to take my John Hancock. TNLNSL. Thanks Tramper Ted.
This multi was surprisingly easier than we thought when we trusted the compass. Looking around at the surroundings at gz, we had an idea of where the cache could be, and it was. Nice and easy, log all good and signed here. TFTC.
Down from Whangarei with Lis's crew & yvettetb on a Leap Day mission to get all available cache types and sizes in one day. As it turned out, we managed to achieve our goal and bookend it with FTF's to start and finish the day, with a few more along the way as a real bonus.Lis managed a nice quick find for the team here, whilst I kept a dog and his muggle owner busy a few metres away. Log book was very wet though. TFTC
I'm down with 0B80B8 and Yvettetb to collect a well planned and very specific list of caches to get as many add-ons as we could for our Project GC badges. I'll have to wait a while to get some as I don't have a lot of regular or large sized caches. It's a bit disappointing that there isn't 11 types to collect in Auckland. Anyway, we had a fun and very sucessful day.We came down last night because our main route through the Brenderwyns is closed for maintenance. Mum has an apartment in Parnell so that was a very handy starting point for todays outing. C:geo is great for projections so we were soon heading to gz. A muggle dog walker was enjoying time with his dog near gz. We grabbed it while one of us chatted to him. It was all very wet. We placed a new log inside a bag but a clean up of the cache would be a good idea. Thanks for the multi cache
In Auckland this morning for Leap Day to get the various Project GC badge add-ons. We popped down to Auckland last night due to the Brynderwyns being closed so we could make the most of our Annual Leave day.Thankfully not too many spiders here today. This cache however was very wet and soggy. TFGC. Found with Lis's Crew and 0B80B8.
Up from Chch and a quick find while out for the last groceries on Christmas Eve. Well I thought we had everything but there was one final trip! Darn, had no spiders to add to the clutter or cluster. Thanks Tramper Ted.
A nice quick find, once we looked in the correct spot. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today was the last leg of the journey, Cambridge to Auckland. Another great day, but the traffic out of Auckland reminded me why I no longer live here.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

#859 had some time en route home, and decided to get this while since the daylight hours are long. Cache was a bit exposed, so I tried to recover it with what I could find. Thanks for bringing me here, I had no idea about this little memorial. TFTC
This was the second cache I found today. Lots of muggles in the area of the posted coords this afternoon, but luckily not so many at the final location so I could find the cache quickly without attracting any attention. It was completely exposed so I added some natural camo when I replaced it. Nice easy offset multi, and thank you for the extra information too, it was interesting. TFTMC
I had worked out the final for this before I got here today and parking nearby I headed towards GZ. With a distance to go I dreaded it might be in there but a slide left had me somewhere better to search and the nice sized container was soon in hand. T F T C Tramper Ted.
With some poor weather forecast for later today, and some average stuff for this morning I decided that a morning trip out to an are we had a quick explore of yesterday would be just the thing. I've been solving up a storm this week with a combination of help from the CO, and some efforts of my own. It was determined to be the day to cache in some of my previous efforts and start to get some yellow smilies on my geo-map. I reckoned that the GZs I was due to visit would be quieter than usual because of the weather and so it proved - yay. Some mud and bogginess was encountered but it all washes off and that's great. Thanks to all CO's but especially tuolei for his puzzles.

Before heading out for a bike ride, we noticed this multi near one of the cycle trails on our route, so we did a little research and came up with some coordinates. Not sure where everyone was today, but the cycle ways were almost empty. Made our way to gz and saw a BIG bunch of flax and let out a BIG sigh - thankfully we checked another area that matched the hint and didn't have to search the flax. The cache was rather exposed when we found it, so added some natural camo before getting back on our bikes.
We went out looking for a kids cycle track. This was not quite what we were looking for but it was a most excellent place for a picnic. I had previously sorted the coordinates for the cache and was pleased to discover we had picnicked less than 100 metres from it. It's always great when a cache just happens to fit in with other plans. Yes, Jack Lovelock was an amazing athlete wasn't he - - - such a shame he met an untimely death. Thanks for the cache .
This has been one of my “rainy day caches” for a long time.
Although it was not raining today, I was busy at home all day and decided to go for a run to get this cache.
Quickly solved for the final and headed to the location.
Ended up in the middle of a flax patch. Strange things to be found there! Including a whole stack of old news papers, still in their plastic band, soaked wet and now hard as concrete.
Anyway, I excited the flax readjusted my search and found it easily!
Thanks for the cache!
So few finders in the last few years!

I have been meaning to get more multis recently and as it was a day on the calendar to collect a few looked around for what was nearby. Not too many to choose from these days that I know are still in place, so this was a good option to finally grab. I was surprised at how busy a nearby market was so parked a little further down the street in the softball carpark and walked back to it.
Could have done a bit more home work on this one but it didn't appear too difficult and in the end was quite straightforward. No problems with the find and all in good condition, TFTC.

How surprising this simple little multi isn't found more often? I guess some people just can't be bothered, or don't have a projection app or gps. Anyway, we enjoyed our little walk in this park. The summer has dried it out so much the spiders must have crawled into the deep cracks forming into the earth. Tftc
I was out this way after work today, and decided to pick up a couple of caches while in the area. People training, and running around, but I made easy work of tracking down the cache, all good here, cheers
Thanks for this Multi, Tramper Ted.
I am in Auckland for a few days & trying to keep a (so far short) streak of Multis going.... this was the only cache I found on a busy day.

At Lovelock track with Master 13 today for relay training (competing at the Colgate Games Jan 2018). Found the plaques got my bearings and after a short walk had soon reached the final. Nice hide! tftc
I used to spend hours at the track when I was younger. This made me miss that a bit. Thanks for the multi!
Yay we found a bunch of mystery caches along with the normal ones, and now we can add a multi to today's finds. I like the note to muggles that are in the cache with the log. Nice and dry, don't like all the spiders though. Tftc
I couldn't get right to GZ, but I got really close and did the projection, making a mental note as to how far away I way so I could apply that at the final. It turns out I didn't need to do that much work as the final was pretty clear. TFTC.
I did my projection and arrived at GZ, then groaned and thought surely not there, I hate those. I decided to check out a couple of other nearby places first and thankfully found the cache in the second place I looked. TFTC
After seeing previous successful logs, thought to try it again. Hari found it quickly without even GPS.. We are pretty sure we checked this obvious place last time. TFTC
Out and about grabbing a few caches and saw this one was nearby one we went to get for a license requirement. Got to use my waypoint projection function on my GPSr for the first time so that was fun - took us right to the correct spot and geowife found it nice and quickly.
Good sized container here - saw that the description wanted only spider related items but there were a few items that weren't so grabbed a tank and left a rat-car. Also dropped in a travel bug. TFTC.

Needed to find a multi today and this one looked very doable given that we were out this way. We parked up and walked over to the published coords to do the projection. Whilst doing so, we bumped into Dabsta who was also using this multi for the required souvenir.
We joined forces, and headed over to the projected GZ. One of the places we spent a few minutes looking in seemed very probable but there was no cache to be found in there, thankfully. But, we found a more likely place and it didnt take too long before the cache revealed itself. We signed the log, picked up the TB and made our way back to our vehicles. TFTC!

I needed to a multi today to collect a souvenir . This one looked like the easiest closest one that I had not yet collected so this was on the cards. Approaching the first waypoint I noticed some suspicious looking people doing something with a GPSr. After smiling to myself, I recognised MikeMiss who I haven't seen for a while. After teaming up, we both did the bearing and then made our way to the final.
After briefly searching the wrong area and me restating how much I hate a certain type of vegetation, the cache was soon found!
Glad to have finally collected this one as previous attempts had too many muggles around at the published coordinates.

Finished work early, almost as soon as I arrived at work! So caching was in order. Started here with this multi and when I arrived there was a market in full swing in this park. I was in my gumboots and just ambled past them all to find the plaque of interest. Just arrived as did the rain, so took shelter with a Korean lady doing her exercises in the nearby shelter. It stopped raining so I positioned myself back at the plaque and got my bearing and the distance and started walking. I ended up where I was supposed to because I found the cache straight away. Had a quick look round to make sure the coast was clear, opened the cache, and signed myself in. Thanks for that Tramper Ted.
Checked on this one on Sunday night and found it safe and sound in the place where it should have been!
GPS was not mu friend today. We searched a fair bit and had decided to go home but one last search using common sense rather than technology and we came up with it. Great fun for the boys enjoying a great local park.
First time we have ever visited this end of War Memorial Park (Kiwi use to play AFL at the May Rd end). We did not know the athletics track was here. Looks like some nice facilities for people to use. Followed the instructions and soon found ourselves in a likely looking spot with several options. Checked them all out but it took a second look to finally uncover the cache. Satisfying to know we can figure these little field puzzles out. TFTC
We found the clump... But nothing in middle... Looks like it is gone..
Initially thought the projection was wrong.. Tried again, pointed us to the same clump..

Love the history displayed at the track and great that it has been resurfaced. Was being well used when I called by. Compass worked a treat and quick find at GZ. Container is chocca-block full. TFTC
Took a party of 6x 9yr olds on a mission after a party at Clip'nClimb. Only the second time using the Sight'nGo function on my gpsr and coords spot on, despite rambunctious boys racing each other to be the FTF in the group. They ended up searching everything in the nearby area and getting lost in some dense flax! Good times. After they failed to produce a cache, I followed the gpsr almost exactly to the cache lovely day for it, tftc!
Doing a 50 day geocaching streak with some geocaching buddies....and also for my geo licence.
I was at an event in the park that started at 6pm on friday night, and finished at 12pm on Saturday. It was an 18 hour wheelchair relay....raising money for the Auckland spinal unit.
Needed a cache for the day....so what else to you do at 1206am....go caching of course :-p
Took a little while to find the cache...but found it

I had come to find this last year, and sadly failed completely with my projection. Returned today with and was successful, and found the cache in the first place I looked. Loved the guardian and the cache contents
Nearby in the carpark a market had been set up, selling fish and fruit & veges, so Friday is the day!

We were out and about collecting caches to help finish meeting the requirements for our Geo-Licence challenge. A nice little multi here, and we quickly gathered all the information we needed to get the final location. Had a good search around several items that matched the hint item before finally locating the cache. Thanks for the multi!
Went to long way and through a community market (on a Friday?) to get to plaques. Quick spotting of plaques, once I had walked all the way around the track lol. But then couldn't find the final cache. not sure if it was my gps or if it had gone because there was a lot of work going on in the area. I suspect the former, though it hasn't been found for a little while. Must come back
Out with beconaze hunting 7 different cache types. This is our multi and it's in a lovely park. Dropping off a ghostly track able as I think it will like hanging out with the spiders. TFTC.
Out with Onawe finding 8 cache types in one day. Tftc

Today was a Geocaching mission into Auckland City - I arrived by plane from Whakatane just after lunchtime, hired a car and set off on a round trip. The plan was to find seven different cache types, a list I had planned out in advance that looped around from the airport, to New Lynn, Point Chevalier, Queen Street, One Tree Hill and then back to the airport for a flight back to Christchurch at dinner time. This was the first stop, no issue finding the plaques at WP1, and since I was pressed for time I drove to the final, only to get there and see just how close it was... I think I'll just chalk that one up to being lazy. Search for the final took a couple of minutes, glad I didn't give up. Dropped TB. TFTC (1777)
Filling in a bit of time thought teenager and I would give this a go. Found the first point using skills other than gps..as gps on old loan phone is awful! Then used our observational skill and common sense to find the cache! Waited for muggle free timing..All there and in good order. Thanks!
Waypoint clue spot on had me right there after a bit of a search thru 3 different 'clumps' came up with cache. Tftc
Had never been to this park before so after checking out the plaques, exercising muggles and wall art, wandered off to GZ. Coords bang on and made a quick find. TFTC
Another interesting place I'd never been to before...cheers. Some cachers I've spoken to have had challenges with this type of cache in general and this one in particular. Have to say, that gps was a little off, but manual compass had me spot on...picked up TB's will move on...cheers V
Lunch-caching close to work with Reinmacher. This easy multi was fast found and contained a nice selection of goodies. Venturing to the GZ we recognized the coffee place nearby and decided to have our lunch there. It turned out to be an awesome place and its now added to our regular lunch spots in the area. TFTC
Enjoyed going for this multi with Ric after a group walk up and around Mt Albert ! Luckily Ric knows how to do projections ...!
Tried to use the quick calculation method but failed and had to try again,
this time with success. TFTC.

Mr & Master Jacksonz jogged up here while Miss Jacksonz was selling GG biscuits at the Sandringham Spring fair. We'd never been here before and it was interesting to read the plaques about the World Records that were set here. Heading off to the final we decided to shun the bridges, and do the more adventurous jump across the creek. Found it easily after an unnecessary detour through the clump of flax bushes. Thanks a lot for bringing us to this interesting spot.
This was a nice easy little multi for our 12 different cache types in one day mission (#10) - thanks for helping us to tick a multi geocache off our list
A virtual in Waihi and a webcam in Tauranga were the last 2 to complete for the day... (very long day but we got there!)

Nice easy multi for us today, as we were on our 12 cache types in a day challenge. This was #10. TFTC.
TFTC nice park
saw a scorpion in the container, whilst not a spider, scorpions are in the same family (Arachnid) - a fact I only learned recently so was timely to be reminded of it whether or not it was intended by the previous cache finder

Nicely maintained park and a great little multi - managed to remember how to get my GPSr to projct my waypoint from the original position and there were two obvious candidates. Managed to get the creepy crawlies on the second attempt

Visited and found new path has been constructed. Due to lots of rain ducks can even swim underneath the little bridges. Will replace cache in a different location on our next trip to Auckland in about a month's time.
Got to agree with the last cacher, the new infrastructure at ground 0 probably means this one is gone. Had a good look just in case - with out any luck.
We projected the co-ordinates for the final, but the area appears to undergoing some re-development. The hint made sense at our location, but the bridge at GZ is still being built! So our feeling is that this cache may now be encased in concrete! We took a photo at GZ. Thanks anyway.
Visited and cleaned out cache. Interestingly found it quite a few metres from where it should have been, so replaced it where its meant to be!! Cache creep indeed.
Needed a couple of multis today and with a pretty decent idea of where the final was set off with snakelion to see if we could complete the formalities. Coordinates weren't quite on the money but that was my own fault for rushing the projection but as luck would have it we came up with the goods in the first place we looked. Added a GC to the cool cache contents. TFTC
Out this way with evilno9 for some Sunday afternoon sun and caches. The projection was already sorted out, thanks to him so we just went in for the final. Nice and easy find with some muggles at the distance doing some sort of training. finally this one off this list!

Multi cache number 3 for the day, and a nice easy one. This park was a new one for me and its nice to know there is a running track like this around. Read up about the history and then calculated the final. Everything was going pretty well until I spied the cache and realized I would need to lie flat down in the mud, so my arm could reach it. Its not a good day geocaching until you are completely covered in mud.

Have only just worked out how to project waypoints so am trying to find as many of this typeof cache as possible so that I can improve, Soon located, all good TFTC
Needed a cache find today to help fill in the calendar matrix and my multi numbers could do with a boost, so this cache looked just the ticket this evening. Sketched out the rough general GZ with my thumb against the computer screen before leaving. Found a likely looking spot 149m from the posted coords and quickly produced the cache, even in the dark. Cache was partially full of water--which I tipped out--but the log book was dry enough. The water may have been because a string from one of the spiders was between the lid and the base of the container, likely interferring with the seal. Might be fine now, but may pay to check when the Ted next gets a chance. Cheers for the cache placement!
Having been a runner myself these achievements are indeed impressive, esp. the 30 and 40 mile runs and these speeds are fast over any distance!
Bills achievement on the track also pictorialised in the clubrooms of my and his former running club, Lynndale.
Found easily but offset distance slightly too short
TFTC and an opportunity to visit the park once again!

Found this one while geohashing, see here http://wiki.xkcd.com/geohashing/2012-05-29_-36_174 also a spot of kite flying was undertaken. Left a bug in resin (yeah I know its not a spider but it seemed to fit) TFTC! Nice spot.
Did this one under the cover of darkness. A few people walking laps of the track this morning. TFTC and history lesson.
Thanks for brining me to this wondeful historical spot - great to see the plaques giving due recognition. TFTC
Tftc. Went slightly off course at first but figured it out after a while. Lovely big box of creepys that four yr old loved!
I was out this way today for daughters lacrosse game, saw some runners, skate boarders and softballers, all doing their thing in a light drizzly day. Nice little multi, still full of spiders! Thanks for this one.
Was on a cycle ride between rain showers, mainly for exercise rather than caching, but since I lost my cycle computer, I now use the 62s as a cycle computer and this cache appeared on the map screen. I guess I had shrugged it off before as it was a multi and they are usually time consuming when I'm supposed to be cycling.
Very familiar with the park, so found the plaque without the GPS, couldn't pace-count on the bike, discovered a compass in the handlebar bag (GPS compass is faulty and won't calibrate, did a search in the wrong place, a couple of muggles walked towards me, so I cycled away intending to return after they passed. As a cycled away I saw another possible cache location and on my return there it was.

With it not being found for a while I was a bit apprehensive especially with the last DNF but it was where expected. Even early in the morning the park is busy. TFTC
Pretty sure I found the right spot to look. Could see the link to spiders anyway. Unable to find this time though. I'll be back to hunt again in Summer, or when I've got gumboots.
I don't know why it is that almost every time I see a clue involving a troll I can't figure out where its directing me. Really I should know and ultimately I figure it out but maybe going forward I will know that when a hint references a troll I'll know the first place to look. In any case once after a bit of fruitless searching for the cache I was able to find my brain, and very quickly thereafter, the cache. Nice spider swag in there! TFTC!
Went for a walk while Junior #1 was warming up for his rugby game on a rainy Saturday morning. Not many muffles at this end of the park today. Thanks Tramper Ted (Are you enjoying Wellington?)
Son found this while watching his brother play soccer. Great entertainment for a rainy day.
The plaque is currently in a building site, but got as close as we could to the coordinates and then followed the instructions. Soon had the cache in hand
I couldn't resist this cache. hahaha spiders. Like these multi caches. If you know more of these....please let me know.
Thanks (hahaha because of wrong reading of the instructions found cache after looking in the wrong spot for a while)

Interesting cache listing and nice area. Plaque is not there at the moment - been moved while all the building work is being carried out. Still able to find cache ok. SL TFTC
Great wee cache! It was a bit busy, lots of muggles enjoying their Saturday. We got it though! TNLN, TFTC xx
What a great wee park, dick dastardly the geohound had great fun in the stream. TFTC
Once I'd sorted out my magnetics and my trues it was a quick walk to the final location. A bit muddy there so luckily I had some rough clothes to wear over my work gear. TFTC, Biggles.
No problems finding the cache without the plaque.
Just avoided the fences and workers.

Sorry to hear plaque has gone as it is a unique bit of history. As long as you are at the co-ords then you should be able to get to the final.
Oh Dear...the plaque has gone. High fencing and dug up ground is all that is at GZ now. With a bit of guess work soon had the cach in hand. Thanks
