Hadn't been found since November, we feared that the cache could be lost; Gorby started to go berserk already but then it turned out that if your hands are long enough, the cache can still be found!

found it after our mercer bay event. the look out was sooo busy today with muggles. ivss_xx's long hands grabbed this one from its sneaky hiding place.

We had just attended the Mercer Bay event, when Gorby suggested we take ivss.xx to Piha beach. This was a very busy stopping spot for muggles. Thankfully they were more interested in the view, than what we were up too. Sadly someone has dumped a lot of tree branches near the cache, but with a bit of determination and encouragemnt ivss.xx soon had the cache in his hand. No DNF for us

After the ascent to Mercer Bay, we found that surprisingly we still had some energy to expend. I had with me [blue]Sharon, Harsha and Ivars[/blue] with me. Since [blue]Ivars[/blue] was a fresh visitor from Latvia and [blue]Harsha[/blue] has been here a little while haling from India, I decided that I'd take them and my good friend [blue]Sharon[/blue] to see the sights! What a sight from here alright. Very impressive no matter how many times you see it.

Lots of people around today but they were too busy admiring the view while I signed the log. TFTC

After my Event in the City funkymunkyzone took me and squeezy_92 to a lot of nice places and caches!

An early evening stop for us on our way to Piha hall. No one else was here tonight, and I'm not surprised! With the rain and strong wind it felt like I was going to be blown away. I couldn't believe I could see people still walking along the beach, brrrrrrrr. So glad the hint made this find quite quick. Thanks for placing this cache at such a scenic spot.

I almost forgot to log this one, I did this on my way in to Piha to do 'Marawhara Falls' cache. Had arranged to meet 4 other keen as cachers there at stated carpark co-ords but this one was on my way, so since no one was here I took advantage of that and the find was quite easy.

A trip into town for mrs capperz so a couple of trips in and around the city. Some yee-ha at Piha and being domain man at the Domain were the side orders for today and ended up at Mission Bay for fish and chips aside the beach. 10 caches today, all crackers and all appreciated. Some new stuff seen, as always and an appreciation of the beauty of someone elses play ground.

After a very very rainy saturday, the weather forecast looked better for today. I decided to come early in the Waitakere Ranges for walking and geo-caching !
Target of the day = go down along Buck Taylor track and come back to the car through Walker ridge track. I had to shortcut this trip due to flooded track near see level. Let's see it a good opportunity to visit Karekare and Piha !

Nice easy 5 minute Park & Grab find. TFTC.

At a look out you expect to have a challenge avoiding all the other "look outers". Had a couple of ditzy girls park right next to this one and were so absorbed in what they were doing they had no clue what we were up to right beside their car.

A quick stop off as we're leaving Piha for the last time for our final look back and to grab this last cache. TFTC

Out for a track run up Piha Valley, and was a little bit early, so stopped for a quick look for this one. Lots of muggles and traffic, and didn't manage to spot it because I misread the hint. Will have to try again sometime.

This is a difficult spot to get to a cache without people around but today was my chance as I was driving to the beach. Signed the log (or whats left of it-needs a new one) before people started to arrive.

Love this place. Went to check the water level at Kitekite falls. Very impressive today. Not much traffic going to the beach so was the perfect time to look for the cache. Log book a bit damp. Tftc

A plan was hatched last night to make an attempt on "Holey Mercey" cache in Piha with Nova and HPG, so we turned it into a day adventure and found some caches on our way up and on the way home.

Car park was pretty full with muggles taking photos, but luck was on our side and we managed to park right next to the cache, and away from the camera totting muggles. TFTC.

Was up in Auckland to collect the cache, holey mercy. We were collecting caches in the area and on the way home. It was a long day but always glad to add another smilie to the list

Out on a caching mission with Novalightning and HKCB to knock off Holy Mercy. Of course we couldn't ignore the other caches in the area so we left Hamilton early to get in a full days caching.

A stunning view out over Piha today. A few tourists around but managed to get the cache no problems.

We had to wait a little for a muggle in her car, on her phone to finish her conversation and to depart before we could retrieve the cache, but we did not mind as it gave us more time to take in the awesome view! Thanks for making us stop here! One of my favorite views to thus far in NZ!

Now we are on our way to Piha and then sleeping over at Muriwai.

A big thank you to all the geocache owners for being our “tour guides” in New Zealand while we are on our short holiday visit to this extraordinarily beautiful country! We traveled the North Island in our little camper van and we came across minimal damaged caches and we only had very few DNF’s.

Finally found this cache... I used to live in Piha and told myself I would stop to hunt for it every time I drove past. Never happened. Went back out for a visit and it was finally time! Great cache, great view and if you are a tourist AWESOME location make sure to check it out. TFTC!
