Description

A Trig Point is a virtual cache which requires a cacher to locate the Trigonometric Station at GZ.

A trig point (also known as a Trigonometric Station) typically consists of a black disc on top of four metal legs or concrete pillar, resembling a navigation beacon.

To log a find on the Geocaching Australia website, you will need to include a picture of the trig point, along with your GPS receiver and (preferably) yourself. Long distance / telephoto type pictures are against the spirit of this cache. You are encouraged to leave a description of your journey in your log to help others in finding the trig point.

Please respect local laws and regulations when searching for trig points. If you believe that a trig point is located on private property or in a dangerous location, you may archive the cache, by clicking on Log this Cache and place an "Archived" log on the Geocaching Australia website.

Catching up on some GCA Trig caches. Found this on a working trip to Batlow, with the opportunity to go for a cache drive after work one afternoon. Surprised to see this trig located here - does not seem to be the highest point at this location, but happy to claim it anyway. Very HappyClan Cerberus

Tumut Invasion trip May 2019. I was out for the day with Smitten Granny and whilst we were touring the forests around Blowering dam, we popped off the main road to visit this trig. The hill is overgrown, but the trig is great.

Thanks

Stopped by this one on my travels. Those blackberries are taking over, but I managed to get up close and personal eventually.

This is the first cache that we discover that is 1000m altitude in NSW and the view was a bit surprising, mainly of trees, though we could see the Batlow orchards through the forest. Obviously this forest has grown since the trig was placed. Today's magic moment was discovering brumbies at the trig point and the brumby pads criss-crossed the bushland. We strolled to within 3 m of the trig point but we wanted to stand on it so we had to resort to manic destruction of blackberry brambles and endure a few scratches to get there. The trig point was noticeably cooler than Batlow where we were staying.
