Decided to head out on a rare weekday off to find this trig, we came in from Yarramundi end both to get a bit of extra exercise and to avoid all the "private property" dramas from the other end (not sure if it is still a problem but i dint feel like finding out today) walk was pretty hot but pleasant enough besides the great high voltage power lines travelling over head. got to the trig which is a mere few meters although steeply above the track and took a quick snap had a snack and some water then headed back the way we came. It is getting to that time of year that it is heating up and being between the bush and the river we got 2 frights seeing rather sleepy looking Death Adders on the track.

Evil or Very Mad I always thought riverbanks were public land – maybe a special deal here. Anyway, I did the climb up to trig & gave it a hug ClappingDancing (well it is steep here) a nice view from trig Very HappySmileCoolLaughingRazz – many thanks

MrT has a broken finger that is in traction! Being a outdoors person he decided to do a walk from Yellowmudee, along the river then up To Mt Riverview. I dropped him off mid morning with the trig info on his GPS. He found it but with only one hand wasnt going to beat through the scrub always mindful this is a bad snake season, and he was away from main roads. He took this photo one handed on his GPS! TFTC

Having come across the private property sign along Riverbank Dr some months ago, I decided to come down from Mt. Riverview. Parking at the end of Grand View Dr, I wondered whether I should walk or take the mountain bike down the fire trail. I went with the bike. 10 minutes to get down, but then 30 minutes to push is back up. Well worth the effort though.

Parked at the first of two locked gates at the 'end' of Riverbank Dr and walked the up and down track alongside the wide Nepean River fed by a gushy Cripple/Fitzgerald creeks. Watching the full spread of water after the rain, this Trig was almost passed, when a glance uphill sighted it in the damp overgrowth. A slippery tentative climb to near as le 'mushroom was prepared to go, which was not quite the last hard yard. Trig stands with back to the River.

Returning to the GeoReindeer, a THIRD gate across the 'road' was closed behind ... with a Private property sign attached. Hmmm. Opened (and reshut) and scuttled away.

May explain the time between logging this Trig ... it is a pity if the 'end of road' has been flogged off to private hands, and the kilometre walk along the river closed for the want of a couple of hundred metres ... would be most pleasant in the summer.

Had the geo pooch getting a dog groom today in Emu Plains. As I had an hour to spare until she was done, I walked out to the Bonnie Vale trig. Wasn't sure which trail to follow but finally found the right one. GPSr was misbehaving and failed to receive anything while on the trail. It finally found my position and indicated that Bonnie Vale was only 250 metres away. Once near GZ, the trig wasn't too hard to spot. A slight lean in the pole, but besides that, a decent looking trig.

All was going well on the walk to this one, until the last thirty metres off the track. My son, who offered to climb for the photo almost stood on a snake. Gof that was a good scream from a fifteen year old!

Logged this newly re-discovered trig together with rogerw3 after about a kilometre walk along the Nepean River.

We drove to Emu Heights and then found a locked gate on the fire trail. Neverthless, the trek wasn't too difficult and the trig itself is visible up the slope from the trail.

rogerw3 has noted the odd 'lean' of the plastic part of the post. Otherise, this TS is in good condition. It seems never to have had a name plaque.

Nice views of the river . . .

'Three Thumbs Up' for the adventure and the FTF . . .

A great little find this one, just a few meters off the track and somewhat hidden by the vegetation, but still visible. A short scramble up the slope and there it is a complete Trig, well pretty much, the post has a severe lean where the PVC has been heat affected during a bushfire, it did not burn just showing how incredibly hot the radiant heat can be. The PVC on one side simply softened and started to lean toward the fire.
A very nice short walk to GZ as the fire trail is gated but well worth the little effort to get there.
