We were here mainly for the two golden oldie GC caches, and the AL that stretches across Finches and Devines Lines. Would we push across and grab the trig? We had initially decided to tackle the caches from each end, but mainly because of the trig decided on a loop walk and return along Wiseman's Ferry Rd - 2.5km. It was also 35 degrees and we had *just* not-enough water! We weren't wise-man and Wiseman today!
It's always a pleasure to find these trigs in great shape at the tops of big hills though.... I nudged the T rating to 3.5, 3 seemed to not do this walk justice.

On a reconnaissance mission walking the Finches Line circuit walk and stopped off to collect this trig. Overshot the trig by about 400m, so walked back and spotted an easier approach up onto the spur. Quickly made our way up to the trig. Trig is in fantastic condition with the remnants of the old rock cairn and trig vain nearby. After taking some photos, we continued on way along Finches Line.

Had a bit of time to spare waiting for friends at Wisemans so thought I would quickly duck up to this trig. Great day for a walk an easy find. This trig is in rare good condition for a bush trig with all its parts intact and clear evidence of the old rock cairn trig right next to it.

Did the Great North Road/Finch's Line track circuit today and had to make the deviation to this trig. Long time since I've seen a new trig. Went past the shortest route turn-off from the track right up to where the track bends to the left again and went up that way for a clearer run. A typical 1973-74 trig with the old trig depiled next to it. Scratched around for the plug but found a smooth flat stone only. Found a huge patch of Gymea lilies on the way out. A nice detour.

Ah Shankspony, maybe some people select a better route to the trig! Thank you for letting me navigate to this one today without any hints/tips from your previous trip.
Found Wiseman Trig today on a bush walk around Finch's line having already completed the circuit around Mills Creek. Lovely spot, great history.

Could this possibly be the same place Blossom and co. describe? Lovely bush? It seemed fairly thick scrub with lots of leaf litter, and quite hard work. I was glad it was just a short scramble up and down! It was satisfying to find though, and would be interesting to know the proportion of people who walk past without ever suspecting it's there.

What a lovely spot! I loved the walk along Finchs Line and it was an easy climb up here today. We had actually left the exact location in the car but I thought it looked a likely spot "up there" and was really pleased as we got to the top to spy the trig! yeah!
We then followed the top of the ridge along through lovely open bush until it intersected the walking track again.

I had a great time walking along finch's line, wonderfull views great history, especially the last downhill part and a Trig as well as a Cache.
We took a short deviation off the Finch's Track.
Despite being only 100m from the main track, I didn't see any evidence of other visitors to the trig. Apart from the concrete base & steel vane, which are both in good condition, there was another set of vanes and a pile of rocks that may once have been a cairn.
No views from the trig itself, but some great views on the convict road circuit,
