Logs
we are on our way home from the mega in Canberra and stopped here for the cache TFTC
Exploring around Maitland for the day and grabbing some caches as we go. Easily seen from the distance, but once you get closer parking and one way streets make it a bit more difficult to get a good shot. We turned down a street named after a church but it would have been a better photofrom the main road.
Monty certainly found the long way round to this one but we're here now. TFTT Geocaching Australia
A quick find while stopped to get lunch supplies for our caching day.

I joined a trip to Maitland with Aquilus1, dty73, Tankengine, Barb2e, Kitty Katch & Joolay. The weekends main game was to do the dogs head series, but along the way we did some old caches around Sydney and did as many Maitland caches as time allowed. The return journey was via some old caches and some challenges that may or may not be met one day.
Thanks

#GA2663 - 12:35; Day three of the 2018 Oz GeoMuster mission with Sol de lune. After a day hitting the geoart trail put out for the muster with Sdl and albida33 yesterday, today was all about finding GCA caches and perhaps picking up a dragonZone or two in the process. The plan for the day was to start in Morisset (naturally enough), work our way around Lake Macquarie and in to Newcastle, then on to Maitland and Abermain before heading back to camp. There had been a change of plans when there was a heavy overnight fog which left our tarps quite wet, so we decided to hit the trail, then return to camp to collect our swags once things had dried out later in the day, before heading for points north. We had finished collecting trigs around the lake and the suburbs of Newcastle and had now reached Maitland. Another quick stop for me to grab a snap of this trig as Sdl had grabbed it on a previous visit. Didn't realise until we were on the way out that I'd driven in the wrong way along a one way street Lucky it was a quiet time in the town! TFTT Geocaching Australia

After a days caching in the area we diverted to find some trigs on the way home.... It was reasonably quiet here today, so just pulled up and shot.

Spotted the church spire as we drove towards it, so again it was stop there to grab the required photo.
The van was too high to go in the multi levelled car park near here and after 3 laps of the block and not being able to find a suitable parking spot we resorted to parking in the orthodontist's car park!! The business was closed and we didn't want to leave the van here unattended so we took our photo of the spire from here. You can see the trig on the top but it is definitely our worst ever trig shot and our apologies for that.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Visiting Maitland for the Steam Fest and grabbed this trig whilst walking through town.
We took the kids to a fossil display across the road from this church and grabbed a quick selfie of this trig too.

Found Maitland B and C today (didn't get photo with C as hubby refused to drive back that way). My question is, where is Maitland A? Hubby wouldn't have given me time to find it if did exist anyhow. He didn't have any patience for Geocaching today and I was in the right place for some great caches to find and some with puzzles solved too. Oh well.
Geocaching Australia (GCA) Cache Find Number 1027 - 10216 overall cache finds.
Found during a Newcastle/Maitland caching run. While I mainly looked for GC caches, when an easy GCA cache comes along we go for that as well. Trigs are particularly nice to track down and find. I was very happy when they became part of the GCA cache family. Its especially satisfying if you have made a big climb up for one ! I have also now joined dragonZone in Clan Cerberus, so there are more reasons to find those GCA caches. Its interesting to find the many different types of trigs. From the traditional metal legs and vanes, to the concrete base with vanes, to the ones on top of water tanks (especialy the red ones !), as well the new CORS type. When you look on a GCA map and see all those hundreds and hundreds of blue 'Z's it shows just how many there are out there. Shame so many are on private property and cannot be accessed at all. So as far as I'm concerned every trig that can be found and photographed is a real bonus !
A nice quick 'find' of this Trig. Piccie taken and posted. Now for some shopping !

0045, so, sorry, but my photo is nowhere near as good as Roger's.
While in the area checking on some other trig stations / points that had been showing up on the Maitland 1: 25,000 1st ed. map 9232-4S I thought I would get a couple that had been published already. But it seems the batteries were a little low in charge to get a proper focus.
