CORS station, collecting geodetic data from GNSS (Continually Operating Reference Stations).

CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precisepositioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

On our way home sadly. But always time to stop of a cache or a trig or maybe both! Especially when your traveling with outdoornut22. This cord unit had us a bit stumped until we realized we had typed in the wrong coordinates

GCA 1537. Found this while triping around Cowra today with minniek.

An unexpected day in Cowra so we spent a while tripping around grabbing some caches - a lot of them crossed out previous DNFs for me so I was pretty happy about that. It was nice to visit the POW Camp area again - so much work has been put into that area - awesome. Seeing a CORS had been published we were happty to do the quick drive-by for a piccie to claim this one. Another find for me and for Clan Cerberus. Yah !

TFTC !!

Quick find on the way through Cowra today. Had to come and rescue fitzy and another cacher so made the most of the trip from Goulburn by caching along the way. I'm really getting addicted to finding all types of trigs and CORS. Bring on 100 I say.

23-May-17
One of the easiest CORS to access for a decent photo that we have ever found.
Just past that dreadful motel that we stayed in 4 or 5 years ago!!! Dirtiest place we have ever stayed in.
But thanks for an easy find.

Quick grab to make a small contribution toward golden dZ points.

#GA960 - 17:05; Decided to swing through Cowra on the way home after a day trip to Grenfell with the geohoney and her muggle friend during the Henry Lawson Festival. After collecting a few caches around Grenfell while the girls did some retail therapy, we were now headed for home and collecting a couple more on the way. This was the last one for today and after grabbing the snaps, we headed for home. TFTT Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus

I stayed in Cowra overnight on my way to the Oz Mega in Murray Bridge. I hadn’t thought to put any GCA caches on my GPS, but had the time to consult the mobile site on my phone over breakfast. When I saw that there were 2 trigs in town, I decided to find both of them before hitting the road again. This was the first of them.
