CORSnet-NSW is a precise positioning service that gives users access to fast and accurate positioning and guidance solutions across NSW. In recent years, precise positioning and guidance systems have emerged as useful tools across a variety of applications such as:

• Surveying

• Agriculture

• Construction

• Emergency services

• Mining

• Scientific research

• Asset management

CORSnet-NSW uses the latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide an accurate spatial reference network for NSW and support the growing number of precise positioning and guidance applications throughout the State.

How does it work?

The service is delivered by a network of permanent GNSS receivers – known as Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) – that are strategically located across NSW. The CORSnet-NSW network continuously observes and corrects satellite navigation signals in order to achieve international standard, high accuracy positioning data for NSW. The data is streamed to users via a wireless internet connection.

13-Dec-15
A day trip to Sydney with LuckyL10n for a few new GeGnomes and of course the odd trig or 21, with this one being the first stop. No joy spotting the object from our first vantage point, but a quick trip around the other side and the CORS was in sight. Happy snap grabbed and we were off and running for the day.....and another Sydney trig was crossed off the list. Clan CerberusClan Cerberus

#GA744 - 09:55; Sol de lune and I had decided that double points month made a flying day trip to Sydney to grab some more trigs and perhaps a GeGnome or two a worthwhile adventure. An itinerary was hastily prepared and today was to be the day. We were headed over to Rookwood as our first scheduled stop when Sdl noticed that this recently published CORS was enroute. We made the detour and after an unsuccessful attempt to make a sighting from the shopping centre carpark, found a spot near Paul Keating Park which gave us the right angle to take a snap. A nice added extra to start the day. TFTC Geocaching Australia Very HappyClan Cerberus
