Gallery of log for Solar powered

Where do you park your solar car? In Australian's biggest solar carpark of course.

When our local shopping centre was re-developed they built a carpark on top of the centre. Instead of providing shade with shade cloth sails or a conventional roof, the saw-tooth roof structure actually supports solar panels. 636kW worth of solar panels or enough to power 20% of the centre's air conditioning for a year.

In my photo attached, its not so easy to see how it works because its actually towards the back of the centre, although there is signage at the top of the ramp and when you are in the carpark you can look up underneath the panels. They are using the panels for shade for the carpark as well as generating electricity, although they don't work that well for rain protection.

Thanks for the locationless.
