Found this book on my bookshelves. Title of the book: Captain Underpants TFTLC

Captain Underpants!

The story revolves around two best friends called George Beard and Harold Hutchins who like to pull pranks and jokes on anyone and sometimes even on everyone. They also created many comic books, one of which was called 'Captain Underpants'! This obviously gets them in lots of trouble and (quote from the book) 'once it got them into BIG trouble'. (I'm not going to spoil the prank, read the book to find out what it was.) When they were taken to the principal office, Mr Krupp sat down with the boys and gave them some rules to follow and if they broke any of them they would be EXPELLED from school. After a few weeks George and Harold decided, NO MORE. With this decision, they bought a '3-D Hypno Ring' to hypnotize Mr Krupp and to bring some joy back into their lives. After the basics such as turning him in to a chicken and a monkey, they decided on attempting a different character for him to imitate. Captain Underpants! This is where the fun and joy begins for both the characters in the book and for us as the reader. I'll stop talking now, so you can discover the laughter for yourself.

I was laughing out loud (LOL) for quite a lot because of these books. The reasons for these ratings is because I loved this book and a few of the other ones in the set. The ones I didn't enjoy as much is because they didn't make sense, not funny enough and/or didn't fit in with the story. This is why the lower rating for the series. As for the movie it was clever how they merged three stories into one but I prefer the books. TFTLC
