Gallery of log for Donga (QGS 583)

I'm a bit late to the kayak party but only by a few decades haha. I finally decided to get one. I wasn't sure what type, style, size etc but when I decided what I wanted I was left with two more choices.. speed or stability. I chose stability. I'll be using this mostly for geocaching and camping purposes so I wanted to be able to stand up on it to reach hides and also load it up for some wild camping adventures.

I started at the western boat ramp. It took about an hour to reach the landing coordinates. A pleasant breeze accompanied me. I pulled the kayak up on land and made myself some lunch. Very peaceful here today. I then began walking up a ridge line that curved around to GZ. An old fence runs along most of this route. Once at GZ I found the usual galvanised iron witness post. This is a common find with old trigs in this part of Queensland. West and north of the greater Brisbane area this changes. I had a look around the area to see if I could find anything else but didn't. I may or may not have camped near GZ. The survey notes said "Flat topped knoll on end of spur. Sufficient room for camping." That's an invitation in my opinion!

A three hour round-trip. I'll definitely return to this area. There's a bunch of GC caches on my list to find here. Thanks for the cache Smile
