West End Reservoir is located in West End (funny that) in Townsville, North Queensland. Information on this tank is a little difficult to come across, but a similar reservoir nearby was built in 1924 so I guess this one would be of a similar vintage. The roof was added in the mid '80s, prior to that it was open and pretty popular with local kids in summer, we always had someone on lookout for when the council turned up, so by the time they unlocked the gate we were long gone.
