Gallery of log for WanAus 137 - WA State Survey Marks
1/ Marker number 'Van Tripps'
2/ Photo is of trigg marker directly above survey mark (hope thats ok)
3/ coords as above
4/ Area is dense bush which has prevented previous attempts for others to find, however due to bushfires earlier this year the dense undergrowth has been dramatically thinned out allowing access through burnt sticks, i got filthy but i did get through
5/ I had a bit of a quite patch in the week last month so decided to go find a few caches i hadnt had time to get. This trigg point is the closest to my home and was in the general area of the caches. After 2 DNFs on the caches, 'Goanna Gallery GC3Q79W' and 'Holy Moses GA1613, i was determined to come home with something.
I drove my 2wd work van up through the sandy fire trails, bottoming out several times, but with momentum and wet firmer sand i managed to get to within 650m of GZ. I then headed off on foot through, at first, very dense unburt bush, and nearly turned back before breaking through into the burnt section, much to my relief, going was still difficult as the burnt thin branches were still closely intertwined. I was certainly overjoyed at finding this trigg, which is also my first trigg find.
6/ Terrain would be 4.5
