Aaahhhh, I've been trying to stick to a "nature play Sunday" rule lately as things during the week have been increasingly hectic!
A friend had mentioned visiting the forest a few weeks back so I'd added it to my list of to-do's!
Unlike most people who have been here for the famous rally, I've driven past but never made time to stop for a visit.
Well, today we did, and we had a ball!!
We came armed with marshmallows, and stopped to forage some dry kindling & firewood on the way, and I'd also packed an old saucepan, and coffee and milk!!
We got the campfire cranking and enjoyed a rare afternoon of sunshine, and some lovely fresh air!
I almost gave up on this one, but persistence paid off and found it after a couple of minutes.
Cache is well stocked, and relatively dry with the exception of one 'souvenir notebook' (NOT the actual log book- that one is dry!) which appeared damp due to condensation.
I took nothing, left nothing, but upon returning to the car noticed that the smallest geokid had pilfered two tiny erasers.. I couldn't tell her off though as she thoughtfully nicked two so that her brother could have one also!
I will replace some items as soon as I can get back there, sorry about that!!
Thanks for the cache Honeysucker!
We will return soon!!

Oh my..... What an adventure!!!
I'm always on the lookout for cool new places to take my two tiny geokids so
last week, when I has seen this park pop up on one of those Facebook pages I thought "Wow.... That's going straight to the top of the to-do-list!!!"
We've been giving our gumboots a run lately, being school holidays, and having two little Peppa Pig fans in the house.
(Only Peppa Pig fans will know what I'm talking about there!)
It was a wide idea to pack an extra set of geo-kid clothes and shoes!!!
This park looked cool from the pictures and we'd recruited a few friends to check it out with us.
Deb has two adventurous little monkeys and I'd tried to convert her to caching many a time, and Anna, with one little monkey had travelled all the way from Murray Bridge for the day to explore this park with us!
Anna even brought her beautiful retriever, Tia along with her for a day trip!!
Tia the dog had a run around with some new doggie friends in the play park, and the kids checked out the playground and rode their bikes around the deserted park....
That was, until they spotted the creek!
Oh oooh.... After driving some Tonka trucks into and around the creek, the gumboot-clad boys went in to retrieve them, and much to our entertainment, proceeded to go bum-up on the slippery rocks!!!
And, since they were soaked anyway, they were then able to *swim* upstream and assist some dry muggle visitors with retrieving their upturned sail boats from their rocky fate!
The girls looked on from the bridge and remained dry and warm- the maximum temperature today only reached about 12 degrees! I reckon the water temp only reached about 2degrees!!!! Brrrrrrr!!!!
After a complete wardrobe change, a play in the cubby house tree, and a picnic lunch, we ventured off to introduce Deb to caching.
A Fourth cache was guarded by muggle council workers today so we headed the other way and found this cache!
I haven't had time for caching lately, but had figured that with 28 favourite points that this one was worth finding, and it certainly was! It's a great cache to introduce friends to caching with!
What a brilliant cache hide, a quality container in a superb spot!!
After about five hours here in the cold, we'd decided it was time to leave this awesome park and to head home to defrost!
My only advice for this park though, is to buy a good coffee on the way, (thanks to the lovely lady next door who boiled the jug for our BYO hot chocolates) as the neighbours don't have any on offer
Oh, and don't eat the mandarines from the tree near GZ!! Bleurghhhh!! [:o)]
Thanks to the Scoobsters for such an awesome cache to top off an awesome day!

Is a GoPro mandatory for this adventure?! (I'm thinking it should be, hehe!)
I'm looking forward to hearing the stories of this one!!!

That's twice now!
I'll need an extra set of eyes next time!!
We had a great time playing on the rocks today though, dodging the rapidly incoming tide!

Wow!
That was one of the biggest and most wonderful days out we've had in a long time!!
It's been a while since we've been here, and the geokids are old enough to walk a bit now! (YAY!!)
I had a quick check of the app while the kids sat down with an ice cream and figured by the name, this should be *there*....
Followed the geokid decoy into the creek bed and had a quick look, but now, looking at the photos, I was looking in the wrong spot!
(There were dozens of muggle kids all around the structure all day as the creek bed is dry still).
We spent ALL day here, walking and climbing and kicking the footy!
A DNF, but I'm happy to head back here again so thanks anyway!

We'd just sat down for a class when a new muggle friend next to me pulled out that list of "50 things to do before you're 12" list that's been circulating lately.
She asked the lecturer what a "geo-cash" was and the lecturer replied with "the person sitting next to you may well be able to answer that for you"
There's bound to be a quick traditional cache around here...
And it's bound to be a Captain Freddo one!
So off we went at lunch time to demonstrate....
Thanks for the history lesson Captain Freddo..
I took a photo of the fountain from down there, but earlier in the day, I took a quick photo of the view from the class, not realizing until now that there appears to be someone at GZ, and as today's discussions were about observations, I thought this photo was more fitting

Wow! What a day!!
We had popped the bikes into the car, with plans to head here for the day, but on the way, we detoured past the airport and saw that John Mayer's private jet was still here.
Not Long later, the engine started and the spunk himself wasn't too far away!
The geokids had a ball waving him off and we also met a couple of new friends there again which was nice!
Anyway, off to road safety where the kids made some new friends and I completely enjoyed a break from 4,000 kid questions per minute for an hour or so!
I was about 9m from the cache when I pulled up the app, but grabbed it on the way back when the horse patting muggles had left!
The horses are very friendly and love a fuss, except from the one with the short white mane!
Geokid swiped a toy cockroach, we had nothing on us to leave, but we have planned to meet out new friends here again Monday so we will being a swap back then!
Fantastic area for kids & families that really needed a kid friendly cache!
Thank you spidermonkeys!!!!

Take two... Jumped into the car this time had a quick look around before finding it!
Was surprised to see two logs in there already, and couldn't work out who MBB was, but after reading Monica's log, it all makes sense
Well done Monica
Thanks for the cache Thommo77

I popped by for a quick look after school drop off and thankfully saw Monica having a look around so I didn't look like so much of a dill looking around next to the road on my own
There was nothing to be seen and I figured it had been muggled already, or the coords were out.
I didn't think to refresh the cache there and then, doh!
I walked 4kms back home and sat down to check the cache to see the new coords had come through, doh!

Gahh, I've only just seen the email half hour after publishing so I've probably missed the local mini-flash mob event now.
Will add this one to the to-do list!

Yep, this one is gone.
I have a new container and will replace ASAP

Dropped past this morning.
Cache is holding up quite well
It's a shame the loot is almost empty as I had out a heap of great stuff in here when I placed it, to make it kid-friendly
Will top up next time I go by.
The playground is great in the mornings with plenty of bird life around!

After hanging on to these two lovely GC's for far too long, I was in town after a couple of fringe shows and remembered there was a TB hotel close by that I hadn't had a chance to get to yet.
And what a very cool place for TB's to hang out!
Another great piece of engineering Squeaky!
Thanks for the cache, and the muggle free safety zone to drop off some coins!
Left two GC's, took nothing today.

Checked this one last week. Thanks to the lovely cacher who repaired the bottom section

I managed to get out for a quick walk today with the intention of dropping off the two GC's in my possession but I could not find this cache today!
Once at GZ, I had a look through the recent logs and decided this spot probably wasn't safe for the international GC's anyway as it has recently been replaced after going missing
I've been here before but always enjoy returning!
Interesting historical information here, very sad about the three year old daughter
Lovely views from where GZ is!
I'll be back!

Six months this thing has been bugging me!!
Finally!!!
Initially, I was on the high side of the path, but did venture down to expand the search, and stopped just short of getting wet feet!
There's no water on the falls at the moment so took advantage of the drier conditions and looked upstream a little!
No phone signal here so found BFE style
Was delighted to spot two GC's in here, one of which was from Canada, and We actually stopped to speak briefly with some walking muggles at second falls, one of whom was from Canada
After being sorely disappointed at the lack of juicy blackberries along the 11km trail, (due to the drier conditions) I thought of have a quick peek at the bushes along the creek line and JACKPOT!
Plump, juicy blackberries galore!
Be sure to have a look
Saw a few koalas today, plenty of bearded dragons, and NO snakes!
Lovely!
Thanks for the cache Cypherage!

We have been to this awesome new park a few times now and I had a quick look then other day but came up empty handed.
Will try again next time we stop by, armed with a little reassurance I was looking in the right spot!

Thank you for yet another wonderful Christmas event, Team Scoobster!
It was a great day, filled with great friends, great treats and great fun & games!
I was even lucky enough to win a prize in one of the games, thank you!!
It's always nice to catch up with wonderful caching friends

The email pushed through ten minutes after the fact, geosquid was still awake, and the grumpy geobaby had just fallen asleep, luckily I had company to stay with the little one!
Grabbed geosquid and hopped into the car. I knew where to park, and quickly, as I've been to a few weddings here, and been to this park many times, recently for a huge KINDY in the park event which was great!
Did a quick loop of the FULL carpark and parked across the road and did a quick dash in my UGG boots carrying the geosquid in his jim jams and bare feet
Started barking up the wrong tree looking for decorations, and had a quick look at the compass.. Aha.. Hehehe.. Nah.. Better check there anyway.. Aha!
Nice one!!! [^]
Third to find at 19:27 I think it was.
Was hoping to catch the tail end of the FTF mob but not a soul in sight!
No problem with muggles here!
[^] great cache placement!
Thanks for the cache Chellesse!

Haha yep, too many 12's and 13's ttrogg oops!!
I'd seen this come out last night and was on my way up NE Rd today and I remembered roughly where this one was, checked the logs and saw it was now safe to proceed as Earthlight had already claimed a find!
What a neat little area, a bit of a descent, I know Earthlight likes a bit of a climb!!
You two are so lovely! I have enjoyed reading your delightful stories! You are both so beautiful!
Thanks for the cache XTrailers, I'll need to catch up with Earthlight soon too, it's been too long!
Merry Christmas xx

Not quite sure what's going on here....
A couple of weeks ago, the log book was taken but the cache itself was left here, now the cache container is missing but the log book was left here, in the snap lock bag it was in.

I popped by this Arvo to check on GZ, the cache was still there and intact but the half dozen dinosaurs are completely missing, as is the lovely geo coin that I had placed into here.
Strange.
(Hopefully, it's been collected by a geocacher who has signed the book, and has just forgotten to log the coin, and the cache online!)
It looks as though the creek has risen through here but I doubt that alone would have been enough to sweep the dinosaurs away to extinction...
Hmmmmm..
The cache is now in my possession while I contemplate the fate of this prehistoric walk!

Popped by last week and the spring grasses are flourishing, will reassess cache placement in a few weeks
I'll get there as soon as I can to re adhere the magnet!
3LG, I'd looked at the plaques, with a multi in mind, but who wouldn't have just looked under the cannon first?
