Logs for Caching Kid

25-Feb-07
I visited The Animal Sanctuary recently and have found it to be missing, so I am archiving it.
As The Animal Sanctuary has had a good life, I've decided that I won't be placing another cache in it's place. It is a nice family spot so I would be happy for another cacher to use that area for a cache of their own.

13-Jan-05
We had been in Launceston most of the morning and Horus suggested that Little Bast and I go and find Racing One's Tail. We didn't need waypoint one to find the cache's final resting place, as we had figured it out at home. It didn't take long to find the cache but we had to be careful of GeoMuggles.

Great family place and should have taken some bread to feed the ducks. Had to wait for some Geomuggles to leave after having a picnic. I didn't take as long to find this cache as I did at Rotten Eggs but we had to get Little Bast to retrieve it - tight hiding spot.

The school holidays had just started - yeah Big Grin - and there were some caches that were waiting to be found. So Horus suggested we go caching while Little Bast and I had the oppertunity to.

Nice hiding spot, I spent about 20 minutes getting frustrated - and hurt - then I decided to try and figure out where CraigRat would hide, in fact where I would hide it and in the end I succeeded.
Left: Bouncy Ball
Took: Caribiner

Great view of the Tamar and in the distance I could even see the faint shape of Batman Bridge. Across from the cache there is a lovely cache spot and I don't know why CraigRat didn't put the cache there. Now I have nothing to do for the rest of the holidays. Sad

Great spot for a picnic or having a fun day out! Left a wooden whistle and took a bouncy ball. Lovely view.
Thanks Team Tiges.

It was an easy find, the first - and last - place I looked I found it. Smile
Great view.

I waited till all the excitement of the race settled down before I started my quest to find this new cache.
I had a false start due to Horus entering in the wrong co-ordinantes. [:(!]
Great spot with a beautiful view. i really enjoyed this cache.

Thanks Waterwells.

I attended the Devils Day Out!!
It was great fun to meet other tassie cachers. It was a great spot with a spectacular view.
Due to Horus putting in the co-ordinantes for the Devils Day Out, i managed to get GZ. And i was the only one! Razz

Thanks Tassie Devils.

Well, you don't usually get a cache near a place like this.Interesting hiding spot, specialy what it is next to.
Cleaver hiding spot, if my eye sight wasn't as good as it is, I would have spent a while looking for it.

Oh, Waterwells, when you placed this cache, did you notice how silent it was? It seemed to me it was dead silent. Smile

Found it on our way to Devils Day Out. Didn't spend too long looking for it, it was an easy find.
Had to be careful about geomuggles passing by but there weren't too many of them.

01-Nov-04
With every step the water was getting deeper, and with bare feet we stummbled across the rocky sea bed. Numerous times I nearly landed on my bum in the water - the crashing tide against our legs made it hard to keep our balance. After what seemed like hours - only minutes though, we made it to the other side of the ever deepening body of water. After quickly putting on our shoes, we made a hasty retreat up the shore. Walking across the beach, our wet jeans making sqelching sounds, we noticed that we had been watched by some people with their children that were on the beach. We headed towards the car and decided that we should have lunch on the beach so our jeans can dry. We shoveled in some cheese and bacon rolls and washed them down with lemonade and solo while our jeans rapidly dried in the sun. Jumping in the car we drove off in a squeal of tyres, continuing our geocaching journey.

The moral of this story? Never trust tides and always bring a towel and change of clothes in the car when attempting this kind of cache. At least we didn't run out of petrol Smile

I like a challenging walk but that was near-impossible. Half way up I was puffed - not fit enough Sad, but it was a nice day so I enjoyed the walk up. Interesting ruins. Clever hiding place even though I spotted it straight away.
Took: Geocaching compass
Left: Shower and bath gel
Also, I left TB Titan (TB also means Traveling Bear) Smile

Today I replaced the cache container with something I hope will be more waterproof. I also topped up the contents and removed anything that was water damaged. I hope people continue to visit my cache and thank you to the cachers that reported it as being damp.

This is a great virtual cache - I learned a lot and had a good walk. It was harder than I thought because there was two lots of grafitti only 2.5 to 3 m apart, I couldn't find any information about the first person, so I thought it had to be the second person Smile

One of the easiest caches I've found so far. A beautiful spot. Took the coin from another country (where was it from?) and put a keyring handy knife.

Nice idyllic spot, took me a while to find it. Very clever hiding spot, I haven't seen one like this in Tassie before. took Canadian coin and placed a carabiner, or at least I think I put a carabiner, it's been two months since I found the cache and I forgot to log it!! Smile

Interesting place to put a cache, nice and easy to find, good for beginners, the bridge is elegant and big. Nice bush setting, took PNG coin and placed 2 carabiners.

20-Oct-02
Great hiding place Wanderers, I took the inscense and placed a squeeky duck keyring. I'm glad I didn't do this one at night - the geocaching ghosts could have been about. . . scary.

Had a great walk up to the top, enjoying the view. Walked around a bit - the GPS was playing up. Took the Loonie Toons Playing cards and placed a Tassie Devil Clip.

We found The Big Penguin a few years ago when we first moved to Tasmania, but only recently visited him again. He's not huge, but he's bigger than that little thing in Victor Harbour, S.A. Smile

Edited 16/12/2004 to add the Xmas photo of Penguin - Photo By CraigRat

Great cache Shannon, it was beautiful.
Good spot for a picnic or swim. I didn't see any mermaids but did see a couple of fish. It was a great day to go to Sloopy's Spa Bath. I had a good climb, then was dragged to the car.
