Logs for CobbaDingo

“Well well well... looky here.”

The sound pouring rain was accompanied a loud crack of thunder. Water dripped off my wet slippery body.

*Schlop schlop schlooop*
That was me.
I’m sliding down the mountain.
Pretty fun with a slippery bod.

Nice easy find.

Well that’s what they told me.
Day 3 we brought some boys.
Easy work we told them.
Day 9 we brought the shovels.
It’s gotta be just here.
Day 15 we hired the Bobcat.
The excavations started on the 20th day. Pretty soon Kalgoorlie and Karratha were desolate. The mining boom had peaked again, this time in the heart of Perth.
Days passed. The sound of trucks rumbling past filled the dusty nights.
Day 1007 was when Johnny gave me the call.
I answered.
Chills ran through me spine.
“I think we found it”

Not really.
Saw it pretty much straight away.

I was jogging past this map when me brain realised something.
If a woodchuck could only chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck how much wood could the woodchuck actually chuck?

I asked Bill.
He reckoned about 15.
Sounds pretty good.
I probably couldn’t do that.

Wait.
What’s this thing doing sitting near the sign?

Walking past this area then noticed something amongst the trees.
Curiosity drew me in.

That’s when a felt it. Right in me superior vena cava. A tingling sensation. I hit the floor. Electricity charged through my body like a dead car battery getting jump started when you leave your lights on that morning then gotta call a mate, mate doesnt answer so you gotta call Mum.
Mum answers.
She always does.
I tried to scream. I couldn’t.
That’s when I heard the footsteps in the dead leaves.

I closed my eyes. Flexed my traps. Embraced the warmth that touched my face. The warmth got closer. Heavier. Dank breath pierced the nights cool air.

“Mate... it’s freezing, just write your name on it already”.

Oh Sad.

-CobbaDingo.

Bit of a search but did actually find it.
Bring a pen.

Started cracking up when I saw this. That’s when I felt it. A crushing pain on me chest, like a stampede of elephants. John took off running. I was left to myself. In the woods. All alone. In the dark.
Good stuff.
Not really.
Didn’t happen.
