Logs for Crazy Cat Family

Not bloody climbing that again any time soon!

Wonderful views, and the family loved it.

What a lovely walk!

There's plenty for the kids to look for here if you pick up all the leaflets from the Centre. Also, if you hand in some photo ID you can borrow binoculars for a spot of bird watching too! (Or to check out the termite nests etc)

We actually only thought there might be a cache out there when we were already there, so didn't have a pen or anything so haven't signed the book, but the trusty iPhone helped add in a little something extra to an already fun day.

Just Jim on this one while the others enjoyed the beach. Not a fan of how sand gets everywhere, me.

So I had a look down off both sides of the wooden walkway down to the carpark but no joy there. Got up to the top and I could see where the cordoned-off area mentioned in the comments was, so I figured I must be getting closer.

It was then that I found this rather interesting gnarled tree. I mean, this thing housed a myriad of hiding places! Had I looked at the gallery for this cache I would have known that I was looking at exactly the right spot, but I just reasoned that this must be it.

Anyway, I looked all over it and can only gather that the clue means that when I come back I'd best bring a torch. It was daylight, but I couldn't see very far down into those holes and I'm not game to just blindly reach down into them and fumble around.

(Encrypting this in case I give the game away to those looking to avoid spoilers)

TFTC Geopilots, I shall return.

I've always loved the view here. We often come down in the mornings. At 10am every morning the ladies in the information building feed the pelicans so they can check them for fishing hooks etc. Such majestic birds!

Anyway, couldn't find the cache. After failing to find any round rocks we read previous logs and realised we should be searching under flat rocks.

The beauty of this place is that if you are here with kids then all the people muggling about won't suspect anything is up - you could be doing anything!! Nonetheless we were unable to find this cache on this occasion; there's more than a few rocks here!

Nice & easy, this one. No muggles on the Queen's birthday.

Harry, Jim, and Briana of the CCF did this one after the one in Kroll Gardens

As has been mentioned previously, whilst approaching this cache you may feel a little naked if you are not all dogged-up but you really do not receive any peculiar looks. Harry enjoyed saying hello to some new furry friends, who I'm sure forgot him as soon as we were gone but he was talking about them for a while.

This was Briana's first cache, and Jim and Harry showed her the ropes on this trip where we found 2 of 3 attempted caches. Now only 1 member of the CCF has not searched before.

Well whaddya know? I can read double binary!!

Thank you for the entertaining puzzle and the well hidden cache.

Harry and Jim of the CCF on this one.

Probably the first thing you look at and the last thing you think of checking. Very well played!

Not sure if it was muggled or animalled, but something was a foot so I've re-hidden it. Forgot my pen so didn't write.

Anyway TFTC from Harry and Jim of the CCF!

Good fun! A big outing here with 5 members of the CCF on the hunt. Harry thought it was very cool for it to be in an ammo box. Mind you; so did Jim. Laylah loved being able to swing a stick around in the woods, while Sam loved encountering a little area of bush in the middle of suburbia. Bridgette, on her first cache, was a little worried at the prospect of snakes but enjoyed the activity.

Didn't fare any better on round 2 and having read logs about tall husbands and such, Jim and Harry have been wall climbing and tree climbing. Jim is pretty sure he knows where it should be, but our 3rd attempt won't come until we know someone else has managed it after us.

Perhaps the 1-star difficulty should be changed?

Bloody good fun though! TFTC

Great fun! Jim, Harry and Sam on this one.

What a fantastic idea!! Harry miscounted first time thanks to a distraction. That put the coordinates across a rather busy road which could potentially be dangerous to cross, so we decided to recount. This led to an educational opportunity to teach him about tallying. (You know, the 5-bar-gate thing.)

Anyhoo, having found the correct co-ordinates the search itself was fairly challenging too thanks to imaginative concealment.

All-in-all very enjoyable. TFTC, Geopilots!

Curses!! My plans for domination of the peninsula are foiled!

What's that Darling?

Oh

OUR plans for domination of the peninsula are foiled! We'll have to try another time.

Wow, a real challenge with all that muggle activity! Harry found this one himself so Jim just played scribe.

Well it certainly was a walk in the black forest today as apparently they did a controlled burn yesterday!

Anyhoo, Jim, Sam, and Harry of the Crazy Cat Family found it by one of several scribbly gums, still intact.

Placement was very clever. The description needs updating as I was looking for a black bag that now doesn't exist

Opening the container was the really hard part though.

Jim and Harry from the Crazy Cat Family found this today.

We had to look for quite a while before returning to the car to check the hint, which confirmed it should be where we were looking for it. We then resumed looking and found it straight away! There's a well maintained swing-park and basketball court there so try not to go when muggle younglings would be around. Good luck, all you other hunters!
