Logs for Davehk

06-Apr-16
Fairly easy find with the hint. Would have taken a lot longer without due to unreliable GPS and multi-level GZ. TFTC!

Not everyone will agree with me but for an added dimension this cache is best enjoyed at nighttime when you can really enjoy the tranquility of this hill knowing the nearest person is miles away. On a clear night the whole of Shenzhen is lit up. I've also come across barking deer before at close range not to mention numerous snakes. I don't need an excuse to come here as this is one of my favourite spots but thanks for the cache which added a little extra enjoyment to my evening walk.

Great place with excellent views. Cache in fairly good condition.

Felt a little conspicuous being so close to the sensitive airport security fence but this quick grab didn't seem to attract too much attention! Glad the sprinklers weren't on.

Been past this walled village many times and this was the first time to venture inside.

Cache was an easy find and coordinates were very accurate and GPS signal good.

TFTC!

Due to popularity of this cache the log sheet is now completely full.

Easy grab and first time to walk along this new pier.

TFTC!

For a while I was barking up the wrong tree but after looking at some of the logs suddenly it made sense and the cache was in hand. Unfortuantely I didn't have a pen on me so no way to sign the log.

I noticed comments about the beauty of this park and it certainly is a pleasant oasis in the middle of urban TST. What most people don't know is that this is a very old park which was radically re-landscaped towards the end of the 1980s and probably the only part which is still recognisable from the earlier period is the bird park, a couple of the old buildings and some of the old retaining walls. Although it now has far more features and facilities, I sometimes wish they had left it as it was with it's old ruins, unoffical little pathways you could explore and a generally more carefree atmosphere. Maybe I'm just getting old and sentimental! TFTC!

BTW no sign of the TB which was logged into the cache.

Expecting something harder so took about ten mins for what should have been a two minute job. This is another favourite spot I found during my early days in HK & always nice to come back! Thanks. Btw I came without a pen yet again so had to make do with just a photo!

Second attempt at this one on a wet Friday night. First time I was looking a lot lower down. My GPS was a bit out but close enough to allow me to use my geosense. One concern is the cache literally fell into my hand at the slightest touch and I wonder if will stay in place through the wind and rain. Anyway thanks for this cache!

Second attempt at this one. First time I was very close but it was too busy to do a proper search without attracting undue attention and I didn't really get the hint the first time around. This time I was able to search at my leisure apart from getting the occasional odd look from one or two late night muggles and it wasn't long before I had the cache in hand.

Nice little hide!

Easy find after a pleasant afternoon tea buffet at the nearby Hyatt. Cache was in good condition although couldn't get the pen to work.

Dropped off the German coin whose mission as far as I understand using Google translate from German to English, is to remain in Germany and visit different caches! Maybe someone can take it back to Germany at some stage.

Local knowledge helped with this one and I pretty much walked staight to it. This location has long been a favourite of mine as it gives a unique perspective of the harbour.
There was an added bonus this time as the Queen Elizabeth was parked alongside.

Encouraged by my first find I went on to find this cache without too much difficulty while pretending to tie my shoelaces. Second ever find and first nano! This could become addictive.

Now I know what to look for, this was the easiest find yet and almost surprised it hasn't been found my muggles. The container is not looking too good and where once it must have been held in place by the magnet, it's now just slotted into a position nearby.
