Logs for Emantee

05-May-08
Cache has been re-established with new log book and a small selection of items. No need for new co-ordinates as it's very close to where it was initially.

13-Jan-08
The cache has indeed disappeared. It will be re-established within the next few days.

06-Jan-07
It is pleasing to note the successful location of this cache by Moneydork. We must, however, condemn his action of doing so in darkness. There are no visual navigation aids whatsoever on this lake. During 20 or so years of camping beside the lake, it is very rare for any boat to be seen/heard on the water after dark and any occurrence would be limited to fishermen returning home after getting over involved in the pass time. ATTEMPT THIS CACHE ONLY DURING DAYLIGHT AND THEN ONLY WHEN WATER AND WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE SUITABLE.

09-Jan-06
Checked the cache and all is in order.

10-Jul-05
We actually visited this cache about 12 months ago but did not formally record that.
This was a re-visit to drop off John's Sully TB as we've had him for a bit too long. Now he can continue his journey.

06-Jun-05
Home Boy is on the way again after a long spell.

Tee visited with Swanny at the end of the day when the temperature was close to zero. (Good time for Em to stay by the fire!)
No exchange.
Left Home Boy TB

25-Apr-05
A worthy successor to Puke Mataa.
A bit of exercise now and again doesn't do any harm.
Thanks

The reading indicated it was close but we had to negotiate around the cliff and it was a long way up. Worth it though in the end.
Thanks.
No exchange.

24-Apr-05
That stretch of water puts an interesting perspective on this one. The container was a bit obvious so we've corrected that.
Took My Sully TB

As Swanny records, we were looking for a suitable fishing spot. It transpired we were more successful at finding a cache than catching a fish.

Tide was well in but we didn't get wet feet. Great place to visit.

23-Apr-05
Almost had to be a guard whilst Swanny tried to avoid too much attention.
No exchange

19-Mar-05
A bit windy out there for surfers today.
No exchange.
Thanks.

Couldn't even find the footbridge for a start but perseverence paid in the end.
No exchange.
Thanks

Good to see that SS/AS played the game and restored everything despite their obviously not being geocachers.
No exchange
Thanks.

We've been past here many times recently and yielded to temptation at last.
No exchange.
Thanks.

18-Nov-04
Bulldozer tracks and obvious movement of earth give a clear indication that this cache has disappeared.

13-Nov-04
The weather is such that we'll leave the fortune for others.

A catch up log along with a few others.
After waiting for some time for the rain to stop - we eventually decided to risk it. Not very easy to find at all.
Took nail brush.
Left cat key ring.

Some wet stuff caused some minor issues - pen wouldn't write properly.
Took kiwi archer
Left insulation tape

No TB to swap and we're on our way into Hokitika so we have yet to see all the sights

A catch up log along with a few others.
One does get wet after it's rained so the description is good.
Left clicker.
Took Home boy TB

West Coast liquid sunshine continues!
Took cat keyring
Left packet candles

Took shelter in nearby toilet block to write up the log. We are on the West Coast after all.
Took clicker
Left phone torch

No wonder this place is so green, it's raining.
Took phone torch
Left rhino toy

We're on the West Coast and we're supposed to be amongst bush not gorse! Getting wet.
No exchange.
Thanks

First ones! Not too much wandering really - one can drive.
Took rhino toy
Left kiwi archer

Took more than a first look to find this one.

12-Nov-04
Pleasant place. No trains nor horses today.
Thanks. No exchange

Certainly can't go straight to this one. A really maxi cache.
Took key chain. Left push pins.

This side or that side? That is the question!
Took carabina
Left smiley hook

Plenty of people stopping for a look.
Left key chain. Took insulation tape

Took a bit of scrambling around but patience was eventually rewarded.
No exchange

By the way, we left a few extra pages for the log book, but more will be needed before too much longer.

The name says it all. Thanks.
No exchange

20-Aug-04
Sorry for the delay in logging this but it was interesting trying to locate the cache in 13cm of snow. It was a sunny day and therefore a good view of Aoraki. We had a young visitor from Germany with us and he made an entry in the log too.
Took keyring
Left lizard
Also left Lonely Texan 19 TB - all the way from London.

Second pass for the day - no snow at this one though.
Took candles.
Left cow keyring (ex Boundary View)
Thanks

04-Apr-04
A nice short trip to finish off a quiet weekend. Cooling off - clearly autumn is here.
Took Kiwi Tramping Club keyring
Left crab keyring
Thanks

20-Mar-04
A good lesson to read the logs before you download the waypoints.
As previously recorded, the cache is not there.

Just completed a great day with other cachers.
An interesting structure for sure.
No exchange.
Thanks.

Many thanks to The Sallies and Bear_Left for setting up this event. The trip was well worth it. Great to see Bernadette unhesitatingly leap into the water in a quest to get at the first clue. Well done.
Thanks again.
Murray & Tui.

Great day with warm north westerly wind.
Took crab key ring.
Left small glass duck.
Thanks.

A combined effort after a great gathering of cachers.
Thanks everyone.

22-Feb-04
The walk is very much a case of "what's just around the corner?".
Thanks must go to all those who have or will discover this cache accidentally and leave it "as is".
Left Panda bear
Took bag of marbles
Thanks

20-Feb-04
This was our 2nd visit to this cache but we've now got our own machinery etc. A cool wind was coming over from the back of us.
Left lizard
Took nothing (contents a bit thin!)
Thanks

An interesting place to return to as we had been here a number of times a year or three (or more!)ago. The track within the conservation area is what the whole lot used to be like so the vineyard development has certainly changed the landscape dramatically. The warning signs about mine shafts must be taken seriously - some of the holes are awfully deep.
Thanks.

A bit breezy but warm. Have passed here at water level a number of times.
Took lizard
Left smiley hook
Thanks

We have been here before but it's a pleasant place to return to.
Took panda bear
left torch
Thanks

As especailly poignant cache to visit as our parents are close by.
Nature had recently proved more efficient than any man made tap so intervention was not really required.
