"El Puente de Toledo" crosses between the "Piramides" round and the "Marqués de Vadillo" round, in Madrid (Spain).
From long time ago, there has been a bridge in the same place, that finished destroyed by the floods. For example, the built in the last third of the s. XVII was destroyed in the year 1720 (s. XVIII). It was then when began the construction of another stronger and picturesque one, the one that is known at present, finished in the year 1732 (s. XVIII).
In the pictures, you can see one plate with the last date of its rehabilitation, on November 17th of 1997.
The arches of half a point are carving in ashlars of granite. In the center of the bridge, on the pretil, there are two sculptures of "San Isidro" and "Santa MarÃÂa de la Cabeza". Both are mades in stone limestone by Juan Ron.
It is closed to the rolled traffic and it has become a pleasant walk way.
Best regards.
