Logs for Hillynath

11-Sep-12
This has been gone for some time now, with no action taken on behalf of the cache owner.

26-Jul-12
Found this one the other day when we found "Dam End" also.

What a great little spot this is, I think I'll have to bring a rod down here as it's screaming out Bass!

The cache was spotted after a few minutes of hunting. Then the challenge of getting to it without copping all those spikes from the surrounding tree!

Was a great one to find! Thanks for the cache Herbz.

Also like to say check yourself for tick's after this one, our friend found one on his leg once we got out of there.

Found it a few day's ago on our second attempt.

Wasn't sure about the fence the first time but once we knew it was somewhere on the other side it was easily found.

Very sneaky hide this one!

Don't know how I forgot to log this one, just have been rather busy with other things I guess.

Found this one in the dark and almost got ravaged by a HUGE spider! was glad to get out of there Razz

Well after a bike ride along here today we thought we would try for the cache at the end of the wall. We ended up giving up. Searched high and low with no luck Sad

05-May-12
How do I log this. I really don't know...

We arrived home before and I'm buggered. This cache was tough. If it could have a 10 star for terrain, it would sure get it.

We arrived at the stream and scratching our head's looking for the red ribbon. Took us a few minutes as we wanted to be sure we were in the right spot. From there we just started walking up. We used Herb's waypoint coordinates to get us to each part but even with those it was tough.

We were constantly questioning being on the right track and heading in the right direction, regardless of what the gps said.

Blue ribbons? Where? haha. I think we saw 2. One on the way there and 1 on the way back.

As mentioned, after the big rock it is just up. Scaling the side of this mountain through the unbelieveably thick grass and just looking up and seeing that we had further and further to go. The top wasn't getting any closer.

From the big rock upwards I dont think there was a track of any kind. But there is now, so I would suggest if anyone want's to do this cache, go now! whilst the grass is still squashed from where we went. It would make it a lot easier knowing that you're on a track and that you're actually going to get there. Constantly getting to points and just going "How the heck do we actually get up to there" Just push through any obstacles in the way.

I really dont know what else to say, the view's on the way up were excellent and well worth it.

The cache was an easy find and we were very pleased to have gone all that way and found it.

We left the car at the bottom at 9:30 and arrived back at the car at 2:00. so 4 and a half hours and we thought we were quite quick.. Considering the terrain.

Coming back down we lost the fire trail and only just luckily found it and it led us most of the way back down. The the 120 odd metres between the creek and the fire trail were also tough.

If i went again I would take a role of bright tape and leave a lot of marking's as that would make it much easier on the mind.

Damn this huge log, ill end it here. Thanks for the excellent cache and taking us up this monster!

I can see why only 5 people have found this cache in its 5 years of existance.

I can also say that getting closer and closer to the top, we were getting closer and closer to turning around.

01-May-12
Was running out of daylight quickly so we were in a bit of a hurry.

We trekked through the lantana (Oh don't we just love the stuff!) and walked around GZ but no luck.

IF by any chance the cache is meant to be at the base of a large hollow tree (The hollow part you cannot see from the lantana, it is on the other side of the tree) Then the cache was not there. As it looked awfully like there was room made for an ammo can but nothing there. We were most likely in the wrong spot however.

Will be going back again soon with daylight to spare so we can find this thing!

Found this late in the afternoon, left it a little late to find anymore but it was nice to get 1 quick one in Very Happy

Thanks for this Cache!

12-Apr-12
Laying in bed when I get 2 email's, letting me know about two newly published Caches that are 3 minute's up the road.

Straight out of bed and fired up the gps, adamant to get the FTF. Took a little poking around the spider's but once I was looking from the correct angle I had an idea of where it was.

Loved the cache container, blend's in well and made for an interesting find.

Thanks for these cache's that are close to where I live !

FTF at 11:50pm 12/4/12 Very Happy

Only a couple of hundred metres up the road from the other one (Drive-em Crazy), I would have been mad not to go for this one too.

Looked around first before I got physical. Came up with the cache rather quickly.

Signed the log and headed home. Time to get back into bed.

FTF on 12/4/12 at 11:55

Took my little sister out and showed her what Geocaching was, Took her a while to find it where as I picked it straight away haha Razz

Our first puzzle cache!

Was quite easy once I worked out how to read the puzzle Razz

Cache is in need of some restoration I believe, it's safely locked away from the elements however the log is getting a little long in the tooth.

All I can say is ANTS! ants ants and more ants... They weren't bitey one's thank god otherwise we would have needed to go to the ER.

A nice easy find and parked in the shade on the nice grass Smile

Another geocache find Very Happy

This one was easy to find and out of the way of any muggles Smile

An easy find and tricky to get the log out! Need some tweezers in my Geokit I think.

Thank's for this all hour's cache Aussie Liahona Smile

After getting a second hint from Herbz I knew I was in the right spot.

I was still scratching my head a little as I had tried every nook and cranny...

But we came up with the cache and signed the log!

This one was evil! haha

Thanks for the cache Herbz Smile

Found this one fairly easy. Was good going on a quiet day, made dodging muggle's much easier!

TFTC

Found it during a nice caching afternoon, quite a nice little spot to pull over and take a stroll.

Found this one after hunting for a good 10 minutes or so, a very sneaky hide indeed! Not quite as evil as "Dam start" Razz

Loved the stroll half way across the wall and the surrounding areas Smile

Spent about half an hour or so at this one scratching our heads, looking high and low, under and over. twisting and turning, everything we could think of.

No luck Sad

Perhap's Herbz could give me a hint? Very HappyVery Happy

23-Feb-12
Sorry for the late log for this one, hope I haven't caused a stir Sad

On another note, FTF Very Happy The whole drive out there I was looking at the car's coming back going "I bet they're Geocaching and have found it first" haha.

Such a great spot which I haven't know about in my 10 year's here on the Gold Coast.

I took the FTF goodies, a little book and the sticker which gave me a laugh "Give blood, Go Geocaching" haha.

Left an already scratched $2 scratchie (Yes it is a winner) a little ninja and also a trackable.

Thanks for this wonderful cache and once again I'm sorry for any mishap's.

The hint led us straight to this one, would have been nice to see the little creek flowing a little more. Maybe If i went up there now after all this rain we've had Razz

Oh and FTF Very Happy

My 4th FTF in 24 hours Very Happy That should keep me happy for a while haha.

It took some good eye's to spot this, but at the same time it was right there in front of me.

The more obvious is the less obvious in some cases I think.

Thanks Aussie Liahona! Smile

With this being our 4th of the day we thought we would have a FTF as the other 3 close by one's were ours.

But to our surprise it was Bubblegum, beating us by just under 3 hours!

Signed the log at about 11:55am.

Really liked this street and the great big tree on the way down.

So I got home from dinner at about 10 tonight and noticed this new unclaimed Cache.

Hoping for a first to find we got in the car and headed straight out.

It took us 45 minutes or so to find this one. I also personally think the description is a little misleading. We were about to give up and I just had another quick look and spotted it! Very sneaky!

Very happy we got the log and took the title for our very first FTF! Very Happy

Coordinates were spot on, should have listened to the gps instead of venturing all around (and up mind you) another spot close by.

20-Feb-12
Finished work and got home at about midnight. Only to see a few new Cache's not too far away. Getting eager for my FTF, I grabbed my Geokit and headed out there.

I knew the gate's are a 6am - 6pm thing but in the past at other unspoken of area's the gate's haven't stopped foot traffic.

But this case proved otherwise Sad

Logging this at 1:17am. Going to need more than a few hour's sleep so I'm afraid I won't be in the running for this FTF.
Maybe next time.

Second attempt at this one, did exactly as we did last time but just got lucky I think. was hidden quite well and blended in extremely well!

Finally completed the Paradise series! Only took us a month or so Razz

A great series and some tough finds. Thanks for going to the effort of putting these together!

took nothing and left a travel bug in place.

26-Jan-12
With the recent flooding in the area, this cache is going to be non existent.

23-Jan-12
Thorns! Itchy plants!

Maybe we took the wrong approach but I'm still itchy now Razz

Nice easy find however and didn't get spotted by the ranger driving by.

After searching around the wrong area instead of following the gps we found the cache.

Sneaky little spot and glad there were no muggles around as it would surely be a dnf.

Went for a wander down onto the dam wall for a look. It was flowing from all the rain, was really quite a sight!

TFTC

Easy find and stood out a bit when looking from the correct side. Tried to sit it flush for a little extra stealth.

Easy find this one. Signed the log and got on out of there.

I like the nano's, they make for quite the sneaky hide

The name made sense and had us in the right spot rather quickly.

Was expecting something very similar to the one just down the road but was quite surprised at this one.

Sneaky sneaky!

TFTC

The hint made no sense until I thought about it from a different direction.

Found the cache easily enough.

Reaching in with my eye's closed hoping for the cache and not some creepy crawly!

Nice easy find and a lovely little spot. Will have to come back and check out the creek with the rod's sometime.

The title made sense once we spotted it..

A slight dive into the shrub and we had the cache in hand.

Signed the log and moved on to the next one!

Nice spot up here with quite the view!

Was raining quite hard at the time so did a quick park and run.

Please note that we came across a snake right by the GZ.. Lucky we spotted it passing by or we could have stood on it. Tread carefully

Easy find and nice location.

Another easy cache for the day. Parked and decided "This is a bad spot to enter due to the muggles driving by"

Parked in a closer spot and didn't have a problem.

Found it today, another cache in the bag. Very easy find!

Another easy find for us today in this heat.

The hint helped a lot and made it a quick find thank god.. Couldn't wait to get back in the air conditioning Razz

Good little spot in this industrial area. Already knew the shortcut through here to get back on the highway but made for a nice little cache hunt in the trees.

TFTC

Gps took us straight to this cache.. Was an easy find between muggles driving and walking past.

Discount's for all who find this cache! Very Happy

Found this one after walking along "tapping" things. Didn't understand the clue really and just stumbled across the cache. Didn't find the first part which is a clue?
Was really cool coming across what was inside. haha.

Thanks for this little series Smile
