Short Trip Away Day #3 [25/11] of 3Day three of my holidays (and day #3 of 3 for my trip away) saw me leaving the motel early to start the day. I started by heading over to Fyshwick for a couple of caches over there. For nice easy-ish ones. Three in the Fyshwick Forrest and one over in the park next to Maryborough St. After finding those ones, I headed over to Belconnen to find a couple of others and then onto the Mall for lunch. While at the Mall, I also did a game of 10 pin bowling because why not? I got a score of 120. Big Grin Once I finished up in the Mall, I started making my way home. I found the next lot of power trail caches along Dog Trap Rd. I have decided on doing these caches section by section given, I drive past/through here so much. From there, I headed home while finding one more in Binalong before getting home. It was a great weekend away and I quite enjoyed catching up with everyone. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTCs! Big Grin

I said to myself. I have driven past this one and it successor many time since placement but I had never stopped off to get them. I had some time today so I stopped off to get them. I walked over to this one first given I needed the required info for the multi is here. Once at GZ, I spent about 10 minutes searching and I didn't spy it. So I took a moment to rethink, collected the required information for the multi and then started searching again. Then I spotted something that required a closer look as I hadn't searched it yet. Bingo, I found it! Big Grin It has been signed and replaced and now off to the multi cache.

I collected the required info from the WP, and found that cache. Then it was time to head over to GZ of this cache. I got started looking for this where, I thought it was but I couldn't quite see anything but that is when I got a bit more elevation and looked elsewhere and that is when I spotted it. I'm glad I'm not any shorter otherwise I wouldn't have been able to reach it. It has now been signed and replaced ready for the next finder. Thanks and FP given. Big GrinP.S. It just makes me wonder if there is anymore along this nature strip as there is enough room for at least two (maybe three) more caches. I understand that there could be caches I haven't solved yet that are hidden along here but I certainly am curious. Hmmm...?

Big GrinThis multi gave me a bit of grief as it wasn't as straight forward as it would of been when it was placed. Finding the answer to B was really easy but as for the answer for A, it took a quite a bit of thinking. This is because due to the tree growth and new natural camo, the answer I got was wrong based where the coordinates of GZ, were taking me. So I had a rethink, and eventually came up with a plausible GZ which was where I was thinking it could be anyway. After my higher then T1.5 walk over to GZ, I got started searching. After a short search I found the cache safely tucked away. It's great to have another multi on my find list and now off to the next one. Big Grin

This is the script of Skinner's [Steamed Hams] Story.[Chalmers rings Skinner's doorbell. Skinner opens the door.]Chalmers: Well, Seymour, I made it, despite your directions.Skinner: Ah, Superintendent Chalmers, welcome! I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon!Chalmers: Eh...[Chalmers enters. In the dining room, he sits at the table and places a bottle in an ice bucket, while Skinner runs to the kitchen, only to find his roast is burnt, and gasps in horror.]Skinner: Oh, egads! My roast is ruined! [Chalmers' knocking on the kitchen door can be heard as Skinner looks at Krusty Burger across the street from his window] But what if... I were to purchase fast food and disguise it as my own cooking? [chuckles] Delightfully devilish, Seymour.[Skinner begins to climb through the window, but Chalmers enters the kitchen and catches Skinner trying to leave.]Chalmers: Uh--![Accompanied by a montage of scenes of Skinner and Chalmers from previous episodes, the theme song to an imaginary sitcom titled "Skinner and the Superintendent" then plays:] Skinner, with his crazy explanations The superintendent's gonna need his medication When he hears Skinner's lame exaggerations There'll be trouble in town tonight! Chalmers: SEEEEEYMOOUUURRR!!![The scene goes back to Skinner's kitchen]Skinner: Superintendent! I was just...uh... stretching my calves on the windowsill. Isometric exercise! Care to join me?[Smoke can be seen coming out of Skinner's oven]Chalmers: Why is there smoke coming out of your oven, Seymour? [points to the oven]Skinner: Uh... oh! That isn't smoke, it's steam! Steam from the steamed clams we're having. [Massages his belly] Mmmm, steamed clams![Once a suspicious Chalmers leaves the kitchen, Skinner breathes a sigh of relief, climbs out the window, and runs across the street to Krusty Burger, where he buys hamburgers and French fries to replace his burnt roast. The scene cuts to the dining room, where Skinner comes from the kitchen with the fast food on a silver tray.]Skinner: Superintendent, I hope you're ready for mouthwatering hamburgers!Chalmers: I thought we were having "steamed clams".Skinner: Oh no, I said 'steamed hams'! That's what I call hamburgers.Chalmers: You call hamburgers 'steamed hams'?Skinner: Yes! It's a regional dialect.Chalmers: Uh-huh. Eh, what region?Skinner: Uh... upstate New York?Chalmers: Really? Well, I'm from Utica and I've never heard anyone use the phrase 'steamed hams'.Skinner: Oh, not in Utica, no. It's an Albany expression.Chalmers: I see.[Chalmers takes a bite out of a burger and chews it a little, while Skinner sips his drink.]Chalmers: You know, these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burger.Skinner: [chuckles] Oh, no! Patented Skinner Burgers! Old family recipe.Chalmers: For steamed hams?Skinner: Yes.Chalmers: Yes, and you call them steamed hams, despite the fact they are obviously grilled. [opens one of the burgers and exposes the patty's grilled pattern to Skinner. Sizzling from the kitchen can be heard]Skinner: Y- Uh.. you know, the... One thing I should... Excuse me for one second.Chalmers: Of course.[Skinner enters and leaves the kitchen swiftly upon seeing it is now on fire]Skinner: [pretends to yawn] Well, that was wonderful. A good time was had by all. I'm pooped.Chalmers: Yes, I should be-- [notices the intense light coming from the burning kitchen] GOOD LORD, WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE!?Skinner: Aurora Borealis?Chalmers: Uh... AURORA BOREALIS!? AT THIS TIME OF YEAR, AT THIS TIME OF DAY, IN THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY, LOCALIZED ENTIRELY WITHIN YOUR KITCHEN!?Skinner: Yes!Chalmers: ...May I see it?Skinner: ...No.[They exit the house as the kitchen fire grows larger.]Agnes (voice): SEYMOUR!!! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!!Skinner: [looking up] No, mother, it's just the Northern Lights.Chalmers: Well, Seymour, you are an odd fellow, but I must say... you steam a good ham.[As Chalmers begins heading home, Agnes starts screaming for help, causing Chalmers to look back towards the house. Skinner gives him a thumbs up and a fake smile, causing him to keep walking away. Once Chalmers is out of sight, Skinner rushes back into the house to deal with the fire.]Agnes (voice): HEEEELP!!! HEEEELP!!![A fire engine is seen speeding down the road with its siren on.]

Big Grin One last quick find before heading over to the mall. Thanks. Big Grin

Today, I had enough time to come over here to find it as well as the two other caches here. I parked the car and made up over to GZ. I found the cache in the first place I looked. Thanks for bringing me here and now over to the nearby multi. Thanks Big Grin

Short Trip Away Day #2 [24/11] of 3Day two of my holidays (and day #2 of 3 for my trip away) saw me having a slow start. I ate Bfast and then headed off to catch up with some non-geocaching and ex-geocaching friends at the Woden church. Along the way I stopped off quickly to find the final cache in the Under Athllon cache in the series which was the second cache of the three. After church and the catch up with my friends, I headed over to the arboretum for the lunchtime Geo-event. It was a great event with all talk Geo and yummy snag sandwiches. Next I headed down the hill to the lake to find some of the newer caches that has popped up recently, including a very unique AL. I then went up Black Mountain to find a couple of ALs and a bonus cache. From there I started making my way back to the motel but not before finding two more cache which has been on the to-find-list for far too long. I also quickly stopped off to get some dinner. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTE & TFTCs! Big GrinI did the AL for this cache a while ago but never found the bonus due to timing. Today, I was driving past GZ for about the 100th time but unlike the last 99 times, I had plenty of time on my hand. So, I stopped off and parked the car in a spot which wasn't really legal and got out to find it. I found the cache quickly and soon it was signed plus replaced. I was in and out in about 3 minutes which was great because one came up and asked why I was parked/doing there. It's great to have finally gotten this one off the list. Thanks for the cache. Big Grin

Big GrinThis cache was my last find of the day. I have been here a couple of times but couldn't spot it in the dark or muggles pulled up behind me. Today, neither was the case, except for the muggles driving by while I was finding it. A couple of minutes of searching and I had the cache in hand. It was signed and replaced ready for the next finder. Now off to get some dinner and head back to the motel. Thanks Big Grin

It was also my only find before midday because of the reasons stated above. This one has been on the to-find-list for far too long and so while driving past, I stopped off to find it. After the short walk to GZ, I quickly spotted the cache from below and soon the TOTT was deployed. A quick climb and soon it was signed and replaced ready for the next finder. It feels great to finally have completed the this mini series. Thanks DSD and now off to church. Big Grin

Short Trip Away Day #1 [23/11] of 3To start my holidays, I decided to head over to Canberra for a short trip away. This trip of course included geocaching. I left home just after 7am and slowly made my way over while finding caches along the way. I had an early lunch at Gold Creek KFC and decided on finding the mini power trail along Majura Ln towards Sutton. A nice easy going PT and it was a nice quiet road for it. Next I found a few caches around Sutton and then I started heading over to motel but not before finding an evil hide by Loci612 plus two other quick finds. Lastly I checked into the motel had dinner and went to sleep. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTCs! Big GrinFor the second time today, a FP given but I certainly have no idea why though. This was an evil cache. After parking, I made my way over to GZ which lead to a quick find as in spotting it. However getting it into my hand and returning it was certainly NOT. Slowly and surely I clawed across the bridge grabbed it and returned to solid ground to sign it. The first time wasn't too bad but the second time, to replace it, hurt. I'm very, very glad that I didn't drop it. Now it's off the to find list. Now off to the last couple just up the road. Thanks
