It's the dry season in Townsville (sunny and in the upper 80's), yet when I went the wrong way I found myself standing in the middle of the rainforest...in the rain. It was cool! I eventually found my way to the cache site. I quickly found the cache, then the mosquitoes quickly found me. SL, TNLN, TFTC!!
24-Nov-06
Was a great early morning find! Come to find out, the mosquitoes are quite hungry in the morning and quickly took an interest in me... Watch out for spider webs too! Saw all kinds of critters up there. Spotted a kangaroo TB so I took it, and left a frog and some other small stuff in return. TFTC!!

Didn't need the fire gear today, and was an easy walk to the cache. I replaced the melted plastic bag, SL, left some US coins and my sig. wooden nickel, and took the GeoPenguin. I can certainly help it out -- it's going from a fire to snow! Actually, I could've helped out both of the geocoins quite a bit, but didn't want to loot the cache like a pirate.

It seems fire gear is needed today, and I don't have any. I got there and noticed that the GPS was pointing me towards a burning hill. Hopefully the cache survived! I'll have to try this one again soon...
07-Oct-06
Great walk, never met anyone else on the trail. Took frog and left a blue eraser for the blue pencil (but still needs a sharpener.) Had fun, TFTC!
No green ants today, except for a dead one in the cache container. Took the koala -- a great item for me to take back home in Dec.! Left an ugly orange wrench. Perhaps not the most fair trade, but it has some history. It was placed in a cache in La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA (near my hometown) by a 5 y/o. I was the next to find the cache, and traded items and took it because it was taking up a lot of space, even though it was the ugliest thing in there. (A month later, the cache was muggled, and hasn't been replaced since.) Wanted to make it a TB and send it the rest of the way around the world, but didn't. Figured I'd bring it half-way and hope it doesn't come back! (Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned where I live?) Anyway, great hide, had fun, TFTC!
08-Sep-06
Interesting spot and great hide near the path! Luckily, nobody else was on the path at the time, so I found it easily and took it down the trail to open it. SL, took one of the toys, left a sharpener and my sig coin. TFTC!!
02-Sep-06
GPS pointed my in the wrong direction at first, but eventually went the right way and found it easily. SL, took coin, left coin and custom wooden nickel. Great walk, even though it was cloudy and rainy. TFTC!!
01-Sep-06
Too many places to look and not enough time! Plus, the rocks mess with the GPS signal a bit. It was a fun climb anyway, and got to chat with the locals a bit. Oh well...
31-Aug-06
Unexpected FTF! Woot! Great hide -- took a bit to find it. Great view from the top! Took the fish magnet, left a Gremlin TB for the next finder. The next finder should leave a magnet for the TB since I didn't have one. TFTC!!

Wow... This was my first time climbing a mountain that high, and terrain that steep. Once I got up there, I was like a cat stuck in a tree for a little bit, with no idea of how to get down. You can't really see the trail from there either. I'm pretty sure that my jungle boots saved me from twisting my ankle on several occasions. My first thought when I got to the location was "oh no...there's a million places it could be", but luckily it was in a fairly obvious one. Excellent view from the top, and a fun journey to get there. Certainly a workout! SL, took a penny, left a custom wooden nickel from GeoNickels.com, and traded TB's. The new TB is a brand new one and should be fun! TFTC!
04-Aug-06
Beautiful bike ride from the uni! SL, Took penny and Townsville keyring, left TB (which is coming from the US) and my custom wooden nickel. Flower Bug TB wasn't in here. TFTC!

This one is about 2 blocks from where I live, in downtown Viroqua, Wisconsin. The building pictured is "Simply Country" and is a very large store for this town! The entire 2 story building, plus a basement is all country style furniture and nick-nacks. To go with their theme, they have a country looking "deck" painted on the building. I don't know when it was painted, but it's been there for at least 10 years.
Sorry, but I couldn't get my GPSr in the pic and have it at all readable... This mural is in my hometown, and is a nice welcome to downtown Viroqua, Wisconsin. I actually saw this while it was being painted by artists in WWTC about 7 years ago. It represents the seasons: On the left is spring, then summer, fall, and finally winter on the far right.
This globe is in the Veteran's Memorial in Viroqua, Wisconsin. This one is HEAVY because it's solid rock. The water under it provides lift, and the whole globe spins on it's axis. And no, the things in the background aren't monolith's from 2001:ASA.
