Logs for LavenderJane

04-Jun-24
Came to NP on King's birthday and were very happy with our holiday. Great cache on the way out of town. Thank you!

02-Jun-24
We're on holiday here for King's birthday. This is such a beautiful waterfront area. Thanks for the cache! I didn't have a pen so I took a pic as proof of find.

25-Jun-22
We're down in Canterbury for Matariki weekend and I wanted to grab a few caches down here. This one popped up on our way to look at Lake Coleridge. Great little walk and found the cache pretty quickly. TFTC!

26-Mar-22
I'm really striking out today! Even with the hint I can't find anything. There's a tree with branches hanging over a big majority of the area that was almost impenetrable. Hopefully it's still here and I'm just not lucky today.

I was beginning to despair. I was already 0 for 2 for the day. I'd actually tried to find this one before with no luck. Today was a different story. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and this was my first outing. Thank you for a really awesome cache!

I climbed all over on through the trees and brush but could not find it. Judging by the hint I'm in the right place but it's no where to be seen.

07-Sep-21
I looked all over especially in the spot I would have hidden it but no luck. I'll try again next time I come to see the pukekoes.

06-Sep-21
There were too many places to look and not enough daylight. I'll try again on my next walk.

13-Feb-21
Found this one at our turning around point. This one was nice and easy. TFTC!

We searched all over the entire area where the GPS said this cache should be and were unable to locate it. Either it's gone or so well hidden we couldn't find it. Honestly it's probably the latter because my caching fu has been lacking lately. We'll try again the next time we're in the area.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

We found the area in the photo and looked all over but there's no sign of the cache. There's debris in the area that leads me to believe the cache has either been muggled or has been washed away.

This was a great hide! Found it easily and we were happy to learn of the medicinal properties of this tree. TFTC!

I didn't get my GPS working until we'd already walked past this one on the way in so we picked it up on the way back to the car. It took a few minutes for the muggles to disappear but once we were alone I found the cache. TFTC!

31-May-20
The fuzzy chooks that live here are so cute! There's a new fence blocking the area where I think this cache is placed. We didn't want to jump it so this one is DNF but it's a great area and the people who live here have some really cute puppies.

We had such a good walk today! There was pigs, puppies, "pacas, and poultry plus we found this great cache! TFTC

06-Nov-19
Hanging out in the city and decided to do some caching. This was a very clever cache! Had a great time looking while trying not to get caught. Lunchtime might not have been the best time! But I finally found it in between muggle smoke breaks. TFTC!

Hanging out in the city and decided to do a bit of caching. Took me a while to find this one but finally did. This is a great location! I've walked past here several times and not noticed this little area. TFTC!

This area is amazing! As I sat down to sign the log a little sparrow sat down right next to me! This little wetland is great. TFTC!

I absolutely love this location! This one was easy to find but still well hidden. TFTC!

23-Mar-19
We were at Expressions for a ballroom dancing competition. As I was walking back to the car I saw a spot I thought looked promising so I went over and checked it. Sure enough, there was a nifty little cache. I almost got caught by a gaggle of girls from the dance comp but I used my stealth skills and managed to sign the log and put it back before they saw me. Thanks for the excellent cache!

30-Sep-18
Down in the area with my MIL who is visiting from the states. This was a very nice intro to caching for her. TFTC!

08-Aug-18
I spent a good 30 minutes looking for this cache and couldn't find it anywhere. Using the hint I thought I know where it was originally but I think it's been muggled. We found some plastic bits that look like they could have been the top or bottom of a container. The owner might want to check this one.

20-Apr-18
I looked everywhere but no luck. There weren't any muggles in sight so I had plenty of time to look. I think this one has been stolen or at least interfered with.

19-Apr-18
This was an easy find while waiting for my next job to start. I managed to hide it back where I found it then promptly was pooped on by a bird.

Clever hide. I didn't look suspicious at all hunting for this one lol! TFTC!

18-Apr-18
This was a quick and easy find in between jobs for me today. Usually it's dark by the time I get to Petone so I took advantage of the light to tackle this one. I shared the cache location with a little family of Silvereye and a song thrush. The cache is dry and in great shape. Signed the log and put it back where I found it. TFTC!

05-Apr-18
I was searching for this one before work and ran out of time before I found it. I did, however, end up with splinters in my fingers. There is a vine with thorns nearby. Anyway, I'll have to come back to find this one. Cheers!

I live in J'ville but work in LH. Today I was in LH too early for work so decided to grab a few caches while I wait. This one was very easy although the container is different than when it was first published. That's not a problem though. Doesn't change anything. I signed the log but left trinkets alone. Thanks for bringing me here! I met a lovely dog named Chip who has a magnetic attachment to his stick.

We went out to this gorgeous region for a backpacking overnight during the Easter holiday. I tried to hunt for this cache on the way out to our camping spot and again the next day on our way back but the sheer volume of muggles made it impossible. I tried to be sneaky but a couple of little kids decided to follow me and I couldn't shake them. I'll definitely be back to get this one in the future.

01-Apr-18
We went out to this gorgeous region for a backpacking overnight during the Easter holiday. This was the first cache I bagged in this area. Although there were a fair few muggles, I was able to find it fairly quickly. It's quite well hidden but there's a bit of water inside the container. I dried it as best I could. The logbook is dry and easy to write in. These are such beautiful trees! Thanks for the cache!

We went out to this gorgeous region for a backpacking overnight during the Easter holiday. This is a great hide area. The hint made this easy peasy. The cache is well hidden and dry. Thanks for the cache!

We went out to this gorgeous region for a backpacking overnight during the Easter holiday. As I approached this spot I thought if I was going to put out a cache, this would be a great place. I checked the GPS and sure enough there was this one. The hint made this an easy find. TFTC!

22-Jan-18
Found this one after a nice hike on this track. This is a gorgeous spot! I live not far from here so I'll eventually get the rest in the series. The cache didn't have a pen or pencil and I totally forgot to bring one so I'm attaching a photo of the log and the container as proof I found it. TFTC and I look forward to getting the rest along this beautiful track.

03-Nov-17
I searched all over but just couldn't find it. This is a really great tree! TFTC!

This is a really cool spot! In addition to the zebras and giraffes, I saw some ducks and some rabbits too. I tried inputting the coordinates two different ways but still wasn't able to find it. Thanks for bringing me here though.

Based on the hint I was pretty sure what i was looking for but after a good half hour beating the bushes I couldn't find a thing. Maybe it got washed away during the last flood? Might need the owner to check it.

This one seemed to require more bushwhacking than I felt comfortable doing out here by myself. I'll come back with my wife another time.

Found this one easily. Very clever hide! As others have said logbook is wet and mostly full but I managed to get my name on there. TFTC!

30-Oct-17
This is just around the corner from my house so I figured it was time I get it. Being an American, I had no idea what a bogan was but once I looked it up I realized we have them in abundance in America as well. Smile This was quite the clever hide. TFTC! I completely forgot to bring a pen with me when I went out for my walk so I'm posting a pic as proof that I did, indeed, find it.

28-Oct-17
This was a great place to go for a hike. This cache was quite fun to find. My pen just wouldn't write on the paper so I took a pic to prove I was there. TFTC!

We recently went on a hike at Whareroa Farm. We stopped at The Dell for a picnic and I realized there was a cache not far from where I sat. My GPS said the cache was straight up the hill in front of me so I trudged up it to the little glen above. My GPS indicated I was within 1 metre of the cache but I, for the life of me, couldn't find the items in the hint. Finally, I went further into the trees and voila! There it was. I followed the directions on the cache lid and quickly realized I would be unable to sign the log book. I'm not physically capable of doing so. As a result, I'm unsure if I can claim this as a found or not. Perhaps the cache owner will let me know what they think? This one was quite clever. TFTC!

My wife and I went on a hike here and had a great time. My GPS was giving me fits so I wandered around looking all kinds of funny trying to get it to settle in an area. Finally, I found it! This was a fun one. TFTC!

03-Oct-17
This one is just around the corner from my house. On my last evening walk, I grabbed this one. I forgot to bring a pen so I'm adding a pic to prove I actually found it. This is quite clever. TFTC!

I absolutely LOVE this park! I brought my binoculars and my bird book and watched birds to my heart's content. So many of them! And the babies! So many babies!! I was in bird watching heaven! I found this cache pretty easily but I forgot to bring a pen. I took a picture of the cache as proof I found it. TFTC! This is a great spot!

This is an absolutely gorgeous park! We live in Wellington and had driven over for the afternoon. This pissoir is fascinating! It's like a tree with a Victorian wall you can piss on! Now the modern toilets are pretty wonderful too! Once you push the button to lock the door, it starts playing music for you, or Loosic as I dubbed it, and it tells you to have an enjoyable experience. It's awesome! Once you get this cache, you gotta go check out the toilet. Now, I totally forgot to bring a pencil so I took a picture of the log book. It needs a new seal as the contents are a bit wet.

This one was a great hide with a fabulous view! TFTC!

17-Apr-17
I found this cache without the use of a GPS. My partner and I really needed to get out of the house because we'd been housebound all long weekend while she worked on her masters stuff and I laid around and did nothing. Unfortunately, I was feeling terrible so we only made it about 30 minutes up the Belmont Loop Track before we turned around to come back. I saw this cache on the way back. I almost always looking for caches wherever I go. I find places where I would put one and look around there. I'm right more often than not.

I've been a member of GC.com since August, 2005. My father was av8ndv8 and he got me interested in it. I have relatively few finds because I don't go out all that often. Plus I only go after the interesting ones. My partner doesn't like to geocache and since I'm usually with her, I don't search much. I'm nowhere near my anniversary date but I'll totally forget about this by August so that's why I'm logging it now. Anyway, this was a fun cache and I'm hoping the muggles didn't see me putting it back. I tried to be discreet. TFTC! This was fun!

This was a really fun cache! We recently moved to the area and have been checking out stuff around us. We were walking over to the cemetery and decided to pick this one up on the way. My GPS was acting up and kept pointing me the opposite direction so I used the description and the other logs to find the general area. Once I found the moth trap, I knew I was in the right area. Looked around a bit and then there it was. This is a very clever cache! I love spiders so it's great that you're educating folks about them. The log is still in excellent shape.
