Logs for MissK1103
16-Jan-22
Had an interesting trip from the Gribblehirst Park carpark, and felt really silly when I discovered a different way to leave that was more straight forward. I was very impressed with this cache.
05-Aug-20
Out for a walk and thought I would give myself somewhere to aim for. Found cache pretty quickly even though my navigation sent me about 5m in the wrong direction. Next stop home. Thank you.
30-Jul-20
A lovely lunchtime walk among the trees and a cache. Success on both counts, thank you.
28-Jul-20
Excellent. Went out for a walk then decided to see what caches were around. I was trying to think of a way to 'sign' the log without a pen and was very pleased to find a pencil in the cache. Thank you.
I was out on a walk when I decided to see what caches were around. I don't have a pen to sign the log but I did take a photo of it. This one reminds me of a multi, where you go to the coordinates and get the information to find the final. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

Excellent. The name and hint didn't really give anything away once at GZ I thought if the places I might hide a cache. Found it pretty quickly once I used this strategy. Thank you.
20-Jun-20
Had a nice walk to the cache after coffee at the café. Lucky to have got this one in during a sunny morning. Thank you.

A tiny diversion on the way home and I again have smiley faces dotted around home. It was nice to read about the history of Tin Tacks Corner. I knew there was something but not the details. Thank you.
I wondered how I could have left this cache unfound for so long as I pass this road almost daily. Then when I got to GC I realised it was one I found more than a year ago and somehow never logged. I'm glad it was still here, so I could find it and log it this time.

Found it as the sun was almost set and wished I had brought my real camera. Took thus photo with my phone, it still gives a hint of the beauty and tranquility here.
16-Dec-17
Found this as I introduced Nicomuller to geocaching. Nice hiding spot. Thank you.
I absolutely loved this multi. Thank you for planning this out so well. I couldn't believe I was so onto it at WP1 but didn't realise it! Nice hide for the final.
The church is a good reason to stop driving and to have a cache as well, thank you.

Went down to the foreshore for some fresh air on a rare day in Auckland when it wasn't raining and decided to have another look for this cache. Either my coordinates were wrong last time or the cache has moved because I was looking about 5 metres away from where I looked last time (and this time I found it!).
This is a lovely area for a walk, especially when the sun was out. Noticed a chill to the wind once the sun disappeared behind the clouds though. A leisurely exploration of the foreshore with new geocacher Brian and the cache was in hand. Unfortunately the log book is really wet.

I was attending the NZ Warbirds D Day Open Day with No. 1 Son. A few detours around the air field and hangers once we figured out about where we had to be because areas were closed to the public then a small gap in the fence and a little stealth mode and we made it to GZ. The cache was quickly located despite a nice bit of camo.
We had a really great day watching the planes and battle re-enactment.

Went on a geocache hunt in muggle central on a central muggle day - Waiuku Steel 'n' Wheels. A great day out and, depending on what cache I was supposed to find, probably an easy find. Found a nano with a full log but did not find a magnetic key holder. I'm logging this really late (28/5/17) because it was a full on day out and I forgot I hadn't logged it. I think I still have a photo of where I found the nano if you (CO) want me to send it to you.
Went to Waiuku Steel 'n' Wheels and hunted for a couple of caches. I am confident I was in the right place but no cache located.

We headed out for a walk in between rain showers and came across an appropriate looking place to start this multi so we did. A little later we had the cache in hand. A first find for one of our little group. Thank you.
Out for a walk and to find a few caches. Despite the weather reports of rain, rain and more rain we were out during a spot beautiful sunshine. I love the camo on this one, clever thinking. Second find for one of our group and good introduction to clever cache design. Thank you.
I don't recall meeting Uncle Brian but he must have been pretty special to have a cache placed in his memory. A good place to stop for a nice view over the water towards Titirangi.

I can't even begin to estimate how many times I have driven past this little piece of land, or even sat in traffic beside it waiting to go through the roundabout and never registered it was here (developed or otherwise). What a terrific little spot playing such an important role in keeping the stormwater discharged into the sea cleaner. Than you for drawing this little pocket park to my attention @McA.
Have been out of action for a while and was clearly out of practice because despite going straight to WP1 I took another 20 minutes to find the critical information and crossed the road four times, just for fun is my excuse. Was pleased to eventually locate a familiar @McA camo cache and signed the log, then headed off to the other Onehunga @McA cache that I needed a simley for, Pocket Park.

Thank you for organising the event Lynette and thank you to those who kindly shared their GPS knowledge and experience with me.
Planning to attend with No. 1 Son but doubt I'll be able to contribute to any technical discussions.

The CO hasn't taken any action with almost 4 months of DNFs and a 'Needs maintenance' log on 22/4/16. Could the moderator please archive this cache? Thank you.

The day was alternately cloudy and sunny. A rabbit was grazing on the side of the hill. New tress have been planted and fenced off so eventually One Tree Hill will have one tree on it again. And there was me, walking back and forth seemingly fruitlessly until I went way beyond the listed coordinates and there was the cache. I noted the cache is no longer in a black painted screw jar but a small clear Sistema container. It is safe and secure at the listed coordinates.
Looked and looked even though all the logs since February are DNF. CO, could you please check the cache is still there.

A warm uplifting feeling washed over me as I found the cache. I was momentarily transported to hobbitville. Thank you for taking the time to create such a lovely cache.
Found it after playing being a rocky mountain goat. Some trees aee being planted up the top next Saturday. I think they're planning that one of these will ultimately survive and fulfill the name One Tree Hill.
I think I can, I think I can, I can just touch it - just enough to knock it out of my reach. Fortunately, there were some tools lying around and I could utilise one of these to retrieve the cache.

How can I not, so close to home. Appreciate there are no odd socks but I don't have mismatched ones either as I discard the loners.

I located GZ, made use of the pew, and felt like I was about to land a plane on a very long runway. It is quite a view from here. Thank you.
A nice little park in suburbia with an interesting piece of nature sheltering the cache.
Cache description needs to be corrected. Cache container is a mint tin with camo NOT a Sistema container. Cache also needs a new log, the current log is in tatters, damp and full.
Located GZ. I agree that the hint doesn't really contribute much to the hunt/find. There are two cache containers at GZ. One is black with a soggy, unusable log. The other is grey with a usable log. Signed the black container log first because I didn't see the second container until I was putting the black one back.
One of the two containers at GZ needs to be removed, the black container has the soggy unusable log. The hint needs to be deleted as it doesn't relate to the actual cache location.

Beautiful cache and very creative, your hard work was worth it. I agree with @McArgister, the original coordinates are more accurate than the current ones. Have left the travel bug "R.I.P. Daddy" (Zur Erinnerung an Dieter Kuhlenbach), I think the story with this cache makes it a good spot for the bug's next stop.
No other travel bugs were in the cache even though the inventory suggests The Nightingale, VW Surf1 Campervan, and Amore the Teddy Bear are here.

I narrowed my search to two likely locations whilst my GPS went mad. Then I thought it had settled down and was pretty sure I knew where to look but was somewhat reluctant to delve far. After a bit of stretching, contorting and dreaded delving, with some very odd looks from the public, I persisted with my idea of where to look but traveled away from where my GPS suggested GZ was and hooray, the cache was in hand.

No. 1 Son and I decided to go camping at Ambury Park Farm. It took longer to set up camp than it did for us to drive from home to Ambury Park but we felt like we'd travelled a world away from the 'burbs. We headed out to find some caches after lunch and this one was first as it was less than 100 metres from camp. The description of the lava and origin of the Hawaiian word for it brought back memories of the puddings and custards my mother made when I was a child.
There is a lovely view across Manukau Harbour from here. It is also very peaceful. Nice spot for a cache. Thank you.
No. 1 Son and I went camping at Ambury Park Farm on the weekend. We found this cache on one of our many walks around the farm. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite fit the trackable I have into the container.
26-Jan-16
Out exploring the Island with No. 1 Son and was very pleased a cache had been placed here. Finding a cache when I go somewhere different is like collecting a souvenir. I was really surprised it has been on the Island since 2011, then I found out the Island is celebrating '5 years open to the public' in February.

Staying overnight in Cambridge with No. 1 Son so we could do a glow worm kayak trip. We decided to hunt for a couple of caches on our way to find some dinner. I particualrly chose this one to appeal to No. 1 Son. He was impressed and looked really hard but the final hurdle was too much for him to grab this one with his own hand. Thank you.
Staying in Cambridge overnight with No. 1 Son to do a glow worm kayak trip and decided to hunt a couple of caches on the way to find dinner. My GPS was going absolutely wild so we ended up having a pleasant walk around the domain before locating the cache. Great hint and hiding spot. Thank you.

Thank you for checking Mr beconaze. Mrs beconaze's poem is excellent. Seems I will have to coordinate a possy to hunt this little devil down. Yes, the quality I have attributed to the cache has changed since yesterday, when it was a 'gem'.
