Logs for PS Hiker
01-May-22
After the rain of the last few months, the cache was quite wet. The log book has been replaced and nested in 3 containers. The outermost container is the least waterproof and an edit to the log asks that it be replaced upside down (lid on the bottom) so excess moisture drains away.

The cache has now been dried out, the logbook has been replaced and container replaced with a more waterproof unit. The cache is now back in business!

The cache container was replaced as the old one was damaged. I also checked the coordinates as a few people reported the cache hard to find - yet it is reasonably easy to spot if you look in the right spot. A slight change resulted in a move (closer) by about 11 metres.
On checking the cache, it needs more maintenance than I was able to do on this visit - the cache is quite damp and needs some improved waterproofing. Within a week, it will be dry and have dry contents! It can still be visited, but it is damp!

There has been a lot of residential development in this area. When the cache was first placed, it was in the middle of almost pristine bush. Now, after a new residential estate has been completed, the cache was almost exposed on the edge of some landscaping next to a road. hence, I have moved it back into the bush - but not too far.

As I have had 2 "did not find"s for this cache, I will disable it until I check it out.
Sounds like it has been muggled.
If so, I might try a different location, as this would be the second (or third?) time.

I haven't checked this cache for quite a while. It was great to do the walk again and find the cache in good condition. I also dropped off a travel bug.

I have found this cache previously, but thought I would check it on an afternoon stroll. It is still there and in good condition.

Each time I have come up to this spot during the day, I have found a few guys in utes standing around having a quiet ale. I think it must be the best place in the Bay to hide from the boss!!
However, I continued on into the park and was able to discover the cache without being discovered doing it.
Dropped off a travel bug. The cache was a little damp inside but then, it has been raining a little ... !!!

Great place for a cache. Had to leave the dog tied up whilst i went tip-toeing amongst the Gymea lilies and sandstone blocks, but found it easily with the hint. TNLN

It has obviously been quite windy around here during the last few days. I have actually found this cache before, but didn't log it at the time. When I returned to log it today, I found the (very light) cache sitting out on the sand a metre or so away from its proper location!! Also the log page inside, whilst not wet, has probably been wet in the past and is now quite fragile (or perhaps it has got like this from lots of folding). The log page needs replacing.
I solved the wind problem by finding a small rock and a banksia cone and hiding the cache (back in its location) with these more weighty objects on top. TFTC, Madstars!

I have walked past this cache many times, but almost always with the dog and without the GPS. This time (a cold winter afternoon) I did have the GPS and found this quite quickly, once the area was clear of muggles.
I tried to find this cache a while back, then realised that it must have been moved, as the coordinates had changed from those entered into my GPS. However, out walking the dog and with the GPS, found this quite quickly on a cool winter's afternoon. Quite dry inside, despite the exposed location. TNLN

Visited the site to put a plastic cover on the log book and write the cache name on it.
Also dropped off a travel bug that I had meant to place in it when initially stashed.
