Logs for Phil & Verla from OZ

02-Jul-15
With Verla to get the oldies cache in Utah and Colorado, plus some of the National Parks in Utah and Nevada. This makes the third cache I have found for this month of the Jasmer. It was a very pleasant walk from near campsite 19 to GZ. Do to long legs and watching my step I was able to keep my shoes and socks on the whole time. TFTC SL TNLN

Truvetter and I tried this one yesterday afternoon; we had the combination to the lock and headed down the rough road to the cache. We got to road which looked like a dry creek bed to me, as we drove down it; it got sander and sander so we turned back. Today after Truvetter had called a few cachers we know that had done this one, we came back with a new strategy; we would drive within .7 miles of the cache and walk the rest of the way. With water and spare batteries for our GPSr we headed in. Luckily we saw not snakes going or coming from the cache. To me this is what caching is all about, yes it was a little unnerving the day before, but with some advice from friends and a little better planning on our end we were able to make the find. I’ve been trying to get down to this cache for sometime now and Verla and I were only three hours way so we just had to swing by and get it. TFTC SL TNLN

Texas 2000-2001 run with Hockabee and TeamSNOOTH. Even though we still had lots of caches to go today, this is just one of those times where you just have to slow down and enjoy the incredible view. TFTC SL TNLN
