Logs for Poldark

18-Nov-24
Arghhh the old assumption monster reared its ugle head and cache blindness compounded my problems, meaning this find took much longer than it should have. Still, a find is a find is a find and I'm happy to have collected another clue i the series! TFTC

19-Oct-24
WOW what an absolutely amazing cache hide Took me a moment and like others I had to retreat to the car to do some research on the Golden Hind before zo ing in on GZ proper. I was lucky as there was noy a single soul in the carpark but I can imagibe this would be very tricky at times, particularly for solo cachers with no lookouts . Wish I could give more than one fav point but thems the breaks. Well done and TFTC TNSL.

01-Oct-24
Nice easy find in a surprisingly busy little park. Enjoyed the history here and of course the views! TFTC and the series.

Out here with work and got to try out some Jack Speak with some local Jack Tars - suffice to say they thought I was cray cray I don't mind though cos I found a cache. The cache was found a wee bit away from coords but was labelled as a replacement cache - it did not have a series clue? So wondering a wee bit whether it is legit or not, but guess CO will let me know. Loving this series!! TFTC

24-Sep-24
Well, I was expecting to settle in fir a long hunt this morning. Area was very quiet with school holidays and all so had place to myself. Strategically parked the car to hide my search from nearby reaidents and began the hunt. Ehat do you know? Cache was the 2nd thing I touched - woo hoo!!!! Doesn't often happen that way on these smaller ones for me. Happy days. Great hide TFTC

Messages sent to CO and Balayang regarding cache placement.

Quick find this morning but unfortunately I had to remove the cache from the location at the direction of the Base Manager as cache is located on Commonwealth property and no permission was given for its placement. Although located outside the secured cantonment, this area is still within the footprint of the Naval base and therefore cannot have a geocache placed there. I'll message Beckgiz to arrange hand back of the cache.

02-Sep-24
Had gathered the info a while ago but didnt find gz on the day as there was a market on and kids were playing in the trees. Fast forward and was walking nearby so thought to have another look. Found the cache safe and snug so signed log and tucked it back in. TFTC SLTN

30-Jul-24
What a beautiful sunny winter day, too pretty to be visiting such a sombre place. Wonder how the residents feel and whether their houses have any echoes of the past? I love these historic virtuals and appreciate the respect shown to cache placement and type. Fav point for the history and location which I would never have found otherwise.

28-Jul-24
Quick easy find on a quiet Sunday afternoon. What a poignant location, such a sad and lonely place now. TFTC

Was in Naarm this morning and somehow ended up on the poont here this afternoon. Had a good look round and whilst waitibg for the bus to arrive thought I'd just check the geocaching app and guess ehat? Lovely spot and good sized cache - so chuffed to find a bigger one so left a couple of TBs that jad been way too long in the bottom of my bag! TFTC and fav point for the location!

27-Jul-24
I thought I was too late to be arriving here at 10am on a Satirday morning but it was surprisingly quiet which made for an easy find. TFTC and for bringing me to Docklands for the first time! Fav point for a new area to explore

Nice and quiet at 1040am but geez this area is a bit on the nose! Must be party central at night. TFTC well hidden in CBD - so so sneaky, I love it!

26-Jul-24
Having a night in town and am staying just round the corner so popped out to gather required info and image. Beautiful theatre but the biggest surprise for me is the cost of a ticket these days - crikey! Once again, theatre is getting to be for the rich. Ah well, if I make it through a couple more birthdays then I can get a seniors discount TFTC

24-Jul-24
Yes, another quick lunchtime find as I ducked out of work to take advantage of the break in the windy conditions and get some Vitamin D into me. Glad to find another dogs tail cache, although I have more to find. Perhaps that should be my next mini-challenge for the next long weekend? Hmmm I rather like that idea! TFTC Beckgiz - loved the sneaky size of this one and being close to my work, it will be good to know that I could use this as an impromptu TB hotel to drop off any TBs. Fav point for the larger size, good location and ease of access Very Happy

I was surprised to find a blank sheet of paper as there have been a few finds but went ahead and signed it anyway, I mean who else would be hiding this here? Seems like a lonely little station at north Crib Point but handy for the locals I guess. Nice spot and quick lunchtime find - just how I like 'em Very Happy TFTC

22-Jul-24
Needed to get out at lunchtime for a break from the screen, so even though it was rainy, decided to head out to the beach for a walk. Lovely sculpture and it was great to see how many sticks and messages have been added already. Cache was an easy find. TFTC

13-Jul-24
Well how to make caching even more interesting? Do it in the pouring rain andngo to an unfamiliar area haha! Found it hard to get the right spot to pullover for GZ so had to circle back round and wait for cars to pass. Finally managed and them cache was easily found. Folks mist have thought I was mad! Mad enough to mark a find TFTC and the fun!

Finally got back to Langwarrin and a chance to redeem myself. Quick easy find this time yay!! Thanks for replacing and TFTC.

Took longer than I expected as my coords had me on wrong side. But rain had GPS eandering too, but perseverance paid off and finally signed log after a 20min search. TFTC and the history!

12-Jul-24
Yay finally got to redeem myself but no odea how I missed that! EEK! NOT my favourite thing to have to touch as this is my childhood phobia. Even though I know its not real, still had to flip it with a pen to turn it over so I could get to the log. Managed, phew! So glad to have finally found it! TFTC

28-Jun-24
Great idea! Will attend and skip brekkie so i can fill up on sausages Smile

10-Jun-24
What a great Earthcache for youngsters to learn the ropes. Although the wet weather and darker skies may have altered how I saw the colours and I kept wavering between the two most obvious for dominance. Eventually picked one and sent answers to CO. Thanks for highlighting this area, will be back ti e plore the park some more and do the other caches in the area. TFTEC and Fav point!

09-Jun-24
Looked under, over and yes I stooped to feeling around inside too. No mint tin was found. Rats! The rats must have hidden it somewhere else or its a case of the blind cacher instead of the blind mice . Will be back after next find! PS: once I got home, my mind wondered to whether I had actually checked ALL likely spots. There is one area that I cannot remember seeing or reaching, so will return to give it another go next time I am out this way. TFTH

Well it's not often that I enjoy micros in parks but this one was worth the wet feet in the rain today. Nicely done! TFTCPS: I think I signed log with yesterdays date, not realising that today was the 9th and only just seeing that now on my PC at home (oopsie).

08-Jun-24
Nice easy find to start with today, loved that it was not too far in, if you know what I mean . Good cache for kiddies to start with and there was plenty of swag for them to choose from. TFTC

02-Jun-24
Easy find although it felt very exposed to the house nearby. Hopefully they are aware of the cache. Nice logbook and kept it short to name sign only. TFTC

Had to wait ages to fund a quiet time to duck out of the car and make the find. Was trying to be as inconspicuous as possible but then my pen wouldnt write so had to take log to car to find a pen to sign it. Thrn on replacement a soft squishy thing kept escaping out of the cache so that lid would not go on. Finally wrestled it inside and put it all back together and tucked it in ni e and warm. TFTC and thanks to @Beckgiz for leaving the squishy that I had fun with ??

10-May-24
Had to do a boundary drive for work so tookthe opportunity to duck down here to find a cache. Nicely done! TFTC

06-May-24
Had a good look around but could not see it. Tried to follow hint in a previous log but still no luck. Did find what looked suspiciously like a wad of toilet paper in there - hopefully just wind blown and not actually used in situ.Hmmm. Hate to admit defeat but DNF it is for today. Shame as this is one of my missing hidden month caches closer to home. Ah well, will have to try another day.

30-Apr-24
Answers sent to CO. I loved this earthcache - just wish that I had taken my grandkids with me as they would have loved to explore this area and learn about our local dinosaurs!! This was fascinating, but I didn't find any fossils as the tide was higher. But I did get to explore the rocks and enjoy the weathering and patterns on them. It was a bit cold and blustery, with occasional bursts of sun and any day spent on a beach is a great day! Had so much fun here, TFTEC and the interesting history. Pic shows how high the tide was, but still managed to collect the answers Smile Fav point for sure!

29-Apr-24
The hunt took me a while as I was making an error in my assumptions about accessibility. Lesson learned and finally found the cache after widening the search radius. Clouds made GPS swing about which wasn't helping me either. Anyway, log signed with much relief and I can score another hidden month off my grid TFTC TNSL

One of my hidden months to find so yay!! Am slowly working my way through them and this series will certainly help. Thanks Beckgiz . TNSL and TFTC

Found easily enough after a lovely walk along the beach. I have not been to this stretch of foreshore until today so thanks for placing a cache here TNSL TFTC

Wow, this cache is one I would normally walk away from, being on the short side and not as mobile or flexible as I used to be. However, it was also showing up on my missing hidden months list, so I had to stretch myself. Managed to get up, down and then repeated to replace. Phew! TFTC

Decided on a start of the week cache run down the peninsula to find some missing hidden months for my grid. This one filled the criteria so pulled over and began the hunt. I must admit that my heart sank at first looking at all the possibilities but a casual glance spotted a tiny glint which was the cache. So no need to dig amongst all yhe fallen leaves phew! TFTC

Always too busy here so decided to try a quieter day ehich worked a treat Cache found safe and sound, log signed TNLN TFTC

This cache turned up on a missing hidden months search so put it on my list today for finding the southern peninsula ones. This cache is the fifth find for the day, which is a lot for me. Lovely location and I enjoyed a short beach walk after signing the log. Our beaches here are always better on overcast days as the wind and waves are more spectacular! TFTC

Picked a less busy time and tried to hide my actions by getting a stone out of my shoe whilst leaning accordingly . Nice hide in plain sight - TFTC

I was passing through and stopped in Yarragon for a bit of lunch. Pleasantly surprised at the range of shops here, so ended up spending a bit more time and more $$ here than planned. Happy to support local small business and I'll be back again just for some shopping Smile. Now onto the cache. I didn't know there was a virtual on offer here until my caching senses had me open the app to see what was nearby, if anything. Chuffed to see this on the map, I then choofed back to revisit K183 to get the obligatory selfie. Many thanks for the cache and for highlighting a K-Class loco (and I have taken a photo of the info board which explains where other K-classes can be found). TFTC

27-Apr-24
Wow that was harder than expected as I'm not really a beachy person and walking in soft sand is a struggle. Finally got there in the end after following some fresh footprints of person and dog. Was half expecting to see people down here but there was no-one at this time in the morning. So found the cache and signed log for a hidden month spot. Now to make the long walk back up t the car - should have brought my water bottle with me! TFTC and it was great to find such an old cache still active - fav point for sure!

Well, after a hard walk this morning on really soft sand at the beach, I decided to go for a drive to find another larger sized cache. Also, Saturday is my day for swapping books at little street libraries, so I targeted this one as it held a cache as well - all my favourite things coming together . I loved this one - great size and well arranged. Swapped out 2 books and scored an Isabel Allende (of Love and shadows) and a new author for me, Cathleen Hope, Dare to Try which is set around Alice Springs. Looking forward to reading these. The cache TB Hotel was a bonus and I discovered the ones which were in there and took one to move it along. TFTC and the beautiful drive out - will definitely have to come back to explore your town further.

23-Apr-24
As per previous logs, the inside was wet and many of the contents are rusting away. Official geocache located in the 4th cache hide attempted but log sheet was full. I have added another piece of paper in a plastic bag so hopefully that will keep the damp out for future finders. Great concept and would be better if contents could be cleaned up and refreshed a bit - would have loved to leave a pile of swag for kids to find but not game to in the current condition. TFTC

I was exploring the area for the first time and was amazed at the things I have learnt today. Great AdLab and fun find for the bonus at the end of it. GPS had me 4m out from final GZ but perseverance paid off - liked the way you kept to the theme Smile. TFTC and the fun!!

22-Apr-24
Well, what to say except that I absolutely loved this earthcache! As a weekend prospector this was right up my alley and I really enjoyed visiting one of the lesser known goldfields. The history here was so interesting and I would love to see what remains of Tanjil under the lake, maybe in drier years we might get a glimpse. The answers have been sent to CO, although trying to work out ratios did my head in - maths was never a strong point for me. Thanks Muzza for creating this earthcache and placing it here - what a lovely picnic area to come back to with the grandkids!

06-Feb-24
Woo hoo, finally got round to finding this cache after having collected the required info 2 years ago. Got caught in a thunderstorm then ehich was why I bailed on the final GZ attempt. Brilliant little themed cache and loved the history. Fav point for sure! TFTC

A quick dash out of work for a short stroll and a cache. No muggles around so took my time. Do miss the submarine view from the carpark! TFTC and the series. Although I forgot to get the clue so will have to revisit - Doh!

04-Feb-24
Well, that was an adventure and a half Wink. After donning all the required gear and safety goggles, boots, gloves I headed to where I thought the cache should be located, only to find it well guarded by two black and white denizens of the deep. They sidled past me, keeping a watchful eye on what I was doing. At this point I was grateful for all the safety warnings and for the CO's foresight into listing suitable PPE for the attempt. I swam around the feature, looking for any sign or clue to the treasure I was seeking when out of the gloomy depths, a glimmer of bright pink. What else could it be? I reached in tentatively with bated breath, keeping my own watchful eye on the guardians in return. Thankfully they were happy enough to just keep swimming, in circles around me. Yes, it was the non-squishy feel of a hard container - SUCCESS!! I carefully extracted what I needed and made my pirate mark before leaving some suitable booty for the next finder. TFTC and the adventure, really appreciate what you did here <3

22-Jan-24
Nice quick lunchtime find to get some close to work caches off my unfound list. TFTC

21-Jan-24
Had a long wait between muggles and cars but eventually grabbed this brilliant little cache. Loved it and the attachment method is 10/10. TFTC and fav point for the ingenuity and execution.
