Leprechaun49 and I ventured out to Mingo this morning. First, we had to do a little minor repair on a tire on the Leprechaun vehichle, but that was handled quickly and promptly. Afterwards, we set off for the fifty or so mile jaunt West from Wakeeney, which is where we settled in for the night.

Yesterday, we took off from the Dallas area early in the morning. We had the Kansas Star and some counties in our sights. This morning, it was on to Mingo. We arrived about 9:30am, and had a nice drive. The further West we got along the interstate, the windier and snowier it got. Nothing seemed to be sticking, but we did get a little nervous seeing the highway closed sign ahead. We had ten miles to go, and came all this way, don't tell me we can't get there now!

Turns out, where ever the highway was closed, was West of Mingo. So, all was well. We got out and found the cache and brought the contents back to the truck to check it all out. Hey, it was cold! We signed in, then captured some pictures of the memorable event. It was a lot of fun, and great to be able to share this experience with my father in law.

The boys and I had quite the trip today. We passed through the area, and went to go visit this virtual. We learned a lot of history, and it was quite enjoyable!

I went all of 2010, with a find every day. The entire streak started near the end of 2009, and lasted through January of 2011. I made it to 400, and called it quits So, I filled in my 365 day grid there, and last year added Leap Day.

This is one of the ones I REALLY wanted today. I was nervous when I ran my query and the last log at the time was a DNF. I made my way to GZ and came up empty. I hopped on the phone, and saw the maintenance was completed and updated coords provided. Phew! That was about the only place I hadn't checked yet

Day 2 of a South Texas county run with Leprechaun49. We have traveled nearly 900 miles so far and seen some amazing things along the way. The weather has been great. It was a little cooler this morning, and warmed up late afternoon. We were able to tackle seven new Texas Counties for us, raising our total to 232. We are inching closer to 254, and only need 22 left. So close!

This was one of the three caches we found in Aransas County. Wow, I found this one extremely tough to find. Leprechaun49 made the grab, phew! We almost walked away with a dnf.
