Logs for SoggyMoggy

After a visit to the shops in Market Harborough this lunchtime, MrJimDG and I decided to have a walk around Lubenham as its their annual Scarecrow Festival and village fete this weekend... We also thought it would be a great place to grab one of the nearby caches to continue our streak too. Unfortunately the rain gods conspired against us. We managed a walk around the village green but sadly only got to see a few scarecrows before the heavens truly opened and a huge, long downpour soaked us completely so back we went to the car to consider our options and to see if there was a suitable C&D for our 673th find whilst on our drive home.
I had spotted this cache on the map with a few other possible options nearby as backups and so we headed on over and parked up in the convenient space nearby. It was a steady drizzle by this time but as we were under the trees and it was a D1.5/T1.5 we thought it would be a QEF decided to go and hunt anyway... How wrong were we! The GPS was initially pointing to one likely area so both MrJimDG and I centred our search there. Nope. No cache. We widened out a little looking in suspicious hidey-holes. Nope. We looked in places where we would hide it if we were the CO's. Nope. We had to take a short stop whilst a Muggle walked through the churchyard and along the path and took the opportunity to read the nearby information board and to read the hint and previous logs before back we went to search. Still no sign... Hmm... The GPS by this time was pointing in a different direction but MrJimDG didn't believe it was working correctly due to the tree cover so we continued to search and search. I was still a little unsure that we were in the wrong place though so in order to shut me up, off MrJimDG ventured to take a look and Haha! one container in good condition quickly in hand! We opened up the clean, dry log and scribbled our details, relieved not to have to log a DNF nor go and hunt for another cache in the rain! After replacing it back as we found it, we retreated back to the car to head off home to dry out in the warm!
TFTC! A good, fun hunt at a fantastic looking church!

MrJimDG and I were driving past on our way out of Manchester and happened upon a parking spot right next to GZ so decided to stop despite the rain. Quick find by MrJimDG using the good old shoelace trick. We retreated to sign the log under the shelter of a tree before replacing.

This was a quick and easy find for our 143rd cache despite both the high Muggle and high police counts in the area this evening. MrJimDG was able to both grab and replace it without arousing suspicion. Love the artwork in the area - especially the mosaics!

Well - this must the first DNF of its type! The cache was inaccessible due to a Gangsters protest on the Manchester Wheel! (see below) MrJimDG and I couldn't get to it due to the large police corden... Oh well - another time maybe! http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/may/06/manchester-gangster-scales-ferris-wheel-protest
TFTC anyway!
