Logs for Stanford Gal 

We found it today during a quick visit to Hollywood. Very clever finding a spot linking the three kings, however, I couldn't find anything about MLK there. I wanted to drop off the geocoin in my possession, but it didn't quite fit. 

I was actually going for a cache with a friend at Lake Hennessey, CA. We drove by this dam and stopped to take a shot of it. In doing my research afterwards, I believe this to be Conn Dam, which was built in 1948 to establish a water conservation reservoir known as Lake Hennessey. The top of Napa does continue to be flooded during heavy rains, so there are continuing efforts to minimize flooding.
 

When I read about this memorial, I knew I had to see it. I walked quite a ways to get there, but it was definitely worth it. I was able to spend some quiet moments there, reflecting on the events of 911.

A friend called to tell us what was happening that morning. We didn't believe him, so we turned on the TV to see for ourselves. As those who have logged here before, we were stunned by what we saw. That feeling of disbelief lasted for quite some time.

Thank you for making sure this memorial gets the attention it deserves.

This was a great cache. What a beautiful area. My girlfriend and I are staying in nearby Queenstown. We took the bus into this very picturesque town and enjoyed the various cafes and historical spots about; the walk to the cache was a wonderful one. We had to stop to enjoy the vistas.

I didn't take anything, but I did leave the CA Skatin' Insp Gadget TB with hopes that someone will pick up this little guy and send him onto great adventures.
