Happy Australia Day! This was a great cache to find on Australia Day as a nearby house was decorated in a bunch of Australiana paraphanalia...and I found a $5 on the path nearby!!

Quite incredible, but also sad to think of the birds that miss out on such productive wetland habitat.
A spot we would not have visited and would never have guessed was there as from the main road the drain looks just like a small scrape as it enters the lake.

Managed to get the Echo down this track to the camping site, but not without fearing that there would be an embarassing towing incident required before the cache was located. The walk from there was pleasant and GZ was a very impressive spot indeed.
On the way out we drove past a couple walking down hill about 1km from the nearest parking spot, joking perhaps a little too smuggly that the young lass must have been grumbling that if an Echo can get down the track that their car should be able to. We predicted a sports car or lowered utility. We were spot on on the second count, driving past a very shiney, very red and very low down utility. at the top of the track.

Found this one eventually but it was a bit tricky! Looks as though many before have searched a bit for this one cause the area is well trampled. Followed a couple of 'maybe nread crumbs to the rough location but felt a little bad for treading less lightly than I would have liked....trashed out to make up for it.
One of the last for the day, sunburn and undergrowth dont mix well we found. Too bad you cant get a better look at how deep this well is.

Hmmm......disappointing but interesting plaque to read about the fallen combatmen so worth it none the less.
We were here 2 years ago pre-geocaching and had no idea this was here...thats one of the best bits about this game:)

A spot that we wouldnt have visited had it not been for this cache. Interesting history.
Thanks for the detour.
Thanks for the detour.
Too cold for a swim and a bit green looking though the ducks didnt seem to mind. The approach to GZ is well worn and perhaps the cache should be moved to a new location.
We found the Tweety 2 calling card out in the open and also no cache. Took the calling card for properity.

Interesting story and nice word play. Great cache.
Took nothing. Left Golden Hairy Berry Geocoin after it had an adventure with our favourite giant fruit and some team artworks.

Found it on a second pass by...this shorty needs to start thinking tall thoughts. Sunday service was going so got a listen to some singing but nothing from the revamped organ unfortunately. TFTC!
This nice little cache tin is missing its lid.....a male redback had taken up residence amongst the pages of the log book. No pencil and log full..sorry no replacements to hand as yet in our kit
Hmmm...a bit surprised at not finding this one. Will try again another day. GPS was directing us to trample sand dunes which seemed unlikely given the field notes. But roadside locations turned up no 2L cache.
Woo-hoo our first magnetic cache so far...how neat and easy to retrieve they are! Nice spot for a little rest during a long day to. TFTC
After a long day oot and aboot this one alluded us. Boo! Next time Freddo the Frog, next time!

A nice hiding spot. I was curious to find out what the inspiration for these sculptures was after reading the field notes. Looks like there is more connection to the Early Settlers temporary structures than there is to Aborignal dwellings...for more info on this visit http://www.artinadelaide.com/LieoftheLand/index.htm but here is an exert from John Dowie's article:
"On the 19th November 2008 I interviewed Kuarna elder Lewis O’Brien and asked if he had any part in the “Lie of the Land†project. He said, “No, because it had nothing to do with aboriginals.†He knew of the project because at the time he was on the Adelaide city Council’s Affiliation Committee. I asked him if any of the “wurlies†were ever made of stone. He explained that the original aboriginal shelters were made of mallee branches, grass, bark and earth and were more of a semi-circle in shape and that the “wurlies†in the “Lie of the Land†which are a beehive shape.
He went on to explain that the beehive shaped shelters were in fact built by the early European settlers (immigrants) and that they had used traditional aboriginal materials (i.e. not blankets) to construct them. “The early settlers lived in these temporary shelters around West Terrace in a place called Immigration Square, near Port Road, close to where the sculpture is sited†he said."

Although after a our first FTF, third place was still pretty sweet. Still think the squares rep is earned, especially as a strange women wandering around, looking suspiciously like a cacher at first turned, out to be a nutter! Left geocoin. TFTC

Found it on a second visit after reading previous logs again. GPS had us >20m away both times but got there in the end
Took Golden Hairy Berry geocoin to move along to fruity places and left Banduck shooting card for signing and return to address on card! A new season of shooting is under review for 2010.

Great field notes. A new facility nearby makes for a captive muggle audience for this one....stealth warning might need lifting.

Team Gorecki's first multi............we walked past the last to find this one we think during the day on our way to another cache. We are only just begining to appreciate the magnitude of this sport! Awesome. Took foam elephant left save the albatross sticker. TFTC
Nice pun. We almost chickened out of this one but found it after some scratching around - TNLNSL

Its a wander that this cache is in one piece looking around. Contents a little soggy, new ziplocks needed for logs. A nice spot for a stroll.

The first for us and one of a glut to be found after Christmas delivered GPS's to naive unsuspecting muggles......we had no idea!
