Logs for TexasWriter

FTF with CornDoll. Before we left for our belated honeymoon trip to New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Oklahoma, we decided to run a search for all unfound caches along the way. This was the closest one to home (Houston), so we decided to give it a try. Went out to GZ and looked around for a minute, then expanded the search. When the cache wasn't spotted in an expanded search, we came back to GZ from a different angle and spotted it right away that time (just needed a different viewing angle). The coords were great...within 10 feet. Signed the log but didn't take or leave anything. We have found kids, and two are in Girl Scouts, one in Webelos, and the other in Boy Scouts, so it was satisfying enough to visit one of the many locations that our dues pay for. TFTC!

Spent the day in Corpus Christi and Port Aransas with my wife, CornDoll. We grabbed lots of JMCz's caches while here and had a blast doing them. Hats off to the CO for great hides, great coords, and lots of built-in fun. This one took a few mins. I had the right idea but the wrong spot, because my coords had me about 10-14 feet away, and I had gotten accustomed to the coords being pretty dead on. Now I'm not saying it was the posted coords that were a tad off. Considering that I'd bounced my GPSr across the parking lot a few mins earlier, it was likely giving me a hard time in retaliation. After about 10 mins, CornDoll gave the battle cry, "I FOUND IT!" Lol. Thanks for the fun. I have a habit of giving most good caches that make me a work a little (or a lot) a fav point, and this one is no different. Fav! TFTC!

Spent the day in Corpus Christi and Port Aransas with my wife, CornDoll. We grabbed lots of JMCz's caches while here and had a blast doing them. Hats off to the CO for great hides, great coords, and lots of built-in fun. We looked around for a minute or two, and then we went where we thought the cache was gonna be. Darn, four elderly muggles were there. We pretended to look around at the sights while we searched with our hands in a clandestine manner. I told CornDoll I wanted to go to a different spot to get a different visual vantage point where the muggles were without them seeing me or thinking I was a weirdo. Sure enough, when I got there and looked in the direction I wanted, I spotted the cache. Since the muggles weren't going anywhere, we decided to chat them up, which we did. We steered the conversation toward geocaching and asked them if they knew what it was. We were pleasantly surprised to find they did know and had even done a little bit! Well good, then get out of my way so I can grab that cache that's two inches from your elbow! Lol. No, we politely asked if we could grab one. They were pretty intrigued while they watched the retrieval, the signing, etc. We chatted with them a bit more, and then we went on our way. Giving this one a fav just because the experience was fun and we got to meet some nice semi-muggle folks. TFTC!

Spent the day in Corpus Christi and Port Aransas with my wife, CornDoll. We grabbed lots of JMCz's caches while here and had a blast doing them. Hats off to the CO for great hides, great coords, and lots of built-in fun. We really liked this one....because of the craftiness of it and because we're jealous that in our little town of Houston we don't have nice rocks on a beach like this. We looked around for a minute (I was resisting the urge to do my Ralph Machio "Karate Kid" crane position impersonation), and then I spotted where I thought it would be. I asked CornDoll to check there since the cache was likely nearly biting her ankle, and she checked. Lo and behold, there was a cache there. Giving this one a fav. TFTC!

Hats off to the CO for great hides, great coords, and lots of built-in fun. We looked for a couple of minutes. and then (having gotten a feel for the CO's special brand of deviousness), I thought I would check something else. Yep, there it was. Giving this one a fav. I got to party like a rockstar after this one. Smile TFTC!

Drove down to Corpus Christi today with CornDoll. We grabbed lots of caches along the way. This was one of them. We pulled up about 25 feet from the cache and waited while a muggle parked his vehicle and boat trailer very close to us. While we waited, I glanced around and told CornDoll what I thought it was (and threw out a second option if the first one wasn't correct). Mr. Boat Muggle finally got parked (thought I was going to have another birthday before they finally got gone), and we stepped out. Yep, it was exactly where I thought it was going to be, but I'm giving it a fav. TFTC!

Drove down to Corpus Christi today with CornDoll. We grabbed lots of caches along the way. This was one of them. We let the geo-dog take a walk with us out to this one. He's a wuss, so he wasn't digging trudging in the weeds, so I saved him by making a quick grab on this one. CornDoll and I make quite a pear. Smile TFTC!
