Logs for The HPs
03-Oct-08
I should have read the previous logs for this one before dragging a horde of lookers with me on their first geocache hunt.
WE took a while to find the first cache, very tricky. Then took off with gusto to find the next cache. Either we were too stupid to find it or the cache has disappeared because we were unable to locate it. Very disappointing. sob sob.

Found this one with a tribe of kids in tow. Very hard to not look suspicous to muggles when we were in such a big group. Took a bit of searching, but was found in the end.

Too easy, found it almost by accident while trying to explain the finer points of geocaching to some novices. Very good for my cred.

Actually we found it on Jan 1 2008, but the geocache website hasn't caught up with the change of year yet.
This cache has been on our 'to do' list for a while. Today we felt like some exercise. Tried to drive up the steep slope, but way too slippery. So parked down the bottom and walked up. A good walk, and yes the views are worth it.
Saw a goanna climbing a tree at the lookout spot.
Found the cache after a bit of searching (our GPS kept changing it's mind about how close we were to the coordinates).
Also found a leech at the cache site.
Took nail polish, clippers and tattoos. Left plastic toys and pokemon card.
Great way to spend the morning, dragging 3 kids and a small puppy up a really steep hill. [^] Loved it!
Cheers, The HPs

A beautiful spot. We enjoyed finding this one. We managed to squeeze the travel bug into the cache so he could continue his journey.

Great day at Moonee, knew we had the spot when we saw a pod of dolphins swim by. Found GEOCOIN and it will turn up in a mystery location soon. Saw a red-bellied black snake look out if you go through long grass

Another beautiful day in paradise. A few muggles around this one so needed lots of stealth.

This was our first ever cache, and what a lot of fun we had finding it. Techno guru daddy confidently led us all off in completely the wrong direction, determinedly following his trusty GPS unit. Meanwhile kids and mummy followed meakly behind trying to draw his attention to the written instructions about the cache.
After traipsing 100 metres down the road and then facing another 100 metre bush bash, hubby finally admitted that perhaps something was wrong with his beloved GPS. Found out there are two grids and this cache was located on the other grid.
So back to the start to try again.
Daddy kept flapping up and down the track with his head buried in the GPS, while mummy scouted around and found the cache, yippee.
The kids went beserk over the contents and daddy retreated to the car with his tail between his legs.
Took a stamp and flouro stick and left a rand and a plastic spiky toy.
Noticed that the log book is getting rather full. Only one page left.
Now onward to other caches, uh ha!
