Logs for The.Eagle.Has.Landed

Out for a days caching with Lydford Locators and ReggieCat. Myself and ReggieCat met up early in Theale, Berkshire then drove to Swindon to do a few Church Micros before meeting up with Lyford Locators then starting off our trip in Wiltshire and making our way up through Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. We mainly had Church Micros on our list but included traditionals and a couple of puzzles if they were on our route. We managed to get 33 caches by the end of the day, with 3 DNF's. Some caches took a bit of time to find, some needed a lengthy walk to, and some were a high terrain rating that required some hill walking.

Thanks to all the CO's for putting out and maintaining the caches, though not a high numbers day, we all had a terrific day out, the weather was brilliant the whole time and we were treated to some marvellous sights and viewpoints along the way. A favourite point will be given to some of the more memorable caches of the day.

Despite an exhaustive search we couldn't find the cache.

Answers given to the CO at the Flashmob event he organised, a terrific event that deserved to have more people at it. After some deliberation he was happy with the answers we gave, though he did give plenty of nudges. I really must come back here in daylight to take in what must be amazing views; thanks for the cache and opportunity to come here.

I attended the Flashmob event with ReggieCat then after some cake and chat, we then looked for the answers required then went with Mordor2 and the CO close to GZ where it was a quick find for me. The climb back up the hill had my leg muscles working overtime but to do a cache here with good company and terrific nighttime views, the pain was worth it. Many thanks for the cache, a favourite point from me for an unforgettable night.

I came here with ReggieCat and Mordor2 after attending the midnight Flashmob event. I expected this one to be difficult given the lack of light and where it was hidden however it a surprisingly quick find formReggiecat. Thanks for the cache.

Caching with ReggieCat and Mordor2, we spent 20 minutes looking in the dark with torches but couldn't locate the cache. We were about to give up when to lady cachers came along so we continued for another five minutes before going back to the cars. Luckily I was rolling a cigarette at the back of my car when Mordor2 called out that the ladies had found it so off we went to sign the log. If it hadn't been for wanting a smoke....

Thanks for the cache.

After attending the Flashmob event at the monument I came here with ReggieCat and Mordor2 for a quick find. Thankfully the weather has been great this evening and the event was brilliant, it was good to meet new cachers and enjoy some cake too. I can now tick this one off on my target list of must do caches, many thanks for placing it and well worth the favourite point I'm giving it.

Out caching with ReggieCat doing caches around this area before going on to the Flashmob event on Coombe Hill at midnight. ReggieCat actually lived here about 25 years ago and was telling me about the place, I think it brought back some good memories for him. We used his iPhone to take pics of both of us next to the sign at the entrance. An email with required info will be sent to the CO shortly, thanks for the cache.
