Logs for TheRat

13-Jun-04
After being buffeted by wind and rain along an earlier coastal walk, the RatPack seeked a very rewarding retreat in the solitude of the enchanted forest. The weather cleared nicely and our walk was well remembered. We managed to meet up with Team Eudos and picked this cache up with little effort. Our GPS indicated that GZ was about 5 metres from the site, but with cloud and tree cover, the Geko was probably a bit confused.

Thanks to Maccamob for another well-placed and memorable search. We look forward to the next.

It was our second, and successful, attempt at searching out this cache. We had a bit of time to spend during school break and the youngest of the pack was eager to bag this one, as our last effort was hampered by poor weather and a setting sun. Today was much nicer and a more relaxed effort brought us to a well hidden cache in about 15 or 20 minutes. Our Gekko GPS was off by a few metres, but a bit of close scrutiny and a sweep of the area proved effective. Took the red fish and left a red hot wheels 'crab' car.

We picked a beautiful day to visit the area and enjoy a beautiful walk in the area. It was great fun to research the answers and make our way to the cache.

We took the key ring and left the miniature "Lilo & Stitch" view master.

We picked the nicest day of Melbourne's 2003 winter to successfuly find this cache. It took a few minutes but we finally found it. Had a few friends with us who couldn't understand what we were looking for (or why!) but enjoyed the hunt, and are now considering joining the team!

The birds had all gone to warmer climates I think, but we'll be back later in the spring to check them out. Swapped the Carabineer for a $2 Canadian coin.

A nice find and a pleasant walk. We were lucky to have an old Bionicle (sp?) in the car and swapped it for the female character from Buzz Lightyear.

Got up early, and since there was no snow reported on Stirling, decided to search out the closest cache. Had a great time searching for this one, and enjoyed the nearby walk. Didn't have any good reading material handy so perused through the library and left everything in tact.
